When Gitea's built-in SSH server is enabled (`START_SSH_SERVER = true`), the presented public key was looked up with an SQL `LIKE` comparison of its encoded content, which is case-insensitive on some databases, including the default SQLite. An attacker who can construct a case variant of another user's registered RSA public key for which they can derive the private key could have that key matched to the victim's account and authenticate over SSH as that user. Keys are now looked up by fingerprint.

Sep 30, 2026Authentication bypass via LDAP injection in component sshd-ldap in Apache MINA SSHD versions 1.2.0 to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5.CVE-2026-94053 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgCritical 9.1
Authentication bypass via LDAP injection in component sshd-ldap in Apache MINA SSHD versions 1.2.0 to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. The optional sshd-ldap component provides support for integrating password and publickey authentication on the server side with an LDAP server. sshd-ldap is an optional component. SSH servers implemented with Apache MINA SSHD are affected only if they use sshd-ldap and do configure it to be used for password of public key authentication. Other Apache MINA SSHD servers are not affected. Lack of escaping LDAP filter metacharacters enabled successful authentication with username "*" and password "*". Users are recommended to upgrade affected applications to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue by properly escaping filter parameters according to RFC 4515.

Sep 30, 2026Server-side memory exhaustion in Apache MINA SSHD 1.0.0 to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5, component sshd-sftp, in the SFTP v6 check-file-name/check-file-handlCVE-2026-94029 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgMedium 6.5
Server-side memory exhaustion in Apache MINA SSHD 1.0.0 to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5, component sshd-sftp, in the SFTP v6 check-file-name/check-file-handle extension. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. Using a very small "block size" (for instance 256, which is the minimum) on a huge file generates many (file size / block size) hashes. The resulting SFTP reply message was accumulated fully in memory server-side, which could, with a suitably large (possibly sparse) file exhaust the server-side memory, taking down the server. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue by imposing a maximum limit on the size of the reply. Many SFTP implementations have a general limit on the size of SFTP messages anyway; typically 256kB as in OpenSSH or also in Apache MINA SSHD.

Possible memory exhaustion in SFTP clients (DefaultSftpClient) in component sshd-sftp in Apache MINA SSHD versions 0.9.0 to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. The sshd-sftp component provides support for SFTP. The SFTP client implementation, when receiving a reply, did not check that this reply corresponded to a request sent earlier. Unsolicited replies would be stored but never consumed. A malicious server could keep sending unsolicited replies until available memory in the client was exhausted. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue.

Sep 30, 2026Uncontrolled resource consumption in component ssd-scp in Apache MINA SSHD versions up to 2.19.0 or 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5.CVE-2026-93996 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgMedium 6.5
Uncontrolled resource consumption in component ssd-scp in Apache MINA SSHD versions up to 2.19.0 or 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. Component sshd-scp of Apache MINA SSHD provides a Java implementation of SCP. The SCP command protocol is line-oriented with LF-terminated lines. The protocol handler in sshd-scp did not impose any limit on the length of such protocol lines. A malicious peer just sending a junk command containing a never-ending sequence of characters but never a LF would cause the receiver to allocate memory to store this whole junk command, exhausting memory and crashing the application with an OutOfMemoryError. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue by enforcing an upper limit on the length of SCP protocol lines.

Improper input validation in sshd-git in Apache MINA SSHD, versions up to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. Component org.apache.sshd:sshd-git provides though class GitPgmCommandFactory a way to configure an Apache MINA SSHD server such that authenticated SSH clients can remotely execute git commands via the JGit library on git repositories stored on the server. In CVE-2026-58624 this mechanism was restricted to only a few git commands, including "git archive" without "--output" or "-o" options such that the resulting archive would not be written on the server but instead sent back to the client over the SSH connection. The fix done for CVE-2026-58624 was insufficient as it missed removing the single-argument "-o=file.zip" version of the command parameter from the "archive" command. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue.

