Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: mcast: use copy-on-write RCU updates in ip6_mc_source() pmc->sflist is read locklessCVE-2026-98101 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: mcast: use copy-on-write RCU updates in ip6_mc_source() pmc->sflist is read locklessly under rcu_read_lock() by inet6_mc_check() during packet reception in the UDP and RAW multicast receive paths. ip6_mc_source() mutated psl->sl_addr and psl->sl_count in-place when adding or removing a source filter. Additionally, when expanding the filter buffer, newpsl was published via rcu_assign_pointer() before writing the new source into the array. Because 16-byte struct in6_addr writes are not atomic and array shifting is not synchronized with RCU readers, concurrent readers in inet6_mc_check() could read torn IPv6 addresses or observe duplicated/missed source entries. Fix this by switching ip6_mc_source() to copy-on-write RCU updates: allocate and fully populate newpsl before publishing it via rcu_assign_pointer(), and reclaim the old filter via kfree_rcu(), matching ip6_mc_msfilter(). Also remove the now unused IP6_SFBLOCK macro.

Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipvs: fix reversed sequence option serialization hton_seq() expects the host-order source CVE-2026-98078 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 4.4
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipvs: fix reversed sequence option serialization hton_seq() expects the host-order source first and the unaligned network-order destination second. The version 1 sync sender passes these arguments in reverse for both sequence blocks. This leaves 24 bytes of the kmalloc-backed message unwritten. It may disclose stale heap data and replace the live connection sequence state with values read from the buffer. Pass the connection sequence state as the source and the message payload as the destination for both blocks.

Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: caiaq: Fix potential double-free at error path The fix for caiaq driver's resource mCVE-2026-98066 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: caiaq: Fix potential double-free at error path The fix for caiaq driver's resource management to handle the errors tries to release the resources in a common destructor call, but as a sashiko review for another patch suggested, some of the audio resources such as URBs have been already freed, and this may lead to a double-free. For addressing the double-free, call the common destructor function from each place, and assure that the resource pointers get cleared.

Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: landlock: Fix use-after-free of the source's parent directory current_check_refer_path() rCVE-2026-97594 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: landlock: Fix use-after-free of the source's parent directory current_check_refer_path() reads old_dentry->d_parent without holding a reference nor a lock on it, and then dereferences it in collect_domain_accesses() and in the audit record. A reference on a child does not pin its parent: __d_move() reassigns dentry->d_parent and drops the reference the child held on its former parent. hook_path_rename() is not affected because the rename path calls lock_rename() before the hook, so the source cannot be reparented under it. hook_path_link() has no such protection: filename_linkat() holds a reference on the source dentry but neither locks nor references its parent, so a concurrent rename(2) can reparent the source while security_path_link() runs, and the former parent can then be removed and freed while the hook walks it. A process can trigger this after entering a Landlock domain that handles at least one filesystem access right. The process can then race a linkat(2) loop against rename(2) and rmdir(2): BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in collect_domain_accesses+0x278/0x290 Read of size 4 at addr ffff8881

