Sep 23, 2026Plex Media Server before 1.43.3.10861 builds a file path from the url parameter without checking it for ../ sequences, allowing path traversal via '/system/agenCVE-2026-96651 · Other software · Plex · reported by 9119a7d8-5eab-497f-8521-727c672e3725High 7.1
Plex Media Server before 1.43.3.10861 builds a file path from the url parameter without checking it for ../ sequences, allowing path traversal via '/system/agents/media/get'. A remote attacker with a valid session token could read any file that the target user can access. This access includes the PlexOnlineToken, which grants control of the Plex account and server. A LAN-adjacent attacker with a client-supplied X-Forwarded-For header could exploit the same issue.

Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: coresight: etm4x: fix underflow for usage of (nrseqstate - 1) According to IHI006H EmbeddeCVE-2026-90274 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: coresight: etm4x: fix underflow for usage of (nrseqstate - 1) According to IHI006H Embedded Trace Macrocell Architecture Specification[0], TRCSEQEVR<n> is implemented only when TRCIDR5.NUMSEQSTATE is 0b100, in which case n ranges from 0 to 2; otherwise, TRCIDR5.NUMSEQSTATE is 0b000. IOW, the number of usage in the initialisation or setting TRCSEQEVR<n> with drvdata->nrseqstate - 1 in the loop could make underflow issue when TRCIDR5.NUMSEQSTATE is 0b000. Therefore, introduce nr_seq_ctrls field and untie it from nrseqstate. As part of this introduce ETM_MAX_SEQ_TRANSITIONS macro and apply nr_seq_ctrls and above macro to TRCSEQEVR<n> relevant fields setup.

Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: seq: Don't leak the extension cell pointer in the bounce payload The bounce_error_evCVE-2026-90220 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: seq: Don't leak the extension cell pointer in the bounce payload The bounce_error_event() embeds the failed event in the bounce payload by pointing data.ext.ptr at it. When that event is a queued variable-length event, its own data.ext.ptr holds the address of its first extension cell, put there by snd_seq_event_dup(). The payload goes out verbatim through snd_seq_expand_var_event(), so the address reaches userspace. That is the same address commit 705dd6dcbc0e ("ALSA: seq: Clear variable event pointer on read") removed from the event header. The read path still clears it there, just above the call that expands the payload. Embed a sanitised copy instead, treated exactly as snd_seq_read() treats the header. A stack copy is enough because delivery is synchronous and snd_seq_event_dup() copies before returning. An unprivileged client reaches this by setting SNDRV_SEQ_FILTER_BOUNCE, queueing a variable-length event to a port that does not exist and reading the bounce back. Eight bytes on 64-bit, from its own pool.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: seq: midi: Serialize input teardown with event_input snd_midi_input_event() must not be running while a rawmidi substream is closing, since this can lead to the trigger state becoming out-of-step through this sequence in snd_rawmidi_input_trigger(): snd_rawmidi_input_trigger(up=0) snd_midi_input_event() -> snd_rawmidi_kernel_read() -> snd_rawmidi_input_trigger(up=1) -> cancel_work_sync() which ends with the underlying device being active unexpectedly. Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: validate usa_ofs before preserving the update sequence number When ntfs_mft_record_aCVE-2026-90117 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: validate usa_ofs before preserving the update sequence number When ntfs_mft_record_alloc() reuses a free mft record it reads the old update sequence number straight from the on-disk record: usn = *(__le16 *)((u8 *)m + le16_to_cpu(m->usa_ofs)); Here m points into the raw $MFT page-cache folio, which still holds unvalidated, MST-protected bytes: the folio is read by a plain iomap_read_folio() and neither post_read_mst_fixup() nor ntfs_mft_record_check() has run on it (both work on private copies). m->usa_ofs is therefore an untrusted u16, and a corrupted record can put it past the end of the record so the two-byte read lands outside the folio. Reading such a record while creating a file gives, under KASAN: BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in ntfs_mft_record_alloc+... Read of size 2 at addr ... ntfs_mft_record_alloc -> __ntfs_create -> ntfs_create -> path_openat Only preserve the old update sequence number when usa_ofs is even and in range, mirroring the check ntfs_mft_record_check() already applies; otherwise leave usn zero, which the existing restore below skips.

Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSv4.1: zero referring call lists before decoding decode_cb_sequence_args() allocates csaCVE-2026-90104 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSv4.1: zero referring call lists before decoding decode_cb_sequence_args() allocates csa_rclists with kmalloc_objs(), so each referring_call_list starts uninitialized. decode_rc_list() assigns rcl_refcalls only when rcl_nrefcalls is nonzero. A valid list with zero referring calls therefore leaves the pointer uninitialized, and nfs4_callback_sequence() later passes stale slab contents to kfree(). Allocate csa_rclists with kzalloc_objs() so every rcl_refcalls member is NULL from the beginning, including valid empty referring call lists.

Sep 16, 2026A flaw was found in sequoia-openpgp.CVE-2026-42784 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatHigh 7.4
A flaw was found in sequoia-openpgp. The library incorrectly infers key flags for older certificates when a key flags subpacket is missing, leading to a discrepancy in how key capabilities are viewed. This key flag confusion allows an attacker to bypass the back-signature check. Consequently, an attacker can illegitimately bind an arbitrary subkey to their own certificate and forge signatures, completely compromising cryptographic integrity.

Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: don't free session slots that are still in use nfsd4_sequence() can free the very slCVE-2026-89689 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: don't free session slots that are still in use nfsd4_sequence() can free the very slot it is currently processing. When the session shrinker has reduced se_target_maxslots below se_fchannel.maxreqs, the shrink path checks three conditions before calling free_session_slots(): 1. se_target_maxslots < maxreqs (shrink was advertised) 2. slot->sl_generation == se_slot_gen (slot is up-to-date) 3. seq->maxslots <= se_target_maxslots (client acknowledges) However, seq->slotid is never checked against se_target_maxslots. A client using a slot in the range [se_target_maxslots, maxreqs) can satisfy all three conditions: its slot has the current generation (set by a prior SEQUENCE), and it sends sa_highest_slotid <= se_target_maxslots to acknowledge the reduction. free_session_slots() then kfrees every slot at index >= se_target_maxslots, including the caller's own slot. The function continues to write sl_seqid, sl_flags, sl_generation, and stores the dangling pointer in cstate->slot. Later, nfsd4_store_cache_entry() copies up to maxresp_cached bytes of the compound reply into the freed sl_data[] array, cor

Sep 11, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: drop the stateid, not the stateowner, on seqid_op replay retry In nfs4_preprocess_seCVE-2026-89688 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: drop the stateid, not the stateowner, on seqid_op replay retry In nfs4_preprocess_seqid_op() the stateid is obtained from nfsd4_lookup_stateid(), which holds a reference on the nfs4_stid (sc_count) but takes no reference on the stateowner. openlockstateid() merely casts that stid and likewise takes no reference. When nfsd4_cstate_assign_replay() returns -EAGAIN (the replay owner is being torn down, RP_UNHASHED) it has not taken a stateowner reference on that path. The error handling nevertheless called nfs4_put_stateowner(stp->st_stateowner), dropping an so_count reference the function never acquired -- risking a stateowner refcount underflow and use-after-free -- while leaking the sc_count reference held on the stid. The leaked stid reference can also stall a concurrent nfsd4_close_open_stateid() waiting for sc_count to drop. Drop the reference actually held -- the stid -- before retrying. The stateowner stays alive through the reference held by the stid. This mirrors the open path in nfsd4_process_open1(), where the put balances a reference that path explicitly holds on the stateowner.

Sep 7, 2026Improper Neutralization of Escape, Meta, or Control Sequences vulnerability in ash-project usage_rules allows a malicious package publisher to inject terminal cCVE-2026-82710 · Other software · ash-project · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbLow 2.3
Improper Neutralization of Escape, Meta, or Control Sequences vulnerability in ash-project usage_rules allows a malicious package publisher to inject terminal control sequences into the output of mix usage_rules.search_docs. mix usage_rules.search_docs searches Hex documentation through search.hexdocs.pm, which indexes the documentation of every published package, and prints the matching results (title, package, type, doc reference, and highlighted snippets) to the terminal. The formatter in Mix.Tasks.UsageRules.SearchDocs interpolated those publisher-controlled fields verbatim, neutralizing no terminal control characters; the only transform it applied adds escape sequences rather than removing them. A malicious package can embed ANSI terminal escape sequences (cursor movement, line erase, carriage returns, OSC 52 clipboard writes) in its indexed documentation, so when a developer runs a search that surfaces those docs the sequences reach the terminal unchanged — forging the displayed hexdocs URL or a suggested command, hiding text, or writing to the clipboard. No authentication or privileged position is required; only publishing a package. This issue affects usage_rules: from 0.