Sep 30, 2026Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH.CVE-2026-93994 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 8.1
Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. SSH servers can be configured to require multi-authentication schemes, for instance two different public keys, not just one. In OpenSSH, this would be done by setting in sshd_config AuthenticationMethods "publickey, publickey". Apache MINA SSHD provides an equivalent configuration mechanism. In Apache MINA SSHD versions up to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5 the server code in component sshd-core does not enforce that the two public keys presented are different. A user can thus successfully authenticate with only one of the two key pairs required by presenting this single key twice. This is a partial authentication bypass. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix this issue.

Authentication bypass in sshd-core in Apache MINA SSHD versions 2.0.0 to 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M5 for a certain (presumed rare) way to implement an SSH server. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client- and server-side SSH. In the server part of the library, a mechanism to perform "asynchronous authentication" exists. A server implemented with Apache MINA SSHD must contain explicit code to make use of this feature. The implementation of this feature was flawed and could potentially lead to skipping checking the signature in public-key or hostbased authentication, or returning a wrong result. Users are recommended to upgrade to Apache MINA SSHD 2.20.0 or 3.0.0-M6, which fix the logic error and which additionally forbid the use of this "asynchronous authentication" mechanism with the public-key or hostbased authentication schemes: if used, the SSH session will be closed and the server will log an entry indicating that asynchronous authentication may be used only with password or keyboard-interactive authentication.

Sep 29, 2026Russh is a Rust SSH client and server library.CVE-2026-102825 · Other software · Eugeny · reported by GitHubLow 3.7
Russh is a Rust SSH client and server library. Prior to 0.62.6, the USERAUTH_REQUEST path reached from server::run_stream in russh/src/server/encrypted.rs increments self.common.auth_attempts but never compares it with server::Config.max_auth_attempts. An unauthenticated remote client can continue submitting authentication requests on one connection beyond the configured cap, bypassing the deployment's attempt-limiting policy and increasing online guessing opportunity and backend authentication workload. This issue is fixed in version 0.62.6.

Sep 29, 2026Russh is a Rust SSH client and server library.CVE-2026-102824 · Other software · Eugeny · reported by GitHubMedium 4.3
Russh is a Rust SSH client and server library. Prior to 0.63.0, the hybrid ML-KEM 768 and X25519 implementation in russh/src/kex/hybrid_mlkem.rs accepts an all-zero 32-byte peer X25519 public key in both server_dh and compute_shared_secret, forcing the X25519 contribution to the combined shared secret to zero. A malicious SSH peer can therefore make the combined secret depend only on ML-KEM, defeating the hybrid exchange's intended fallback protection if ML-KEM is later weakened. This issue is fixed in version 0.63.0.