Sep 24, 2026containerd is an open-source container runtime.CVE-2026-53493 · Other software · containerd · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9
containerd is an open-source container runtime. Prior to versions 1.7.36, 2.0.13, 2.2.9, 2.3.6, and 2.4.1, a crafted OCI index graph can force very high CPU/memory usage during PullImage (before container start), causing long ContainerCreating stalls and, at larger sizes, node/runtime instability. Sep 24, 2026Uncontrolled Resource Consumption (CWE-400 / CWE-1333) in regex search query predicates (such as RegexProjectPredicate, RegexRefPredicate, RegexPathPredicate, aCVE-2026-87722 · Other software · Gerrit · reported by cve-coordination@google.comHigh 8.7
Uncontrolled Resource Consumption (CWE-400 / CWE-1333) in regex search query predicates (such as RegexProjectPredicate, RegexRefPredicate, RegexPathPredicate, and sibling predicates) and REST regex filter endpoints (RegexListSearcher /projects/?r= and RefFilter /projects/{project}/branches/?r=) in Gerrit Code Review versions 2.1.6 through 3.12.9, 3.13.0 through 3.13.8, and 3.14.0 through 3.14.2 allows an unauthenticated remote attacker (or an authenticated user if anonymous read access is disabled) to cause a denial of service (CPU starvation and JVM heap exhaustion / OutOfMemoryError) via crafted search queries or REST API requests containing regular expressions with large counted repetitions or exponential DFA determinization patterns. Because the user-supplied regular expression is compiled into an unbounded dk.brics.automaton instance (new RegExp(re).toAutomaton()) on the request thread prior to index evaluation or access control visibility filtering, trivial queries can exhaust JVM heap or pin request threads regardless of heap size. Uncontrolled Resource Consumption (CWE-400 / CWE-407) in the ANTLR 3 search query parser (QueryParser / Query.g) in Gerrit Code Review versions 2.0.19 through 3.12.9, 3.13.0 through 3.13.8, and 3.14.0 through 3.14.2 allows an unauthenticated remote attacker (or an authenticated user if anonymous read access is disabled) to cause a persistent denial of service (CPU exhaustion and HTTP worker thread pool starvation requiring a server restart) via crafted search queries containing deeply nested parentheses sent to query evaluation endpoints (/changes/?q=, /accounts/?q=, /groups/?query=, /projects/?query=, /Documentation/?q=, /changes/{id}/query?expression=, or SSH gerrit query). Because syntactic predicates in conditionOr and conditionAnd recurse via conditionBase without memoization prior to capability or visibility checks and worker threads do not abort when the client disconnects, a small number of requests (such as 25 requests matching default httpd.maxThreads) can permanently pin all HTTP worker threads. Sep 24, 2026Docmost is open-source collaborative wiki and documentation software.CVE-2026-65827 · Other software · docmost · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5
Docmost is open-source collaborative wiki and documentation software. From 0.21.0 until 0.95.0, any authenticated workspace member with edit rights to a space can upload an archive to the page-import feature whose ZIP extraction routine does not limit total uncompressed size, per-entry size, or entry count. The extractor writes entries to the server temp directory and automatically extracts one nested ZIP, allowing an outer upload within the default 200 MB limit to expand by multiple GB. The resulting disk exhaustion can crash the import worker and degrade or take down the instance for all tenants. This issue is fixed in version 0.95.0.

Sep 24, 2026Mailspring is a fast, cross-platform, open-source email client.CVE-2026-93405 · Other software · Foundry376 · reported by GitHubMedium 6.1
Mailspring is a fast, cross-platform, open-source email client. Prior to 1.17.0, attachment quick preview converts Markdown, DOCX, and XLSX attachments with Snarkdown, Mammoth, and SheetJS and inserts the resulting HTML into the preview document through innerHTML without sanitization. A remote sender can craft a supported attachment whose converted HTML executes script when a recipient opens quick preview. The preview renderer has no direct Node or Electron access, but injected script can reach the IPC surface exposed to the quick-preview renderer. This issue alone provides script execution in the preview renderer; separate path-traversal and renderer-controlled file-write vulnerabilities are required for the documented persistent code-execution chain. Sep 24, 2026Discourse is an open-source discussion platform.CVE-2026-91121 · Other software · discourse · reported by GitHubMedium 5
Discourse is an open-source discussion platform. Prior to 2026.1.8, 2026.6.3, 2026.7.2, and 2026.8.0, attacker-controlled upload filenames used in chat message excerpts were rendered as unescaped HTML. A user able to upload a file and send chat content could place markup in a filename that was then interpreted by chat channel lists, chat summary emails, pinned message bars, reply previews, thread previews, and other excerpt renderers. The issue allowed trusted-HTML injection that altered rendered excerpt content, but JavaScript execution was not demonstrated with default Content Security Policy settings. The advisory states that no confidentiality, integrity, or availability impact was identified, while its structured scoring metadata separately assigns low integrity impact. Sites that disable or relax the default CSP have increased exposure. This issue is fixed in versions 2026.1.8, 2026.6.3, 2026.7.2, and 2026.8.0.