Sep 7, 2026Improper Neutralization of Escape, Meta, or Control Sequences vulnerability in ash-project igniter allows a malicious package publisher to forge the mix igniterCVE-2026-82584 · Other software · ash-project · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbLow 2.3
Improper Neutralization of Escape, Meta, or Control Sequences vulnerability in ash-project igniter allows a malicious package publisher to forge the mix igniter.install confirmation prompt. mix igniter.install prints a confirmation panel (an anti-typosquatting safeguard) listing a package's hex metadata before adding it. The panel builder in Igniter.Project.Deps wrote publisher-controlled fields (meta.description, owner usernames, requirement names, version) to the terminal with only newlines stripped. A malicious or typosquatted package can embed ANSI terminal escape sequences (cursor movement, line erase, carriage returns) in its metadata to overwrite the panel, forging trusted author names and download counts while concealing the real ones, so a developer relying on the panel to vet the package is deceived into approving a malicious dependency. This issue affects igniter: from 0.8.1 before 0.8.4.

Sep 4, 2026Improper neutralization of CRLF sequences in IXON VPN Client before version 1.4.7 allows an attacker to execute commands as root or SYSTEM.CVE-2026-75925 · Other software · IXON · reported by ics-cert@hq.dhs.govCritical 9.4
Improper neutralization of CRLF sequences in IXON VPN Client before version 1.4.7 allows an attacker to execute commands as root or SYSTEM. Configuration values accepted by the local service are written to a file later consumed by a privileged subprocess, without line-ending sequences being neutralized, which allows additional directives to be introduced into that file. The configuration interface accepts changes without authenticating or verifying the origin of the requester. The injected configuration persists on disk across restarts of the client and the operating system, and the VPN connection continues to function normally, so there is no behavioral change visible to the user.

Aug 28, 2026wolfEngine before 1.4.1 sources the explicit AES-CCM nonce for TLS 1.2 and DTLS 1.2 records from the record input buffer instead of the TLS sequence number carrCVE-2026-81341 · Other software · wolfSSL Inc. · reported by facts@wolfssl.comMedium 6.5
wolfEngine before 1.4.1 sources the explicit AES-CCM nonce for TLS 1.2 and DTLS 1.2 records from the record input buffer instead of the TLS sequence number carried in the additional authenticated data. Because the record layer leaves the explicit-nonce field for the cipher to populate, the value read is constant across records, so every AES-CCM record within a connection is encrypted under an identical key and nonce pair. Reusing a CCM key and nonce weakens confidentiality (identical keystream across records, so a known record recovers the others) and integrity (authentication tag forgery). Only wolfEngine is affected; wolfProvider is not. AES-GCM under wolfEngine is tracked separately. AES-CCM cipher suites are not enabled by default and must be explicitly selected, which limits exposure. TLS 1.3 and non-TLS use of the cipher are not affected.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: seq: oss: Serialize readq reset state with q->lock snd_seq_oss_readq_clear() resets qlen, head, and tail without q->lock even though the normal reader and producer paths serialize the same ring state under that spinlock. A reset can therefore race snd_seq_oss_readq_free() or snd_seq_oss_readq_put_event() and leave stale records in the queue, drop freshly queued ones, or report the wrong readiness after wakeup. KCSAN reports a data race between snd_seq_oss_readq_clear() and snd_seq_oss_readq_free(). Take q->lock while clearing the ring and resetting input_time. Factor the enqueue logic into a caller-locked helper so snd_seq_oss_readq_put_timestamp() updates its suppression state under the same lock instead of racing the reset path. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: l2tp: fix tunnel and session refcount leak on seq_file release In pppol2tp_proc_open() and l2tp_dfs_seq_open(), iteration state (pd->tunnel and pd->session) is kept in seq_file private data to allow iteration across multiple read() system calls. However, if userspace closes /proc/net/pppol2tp or /sys/kernel/debug/l2tp/tunnels before reading to end-of-file (EOF), any tunnel or session reference stored in pd->tunnel / pd->session is left un-dropped when seq_file private data is freed. Fix this by dropping any remaining pd->tunnel and pd->session references in pppol2tp_proc_release() and l2tp_dfs_seq_release() when closing the file.