Sep 29, 2026Russh is a Rust SSH client and server library.CVE-2026-102823 · Other software · Eugeny · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
Russh is a Rust SSH client and server library. Prior to 0.63.1, client_read_authenticated in russh/src/client/encrypted.rs forwards CHANNEL_DATA, CHANNEL_EXTENDED_DATA, CHANNEL_EOF, CHANNEL_CLOSE, CHANNEL_OPEN_FAILURE, CHANNEL_SUCCESS, CHANNEL_FAILURE, and CHANNEL_REQUEST subtypes exit-status, exit-signal, and xon-xoff to public client::Handler callbacks without confirming that the ChannelId belongs to a channel the client opened and established. A malicious SSH server can send lifecycle events for predicted, unopened, unconfirmed, or released channel identifiers, causing application panics or corrupting command completion and exit-code tracking. Sep 29, 2026Russh is a Rust SSH client and server library.CVE-2026-102822 · Other software · Eugeny · reported by GitHubLow 3.7
Russh is a Rust SSH client and server library. Prior to 0.63.1, a connection configured to permit mac=none can negotiate it with a MAC-requiring CTR or CBC block cipher because the selection logic validates needs_mac() only when MAC selection fails. A remote peer can then send a packet with a decrypted length of zero, causing russh/src/cipher/mod.rs to shrink the previously read block before indexing buffer.buffer[16..], which panics and terminates the connection task. Russh is a Rust SSH client and server library. Prior to 0.63.2, an authenticated remote peer can send SSH_MSG_KEXINIT without the required SSH_MSG_KEX_ECDH_INIT and then flood SSH_MSG_CHANNEL_OPEN messages while SessionKexState::InProgress prevents priority_receiver in russh/src/server/session.rs from being drained. pageant provides a [PageantStream] type that implements [AsyncRead] and [AsyncWrite] traits and can be used to talk to a running Pageant instance. Prior to pageant 0.2.3, the Windows pageant crate's pageant/src/wmmessage.rs MemoryMap::read function trusts a peer-controlled u32 response length supplied through the 8192-byte Pageant shared-memory mapping reached by AgentClient::connect_pageant. Sep 26, 2026Froxlor 2.3.10 and earlier contain a time-of-check time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition in the SSH key synchronization cron (lib/Froxlor/Cron/System/SshKeys.php,CVE-2026-100713 · Other software · froxlor · reported by VulnCheckHigh 7.1
Froxlor 2.3.10 and earlier contain a time-of-check time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition in the SSH key synchronization cron (lib/Froxlor/Cron/System/SshKeys.php, SshKeys::generateFiles). The containment/symlink validation performed by FileDir::makeCorrectDir()/makeCorrectFile() is done only at check time; the live filesystem path is re-resolved as root at write time (file_put_contents with FILE_APPEND|LOCK_EX, followed by chmod/chown/chgrp), with a database round-trip and file reads in between, and no path or file-descriptor pinning (no O_NOFOLLOW or openat2(RESOLVE_NO_SYMLINKS)). On installations where the non-default setting system.allow_customer_shell=1 grants customers local shell access, a customer can atomically swap their ~/.ssh directory for a symlink after the check and before the write, causing the root-run cron to append the customer's public key to /root/.ssh/authorized_keys and to chown /root/.ssh to the customer, resulting in full root compromise of the panel host. The cron re-runs on every interval, allowing unlimited attempts. This is a residual race that bypasses the check-time fix introduced for GHSA-mq5v-... . The issue is fixed in Froxlor 2.3.12.

Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities. From 2.4.1 until 2.5.1, an authenticated Termix administrator can store attacker-controlled domain and email values through PATCH /users/acme-ssl-settings and trigger their interpolation into a certbot shell command through POST /users/acme-ssl-request. Sep 24, 2026Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities.CVE-2026-79764 · Other software · Termix-SSH · reported by GitHubHigh 7.7
Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities. From 2.5.0 until 2.5.1, the /homepage/proxy endpoint accepts an authenticated user's url query parameter and passes it to http.get or https.get without destination restrictions. In src/backend/database/routes/homepage-proxy-routes.ts, new URL performs only syntactic validation, allowing requests to loopback, RFC1918, link-local, and cloud metadata destinations. The endpoint returns the complete fetched JSON response, so a low-privilege or self-registered account can exfiltrate internal service data and cloud credentials. This issue is fixed in version 2.5.1.

Sep 24, 2026Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities.CVE-2026-79763 · Other software · Termix-SSH · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3
Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities. From 2.4.0 until 2.5.1, the POST /users/totp/disable and POST /users/totp/backup-codes endpoints accept the account password as the sole reauthentication factor after a 2.4.0 refactor regressed the two-factor check introduced for CVE-2026-45749. In src/backend/database/routes/user-totp-routes.ts, verifyTotpReauth returns success when bcrypt.compare validates the password, while each endpoint chooses password or totp_code as an interchangeable credential. An attacker who has a victim's authenticated session and knows the password can disable TOTP or regenerate and invalidate backup codes without an authenticator or valid second factor, weakening the account to single-factor authentication. This issue is fixed in version 2.5.1.