Sep 24, 2026Discourse is an open-source discussion platform.CVE-2026-91120 · Other software · discourse · reported by GitHubMedium 5.4
Discourse is an open-source discussion platform. Prior to 2026.1.8, 2026.6.3, 2026.7.2, and 2026.8.0, provider-controlled video titles in lazy video embeds could be reparsed as HTML when Discourse generated notification emails or chat summaries. A user with standard posting privileges could create a post for an enabled YouTube, Vimeo, or TikTok provider whose title contained markup, and the email and chat-summary rendering path would place that markup into the output instead of treating it solely as text. Recipients using HTML-capable email clients could see injected content, potentially including event handlers, but the issue did not directly expose a Discourse browser session or affect the forum page itself. Lazy video embeds must be enabled, which is the default configuration. This issue is fixed in versions 2026.1.8, 2026.6.3, 2026.7.2, and 2026.8.0.

Sep 24, 2026ZITADEL is an open source identity management platform.CVE-2026-85056 · Other software · zitadel · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2
ZITADEL is an open source identity management platform. From 4.0.0 until 4.16.1, ZITADEL Login V2 creates a browser session after password verification and can reuse that session for a later authentication request without verifying a user's enrolled TOTP, OTP, or U2F second factor. When the MFA step is abandoned and login starts again, session-validity checks require MFA only when the organization enables Force MFA or Force MFA for local users only, so a voluntarily enrolled factor can be skipped while completing an OIDC or SAML callback for a customer application. Sep 24, 2026Wazuh is an open-source security platform providing unified XDR and SIEM protection for endpoints and cloud workloads.CVE-2026-71540 · Other software · wazuh · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
Wazuh is an open-source security platform providing unified XDR and SIEM protection for endpoints and cloud workloads. From 3.9.0 until 4.14.7, wazuh-clusterd in framework/wazuh/core/cluster/common.py allocates a payload buffer using the size declared in a 20-byte cluster protocol header before Fernet decryption validates the peer. An unauthenticated network peer can declare a payload of up to 256 MiB, stop sending after the header, and retain that allocation until the TCP connection closes. The cluster listener has no application-level per-source connection budget in affected versions, allowing concurrent sockets to multiply memory consumption and potentially terminate the cluster process, disrupt synchronization, and interrupt distributed API forwarding. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PCI/sysfs: Add CAP_SYS_ADMIN check to __resource_resize_store() Currently, the __resource_resize_store() allows writing to the resourceN_resize sysfs attribute to change a BAR's size without checking for capabilities, currently relying only on the file access check. Resizing a BAR modifies PCI device configuration and can disrupt active drivers. After the upcoming conversion to static attributes, it will also trigger resource file updates via sysfs_update_groups(). Add a CAP_SYS_ADMIN check to prevent unprivileged users from performing BAR resize operations.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: coresight: perf: Retrieve path and source from event data ETM perf callbacks currently use the per-CPU csdev_src pointer, which can race with updates during device registration and unregistration. The AUX setup already builds and stores the path in the event data. Use this path to retrieve the source instead of csdev_src to avoid the race. Export coresight_get_source() and add etm_event_get_ctxt_path() to retrieve the context's path and its source with READ_ONCE() / WRITE_ONCE() accessors. Give the comments to explain why this approach is safe when pause or resume callbacks preempt the disable callback (e.g. via NMI).

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pds_core: quiesce DMA before freeing resources pdsc_teardown() frees DMA buffers but does not disable bus mastering, leaving the device able to perform DMA after the buffers are freed. This can lead to use-after-free if the device writes to freed memory. Add pci_clear_master() to pdsc_teardown() to disable bus mastering before freeing resources, ensuring all DMA is quiesced. Add pci_set_master() to pdsc_setup() to re-enable bus mastering, which is needed for the firmware recovery path since pdsc_teardown() now disables it.

Sep 24, 2026authentik is an open-source identity provider.CVE-2026-94613 · Other software · goauthentik · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
authentik is an open-source identity provider. Prior to 2026.2.7, 2026.5.7, and 2026.8.2, an unauthenticated attacker can submit a malformed SAML message to an authentik deployment using SAML in either the identity-provider or SAML source role. The message can stop the worker handling /application/saml/* or /source/saml/*, causing the requests assigned to that worker to fail. Worker process termination and automatic restart do not destroy database-backed sessions, but continued malicious messages can cause a sustained share of legitimate traffic to fail. Other protocol implementations are not affected. This issue is fixed in versions 2026.2.7, 2026.5.7, and 2026.8.2.

