  • Nov 7, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: fix unbalanced rpm put() with fence_fini() Currently we can call fence_fini() twicCVE-2024-50144 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: fix unbalanced rpm put() with fence_fini() Currently we can call fence_fini() twice if something goes wrong when sending the GuC CT for the tlb request, since we signal the fence and return an error, leading to the caller also calling fini() on the error path in the case of stack version of the flow, which leads to an extra rpm put() which might later cause device to enter suspend when it shouldn't. It looks like we can just drop the fini() call since the fence signaller side will already call this for us. There are known mysterious splats with device going to sleep even with an rpm ref, and this could be one candidate. v2 (Matt B): - Prefer warning if we detect double fini() (cherry picked from commit cfcbc0520d5055825f0647ab922b655688605183)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe/ct: prevent UAF in send_recv() Ensure we serialize with completion side to prevent UAF with fence going out of scope on the stack, since we have no clue if it will fire after the timeout before we can erase from the xa. Also we have some dependent loads and stores for which we need the correct ordering, and we lack the needed barriers. Fix this by grabbing the ct->lock after the wait, which is also held by the completion side. v2 (Badal): - Also print done after acquiring the lock and seeing timeout. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Implement bounds check for stream encoder creation in DCN401 'stream_enc_regs' array is an array of dcn10_stream_enc_registers structures. The array is initialized with four elements, corresponding to the four calls to stream_enc_regs() in the array initializer. This means that valid indices for this array are 0, 1, 2, and 3. The error message 'stream_enc_regs' 4 <= 5 below, is indicating that there is an attempt to access this array with an index of 5, which is out of bounds. This could lead to undefined behavior Here, eng_id is used as an index to access the stream_enc_regs array. If eng_id is 5, this would result in an out-of-bounds access on the stream_enc_regs array. Thus fixing Buffer overflow error in dcn401_stream_encoder_create Found by smatch: drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/dc/resource/dcn401/dcn401_resource.c:1209 dcn401_stream_encoder_create() error: buffer overflow 'stream_enc_regs' 4 <= 5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Fix index out of bounds in DCN30 color transformation This commit addresses a potential index out of bounds issue in the `cm3_helper_translate_curve_to_hw_format` function in the DCN30 color management module. The issue could occur when the index 'i' exceeds the number of transfer function points (TRANSFER_FUNC_POINTS). The fix adds a check to ensure 'i' is within bounds before accessing the transfer function points. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe/guc_submit: add missing locking in wedged_fini Any non-wedged queue can have a zero refcount here and can be running concurrently with an async queue destroy, therefore dereferencing the queue ptr to check wedge status after the lookup can trigger UAF if queue is not wedged. Fix this by keeping the submission_state lock held around the check to postpone the free and make the check safe, before dropping again around the put() to avoid the deadlock. • Oct 21, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Add null check for 'afb' in amdgpu_dm_plane_handle_cursor_update (v2) ThiCVE-2024-49905 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Add null check for 'afb' in amdgpu_dm_plane_handle_cursor_update (v2) This commit adds a null check for the 'afb' variable in the amdgpu_dm_plane_handle_cursor_update function. Previously, 'afb' was assumed to be null, but was used later in the code without a null check. This could potentially lead to a null pointer dereference. Changes since v1: - Moved the null check for 'afb' to the line where 'afb' is used. (Alex) Fixes the below: drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/../display/amdgpu_dm/amdgpu_dm_plane.c:1298 amdgpu_dm_plane_handle_cursor_update() error: we previously assumed 'afb' could be null (see line 1252)

  • Oct 21, 2024In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/adreno: Assign msm_gpu->pdev earlier to avoid nullptrs There are some cases, such CVE-2024-49901 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/adreno: Assign msm_gpu->pdev earlier to avoid nullptrs There are some cases, such as the one uncovered by Commit 46d4efcccc68 ("drm/msm/a6xx: Avoid a nullptr dereference when speedbin setting fails") where msm_gpu_cleanup() : platform_set_drvdata(gpu->pdev, NULL); is called on gpu->pdev == NULL, as the GPU device has not been fully initialized yet. Turns out that there's more than just the aforementioned path that causes this to happen (e.g. the case when there's speedbin data in the catalog, but opp-supported-hw is missing in DT). Assigning msm_gpu->pdev earlier seems like the least painful solution to this, therefore do so. Patchwork: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/602742/

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