Sep 24, 2026Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities.CVE-2026-79762 · Other software · Termix-SSH · reported by GitHubMedium 5.5
Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities. From 1.7.0 until 2.5.1, Termix derives the keys that wrap OIDC and WebAuthn users' Data Encryption Keys from committed default strings and the public userId salt in src/backend/utils/user-crypto.ts. Because OIDC_SYSTEM_SECRET and WEBAUTHN_SYSTEM_SECRET are not configured by the project's default deployment artifacts, an attacker with an offline SQLite database copy can derive the wrapping key, recover each affected user's DEK, and decrypt stored SSH passwords, private keys, and key passphrases. Password-authenticated users are not affected by this specific key derivation path. This issue is fixed in version 2.5.1.

Sep 24, 2026Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities.CVE-2026-79761 · Other software · Termix-SSH · reported by GitHubMedium 6.6
Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities. From 1.7.0 until 2.5.1, the Termix SSH key deployment flow derives a grep pattern from a user-controlled public-key token and interpolates it into double-quoted shell commands executed on the selected target host. In src/backend/database/routes/credential-deploy-routes.ts, both grep -F verification paths accept command substitution or quote-breaking shell syntax in keyPattern. An authenticated user who can deploy a crafted SSH credential can therefore execute commands with the selected remote account's privileges. The separate ACME command-injection report is outside this CVE's scope. This issue is fixed in version 2.5.1.

Sep 24, 2026Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities.CVE-2026-79760 · Other software · Termix-SSH · reported by GitHubMedium 6.4
Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities. From 2.5.0 until 2.5.1, Termix allows authenticated users to configure webhook or ntfy notification channels with attacker-controlled destination URLs and trigger server-side requests through the notification-channel test endpoint. The request path in src/backend/database/routes/alert-rules-routes.ts reaches src/backend/utils/notification-sender.ts without destination allowlisting or private-address blocking. This permits blind requests to internal HTTP services reachable by the Termix server. Webhook mode also permits attacker-controlled HTTP methods and headers, which can cause limited state changes when an internal service accepts the fixed notification body, although response bodies are not returned. This issue is fixed in version 2.5.1.

Sep 24, 2026Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities.CVE-2026-79759 · Other software · Termix-SSH · reported by GitHubMedium 4.3
Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities. From 1.7.0 until 2.5.1, the POST /credentials/:id/deploy-to-host endpoint resolves credential and target-host records from attacker-controlled credentialId and targetHostId integer values without checking that either record belongs to the requesting user. In src/backend/database/routes/credentials.ts, differential errors reveal whether credential and host records exist and disclose each record's authType value. Properly encrypted passwords and keys are not disclosed, but a key-authenticated victim host can receive an outbound SSH connection attempt using the attacker's public key. This issue is fixed in version 2.5.1.

Sep 24, 2026Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities.CVE-2026-79758 · Other software · Termix-SSH · reported by GitHubMedium 5.4
Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities. From 1.8.0 until 2.5.1, authenticated Termix users can access the server-stats API without per-host authorization. GET /status returns statuses for hosts the requester cannot access, GET /status/:id accepts an attacker-supplied numeric host identifier, and POST /clear-connections permits a regular user to clear the global SSH connection pool. The affected src/backend/ssh/server-stats.ts routes expose host online or offline state and lastChecked timestamps and can disrupt other users' active sessions or pooled connections. Unauthenticated requests remain blocked, but authentication alone does not preserve tenant isolation. This issue is fixed in version 2.5.1.