Sep 24, 2026authentik is an open-source identity provider.CVE-2026-94612 · Other software · goauthentik · reported by GitHubHigh 7.4
authentik is an open-source identity provider. Prior to 2026.2.7, 2026.5.7, and 2026.8.2, an authentik SAML Source verifies an assertion's signature and validity period but does not ensure that the identity provider issued the assertion for that Source or in response to a login request from that Source. The SAML Source also does not record already accepted assertions, allowing replay. An unauthenticated actor who possesses such a valid assertion can use an assertion intended for another service provider or reuse an earlier assertion to authenticate as the user named by the assertion. Only SAML Sources are affected; SAML Providers and other Source types are not affected. This issue is fixed in versions 2026.2.7, 2026.5.7, and 2026.8.2.

Sep 24, 2026authentik is an open-source identity provider.CVE-2026-94611 · Other software · goauthentik · reported by GitHubHigh 8.1
authentik is an open-source identity provider. Prior to 2026.2.7, 2026.5.7, and 2026.8.2, authentik API serializers return stored credentials when an account has view permission on an affected configuration, even when that account is not authorized to change the configuration or read its secrets. Affected configurations include one-time code delivery by mail or SMS, outbound provisioning targets, device trust integrations, identity sources, the Kubernetes outpost integration, applications using a client or shared secret, and applications using a proxy provider. Deployments are affected when view permission is granted to accounts that are not intended to read these credentials; deployments where every viewer is permitted to read them are not affected. Sep 24, 2026authentik is an open-source identity provider.CVE-2026-94609 · Other software · goauthentik · reported by GitHubHigh 8.8
authentik is an open-source identity provider. Prior to 2026.2.7, 2026.5.7, and 2026.8.2, an account with delegated permission to manage a group, group membership, or a user can grant superuser status to an account or assign an existing role to a group without holding the permissions that gate those privileges. Group hierarchy checks do not consistently account for superuser status inherited from ancestor groups, and role assignment to a group lacks the required authorization check. Only deployments that delegate these management capabilities to accounts that are not full administrators are affected. This issue is fixed in versions 2026.2.7, 2026.5.7, and 2026.8.2.

Sep 24, 2026authentik is an open-source identity provider.CVE-2026-94606 · Other software · goauthentik · reported by GitHubHigh 8.9
authentik is an open-source identity provider. Prior to 2026.2.7, 2026.5.7, and 2026.8.2, authentik email authenticator enrollment during an authentication or enrollment flow accepts a recipient address supplied in the setup request instead of using the address already established by the flow. An actor who knows a target user's password can substitute an attacker-controlled address, receive the one-time code, and finish enrolling the factor as the target. The target must not have enrolled the email factor already. Successful enrollment gives the actor a session as the target and access to single sign-on applications behind the account. Other authenticator types are not affected. This issue is fixed in versions 2026.2.7, 2026.5.7, and 2026.8.2.

Sep 24, 2026OpenWA is a free, open source, self-hosted WhatsApp API gateway.CVE-2026-91161 · Other software · rmyndharis · reported by GitHubMedium 6.4
OpenWA is a free, open source, self-hosted WhatsApp API gateway. Prior to 0.23.5, the GET /api/sessions/{sessionId}/groups/{groupId}/invite-code endpoint and the GroupGetInviteCode MCP tool have no OPERATOR role requirement, allowing a valid VIEWER key scoped to a session to retrieve an active group invite code. The invite code is a transferable WhatsApp bearer capability, so an external account can join a group administered by the session without an OpenWA credential, gain read and post access to the group, and retain membership after the VIEWER key is revoked. Affected deployments are those that issue VIEWER keys to parties who should not be able to add accounts to administered groups; OPERATOR and ADMIN access is intended. This issue is fixed in version 0.23.5.