Sep 22, 2026Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in Erlang/OTP ssh allows an authenticated remote attacker to exhaust node memory by repeatedlCVE-2026-68956 · Other software · Erlang · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 7.1
Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in Erlang/OTP ssh allows an authenticated remote attacker to exhaust node memory by repeatedly opening session channels that are never assigned a handler. The "session" clause of ssh_connection:handle_msg/4 checks only minimal_remote_max_packet_size before calling setup_session/5, which unconditionally builds a #channel{} record and stores it in the ETS channel cache. The max_channels daemon option is consulted only by ssh_channel_sup:max_num_channels_not_exceeded/2, which counts supervisor children, so a channel that never gets a shell, exec, or subsystem handler is invisible to the limit and setting the option to a finite value does not mitigate the attack. RFC 4254 section 5.1 permits many session channels per connection, and each record costs only a few hundred bytes, so a single authenticated connection can accumulate channels until the node runs out of memory and the emulator terminates, affecting every application on it. No file contents, credentials, or write access are obtainable. This issue affects OTP from OTP 18.1.2 before OTP 27.3.4.18, OTP 28.5.0.7, and OTP 29.1.1, corresponding to ssh from 4.1.1 bef

Sep 21, 2026Warpgate is an open source SSH, HTTPS and MySQL bastion host for Linux.CVE-2026-91167 · Other software · warp-tech · reported by GitHubMedium 6
Warpgate is an open source SSH, HTTPS and MySQL bastion host for Linux. Prior to 0.28.4, PUT /@warpgate/admin/api/users/:id/roles/:role_id reaches api_update_user_role in warpgate-admin/src/api/users.rs through AdminContext but does not require AdminPermission::AccessRolesAssign. A limited administrator with any permission can update expires_at on an existing UserRoleAssignment and clear revoked_at, extending an expiring grant or reinstating a revoked grant. The endpoint cannot create a role assignment that never existed because it returns not found without a matching user and role pair. This issue is fixed in version 0.28.4.

Sep 21, 2026Warpgate is an open source SSH, HTTPS and MySQL bastion host for Linux.CVE-2026-91166 · Other software · warp-tech · reported by GitHubMedium 5.7
Warpgate is an open source SSH, HTTPS and MySQL bastion host for Linux. From 0.25.0 until 0.27.6, the browser SSH path in warpgate-web-ssh/src/manager.rs handles RCEvent::HostKeyUnknown without the presenting hop identity and instead passes ssh_options.host and ssh_options.port for the final target to KnownHosts::trust. In Prompt and AutoAccept modes, a jump host key can therefore be stored for the target address. A machine later presenting the jump host key at the target address can be accepted as the target, allowing interception of user traffic and a newly issued certificate when certificate authentication is used. The native SSH path is unaffected because it tracks each hop separately. This issue is fixed in version 0.27.6.

Sep 21, 2026Warpgate is an open source SSH, HTTPS and MySQL bastion host for Linux.CVE-2026-91165 · Other software · warp-tech · reported by GitHubLow 2.4
Warpgate is an open source SSH, HTTPS and MySQL bastion host for Linux. Prior to 0.27.6, the response_mode=form_post SSO return path in warpgate-protocol-http/src/api/sso_provider_list.rs uses serde_json::to_string inside ReturnToSsoPostResponse without neutralizing a script-closing sequence. The vulnerable value can enter the script block through the attacker-controlled next redirect parameter stored by warpgate-protocol-http/src/api/sso_provider_detail.rs or through IdP-derived error messages that make_redirect_url concatenates without URL encoding. The IdP-derived path is reachable when the attacker controls a configured identity provider, or when the attacker controls the email or username claim on an attacker-controlled account and the configured identity provider permits the required unvalidated claim format. A victim must complete the form_post SSO flow for the injected markup to be rendered. The Warpgate Content-Security-Policy blocks injected JavaScript and event handlers, so the demonstrated impact is content spoofing, a false login form, or a meta refresh rather than script execution. This issue is fixed in version 0.27.6.

Sep 21, 2026Warpgate is an open source SSH, HTTPS and MySQL bastion host for Linux.CVE-2026-91164 · Other software · warp-tech · reported by GitHubMedium 4.3
Warpgate is an open source SSH, HTTPS and MySQL bastion host for Linux. From 0.23.0 until 0.27.3, HTTP API token authentication resolves ConfigProvider::validate_api_token into RequestAuthorization::UserToken without enforcing the owning user's allowed_ip_ranges against the trusted client address in warpgate-protocol-http/src/common.rs. An attacker holding a leaked, phished, or exfiltrated X-Warpgate-Token can therefore use it from a prohibited network location. Deployments without allowed_ip_ranges are unaffected, and HTTP target proxying plus SSH, MySQL, PostgreSQL, RDP, VNC, and Kubernetes paths do not accept this vulnerable HTTP token flow. This issue is fixed in version 0.27.3.

Sep 21, 2026Warpgate is an open source SSH, HTTPS and MySQL bastion host for Linux.CVE-2026-63329 · Other software · warp-tech · reported by GitHubMedium 4.9
Warpgate is an open source SSH, HTTPS and MySQL bastion host for Linux. Prior to 0.25.6, copy_server_request in warpgate-protocol-http/src/proxy.rs forwards a client-supplied x-warpgate-username header before inject_own_headers appends the authenticated username. Because the request builder preserves repeated values, a proxied backend that trusts the first x-warpgate-username value can authorize an authenticated attacker as another user. The same forwarding policy also accepts the reserved x-warpgate-authentication-type header, and warpgate-common/src/http_headers.rs does not exclude either reserved identity header. This issue is fixed in version 0.25.6.

Sep 21, 2026Warpgate is an open source SSH, HTTPS and MySQL bastion host for Linux.CVE-2026-58491 · Other software · warp-tech · reported by GitHubCritical 9.3
Warpgate is an open source SSH, HTTPS and MySQL bastion host for Linux. Prior to 0.25.5, the /@warpgate/api/sso/providers/:name/start endpoint stores an attacker-controlled next parameter that the POST /@warpgate/api/sso/return handler inserts without HTML escaping into the response generated by warpgate-protocol-http/src/api/sso_provider_list.rs. A victim who follows a crafted link and completes SSO can cause markup and JavaScript to execute in the authenticated Warpgate origin, allowing access to session data and actions through user APIs, and through administrator APIs only when the victim is an administrator. The GET /@warpgate/api/sso/return path also uses the same unvalidated value as a redirect destination, enabling an open redirect. This issue is fixed in version 0.25.5.

Sep 16, 2026AsyncSSH is a Python package which provides an asynchronous client and server implementation of the SSHv2 protocol on top of the Python asyncio framework.CVE-2026-62949 · Other software · ronf · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5
AsyncSSH is a Python package which provides an asynchronous client and server implementation of the SSHv2 protocol on top of the Python asyncio framework. Prior to 2.24.0, _process_channel_open and _process_channel_open_confirmation in asyncssh/connection.py accept a peer-supplied send_pktsize value of zero. When channel data reaches SSHChannel._flush_send_buf in asyncssh/channel.py, the zero value causes each loop iteration to slice and remove zero bytes without reducing the send window, leaving the synchronous loop permanently true with no await point. A malicious SSH server can trigger the client path through SSH_MSG_CHANNEL_OPEN_CONFIRMATION before the first channel write, while an authenticated client can trigger the server path through SSH_MSG_CHANNEL_OPEN and freeze every current and future connection handled by the process. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.24.0.

Sep 16, 2026SSH.NET is a Secure Shell (SSH) library for .NET.CVE-2026-85756 · Other software · sshnet · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
SSH.NET is a Secure Shell (SSH) library for .NET. Prior to 2026.0.0, ScpClient places caller-supplied remote paths into the command used to run scp on the server, and the default RemotePathTransformation.DoubleQuote transformation cannot safely quote every remote command interpreter. When an application passes an attacker-controlled path to a shell-based server, shell metacharacters not neutralized by the active IRemotePathTransformation can execute commands as the authenticated SSH user. Exploitation requires a shell-based server and a path crafted for that shell's parsing rules; non-shell servers and paths fully neutralized by the selected transformation are not affected. RemotePathTransformation.ShellQuote is available for POSIX shells, while SftpClient avoids a remote shell entirely. This issue is fixed in version 2026.0.0.