Sep 24, 2026OpenWA is a free, open source, self-hosted WhatsApp API gateway.CVE-2026-91160 · Other software · rmyndharis · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2
OpenWA is a free, open source, self-hosted WhatsApp API gateway. Prior to 0.23.5, the /events WebSocket gateway delivers the session.qr event to a VIEWER API key that subscribes by event name or through either wildcard subscription form, even though GET /api/sessions/{sessionId}/qr requires the OPERATOR role. When an allowed session is waiting to be paired, the exposed QR lets the key holder link an external device to the WhatsApp account and then read and send messages outside OpenWA and its audit trail. Keys restricted through allowedSessions remain limited to those sessions, and deployments that issue only OPERATOR or ADMIN keys are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 0.23.5.

Sep 24, 2026Discourse is an open-source discussion platform.CVE-2026-91134 · Other software · discourse · reported by GitHubMedium 5.4
Discourse is an open-source discussion platform. Prior to 2026.1.8, 2026.6.3, 2026.7.2, and 2026.8.0, the Discourse post sanitizer allowed a stored cross-origin iframe to bypass the allowed_iframes prefix policy when the iframe src contained encoded userinfo. The sanitizer validated a decoded form differently from the stored iframe src, allowing the browser to interpret an attacker-controlled host while the allowlist check accepted the encoded URL as an allowed prefix. An authenticated user with posting privileges could persist the iframe in a post and cause attacker-controlled cross-origin content to be rendered. This issue is fixed in versions 2026.1.8, 2026.6.3, 2026.7.2, and 2026.8.0.

Sep 24, 2026Discourse is an open-source discussion platform.CVE-2026-91133 · Other software · discourse · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5
Discourse is an open-source discussion platform. Prior to 2026.1.8, 2026.6.3, 2026.7.2, and 2026.8.0, authenticated users could supply unescaped SQL LIKE metacharacters to upload-resolution patterns, causing wildcard input to select unrelated upload records instead of matching a literal identifier. The affected upload metadata, URL-lookup, and cooked-video-placeholder paths could resolve uploads the user was not authorized to access. This allowed disclosure of restricted metadata, including original filenames and secure-upload paths, without modifying the upload records. This issue is fixed in versions 2026.1.8, 2026.6.3, 2026.7.2, and 2026.8.0.

Sep 24, 2026Discourse is an open-source discussion platform.CVE-2026-91132 · Other software · discourse · reported by GitHubMedium 4.3
Discourse is an open-source discussion platform. Prior to 2026.1.8, 2026.6.3, 2026.7.2, and 2026.8.0, sites using wildcard patterns in the allowed_iframes setting could accept a crafted iframe URL whose allowlisted suffix appeared after a URL authority separator. The wildcard origin check matched the allowed domain text, while browser URL parsing selected a different attacker-controlled origin. A user with posting privileges could exploit the flaw through a post or a Onebox oEmbed response and cause an attacker-controlled iframe to be rendered independently of the allowlisted domain. Successful exploitation requires a site-configured wildcard iframe pattern and the ability to create a post or trigger an oEmbed request for an attacker-controlled URL. This issue is fixed in versions 2026.1.8, 2026.6.3, 2026.7.2, and 2026.8.0.

Sep 24, 2026Discourse is an open-source discussion platform.CVE-2026-91123 · Other software · discourse · reported by GitHubHigh 7.2
Discourse is an open-source discussion platform. Prior to 2026.1.8, 2026.6.3, 2026.7.2, and 2026.8.0, the iframe src traversal guard did not treat literal backslashes as path separators after decoded dot segments. A crafted source could therefore pass an allowed_iframes subpath check while browser URL normalization moved the iframe outside the intended allowed path. The resulting iframe could load content from a location that the administrator did not allow. This issue is fixed in versions 2026.1.8, 2026.6.3, 2026.7.2, and 2026.8.0.

Sep 24, 2026Discourse is an open-source discussion platform.CVE-2026-91122 · Other software · discourse · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7
Discourse is an open-source discussion platform. Prior to 2026.1.8, 2026.6.3, 2026.7.2, and 2026.8.0, the video placeholder component allowed crafted HTML to cause an attribute breakout and inject an attacker-controlled event handler. An authenticated user with default trust-level posting privileges could store the crafted placeholder in a post. When another user opened the post and clicked the video play overlay, the handler could execute arbitrary JavaScript in the viewer's session. Default Content Security Policy settings block inline event handlers, but instances with CSP disabled or relaxed could allow the script to read page content and make authenticated requests as the viewer. Sep 24, 2026Discourse is an open-source discussion platform.CVE-2026-84302 · Other software · discourse · reported by GitHubMedium 4.2
Discourse is an open-source discussion platform. Prior to 2026.1.6, 2026.5.2, 2026.6.1, and 2026.7.0, Discourse AI reviewables associated with private messages could appear in the moderator review queue of a moderator who was not a participant in the message. Reviewable visibility filtering did not restrict private-message reviewables to the audience permitted to access the underlying private-message topic, allowing the moderator to read otherwise confidential content. Depending on the available reviewable action, the moderator could also modify the private message by closing its topic or deleting a post. Sep 24, 2026phpMyFAQ is an open source FAQ web application.CVE-2026-56738 · Other software · thorsten · reported by GitHubHigh 8.5
phpMyFAQ is an open source FAQ web application. The `StopWords::add()` method inversions prior to 4.1.6 builds a SQL `INSERT` statement using `sprintf()` and inserts the user-supplied stop word value directly into the query string without calling the application's database escaping function on it. A sibling method, `StopWords::update()`, which modifies an existing stop word, correctly escapes the same kind of input. The omission is isolated to the `add()` (insert) code path. An authenticated administrator who can reach the stop-word management feature can submit a crafted value as the "word" parameter that breaks out of the SQL string literal and injects arbitrary SQL, including statements to drop tables, exfiltrate data, or modify other rows in the database. Version 4.1.6 fixes the issue.

Sep 24, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clocksource/drivers/timer-sun4i: Advertise a real minimum delta sun4i_clkevt_next_event() CVE-2026-93219 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clocksource/drivers/timer-sun4i: Advertise a real minimum delta sun4i_clkevt_next_event() compensates for the timer stop/start synchronization delay by programming evt - TIMER_SYNC_TICKS into the hardware interval register. The clockevent device currently advertises TIMER_SYNC_TICKS as min_delta_ticks, so the clockevents core is allowed to call set_next_event() with evt == TIMER_SYNC_TICKS. That programs a zero-tick interval. With oneshot/highres/nohz timer operation this can leave the next event stuck, which was observed as a boot hang on Allwinner D1 after the clockevents core started reusing forced minimum-delta events. Advertise one extra tick instead, so the smallest event accepted by the core still programs at least one hardware tick after the synchronization compensation.

Sep 24, 2026Logto is the modern, open-source auth infrastructure for SaaS and AI apps.CVE-2026-63203 · Other software · logto-io · reported by GitHubHigh 7.6
Logto is the modern, open-source auth infrastructure for SaaS and AI apps. From 1.31.0 until 1.42.0, the Account API handlers in packages/core/src/routes/account/third-party-tokens.ts allow a caller holding a same-user access token with only the openid scope to retrieve stored social or enterprise SSO provider access tokens through GET /api/my-account/identities/{target}/access-token or GET /api/my-account/sso-identities/{connectorId}/access-token. The handlers authenticate the user but do not require the identities scope that protects neighboring identity-detail operations, bypassing the intended Account API consent boundary. Exploitation requires federated token-set storage to be enabled and the affected user to have authenticated through a supported connector. A low-trust application can use the disclosed provider token against upstream APIs within that token's granted scopes. This issue is fixed in version 1.42.0.

phpMyFAQ is an open source FAQ web application. Versions 3.2.0 through 4.1.5 contain an authentication bypass in its public two-factor authentication verification flow: an unauthenticated attacker can submit an account’s numeric user ID and a valid or brute-forced six-digit TOTP code without first authenticating with the account password, allowing takeover of any 2FA-enabled account, including administrator accounts. Version 4.1.6 is patched by binding TOTP verification to a session established after successful password authentication and limiting failed TOTP attempts. No official workaround is documented; affected installations should upgrade to 4.1.6 or later.