Aug 20, 2026Improper Neutralization of CRLF Sequences ('CRLF Injection') vulnerability in mtrudel bandit allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to smuggle CR, LF, or NULCVE-2026-75484 · Other software · mtrudel · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbMedium 6.9
Improper Neutralization of CRLF Sequences ('CRLF Injection') vulnerability in mtrudel bandit allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to smuggle CR, LF, or NUL characters into application-visible request headers via HTTP/2. Bandit.HTTP2.Stream.read_headers/1 validates pseudo-header placement and uniqueness, header-name casing, connection-specific headers, the te value, and content-length, but never checks field values. Because HPACK carries arbitrary octets, a HEADERS block whose field values contain \r, \n, or \0 decodes without error and the values land in conn.req_headers unchanged. The HTTP/1 path already rejects the same octets; HTTP/2 did not. Bandit itself is not a sink for the injected bytes: its own logging uses fixed strings or inspect, and HTTP/2 response headers are HPACK-encoded and separately rejected by Plug's put_resp_header, so response splitting is not reachable through this path. The risk is entirely in how a downstream application consumes header values, such as appending one verbatim to a plain-text log or concatenating it into an upstream request. A related gap bundled in the same fix: only :method, :scheme, and :path were checked for at most one occurrence;

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: seq: Fix division by zero in initialize_timer() A userspace-driven ALSA timer (SND_UTIMER) lets an unprivileged user set the backing snd_timer's hardware resolution to an arbitrary 64-bit value via SNDRV_TIMER_IOCTL_CREATE. snd_utimer_create() only rejects zero. When such a timer is bound to a sequencer queue, initialize_timer() computes the tick period as tmr->ticks = 1000000000 / (r * freq); where r is that user-controlled resolution and freq is the sequencer update rate in Hz, clamped to MIN_FREQUENCY..MAX_FREQUENCY (10..6250). A resolution of 2^63 makes the 64-bit product r * freq wrap to zero for any even freq, including DEFAULT_FREQUENCY (1000), so the division faults with a divide-by-zero. The division runs under tmr->lock with interrupts disabled, so the oops leaves the spinlock held and hangs the CPU. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: seq: oss: Fix UAF at handling events with embedded SysEx data The OSS sequencer processes the input MIDI bytes into a sequencer event to be dispatched later (in snd_seq_oss_midi_putc() called from snd_seq_oss_process_event()). When it's a SysEx data, the event record contains data.ext.ptr pointer to the original SysEx bytes, and the referred data is copied into the pool afterwards at dispatching. The problem is that, if the sequencer port gets closed concurrently before the dispatch, the OSS sequencer core also releases the resources (in snd_seq_oss_midi_check_exit_port()), while the pending event may hold a stale pointer, eventually leading to a UAF at a later dispatch. Fortunately, there is already a refcounting mechanism (snd_use_lock_t) for the OSS MIDI device access, and for addressing the issue above, we just need to extend the refcount until the event gets dispatched. This patch extends snd_seq_oss_process_event() to give back the refcount object, which is in turn released after calling the sequencer dispatcher with the given event in the caller side. According to the original report, KASAN repor

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: seq: midi: Serialize output teardown with event_input event_process_midi() borrows msynth->output_rfile.output and then passes the substream to dump_midi() and snd_rawmidi_kernel_write() without synchronizing with the output open/close transition. midisynth_use() also publishes output_rfile before snd_rawmidi_output_params() has finished. The last midisynth_unuse() can therefore release the same rawmidi file and free substream->runtime before snd_rawmidi_kernel_write1() takes its runtime buffer reference. That leaves the event_input path using a stale substream or runtime and can end in a NULL-deref or use-after-free. Fix this with two pieces of synchronization. Keep a short IRQ-safe spinlock only for publishing or clearing output_rfile and for pairing the output snapshot with an snd_use_lock_t reference. Once event_process_midi() has taken that in-flight reference, it drops the spinlock before calling snd_seq_dump_var_event(), dump_midi(), or snd_rawmidi_kernel_write(). midisynth_unuse() now detaches the visible rawmidi file under the same spinlock, waits for the in-flight writers to drain, and only then

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: seq: Clear variable event pointer on read snd_seq_read() copies a queued variable-length event header to userspace before expanding the payload. Queued variable-length events use SNDRV_SEQ_EXT_CHAINED internally, and data.ext.ptr points at the first extension cell. The read side strips SNDRV_SEQ_EXT_* bits from data.ext.len before the copy, but it leaves data.ext.ptr untouched. A userspace sequencer client can therefore write a direct variable event to itself and read back the extension-cell kernel address from the returned header. Clear the temporary header pointer before copy_to_user(). The original queued event remains unchanged and is still passed to snd_seq_expand_var_event(), so payload expansion keeps using the internal chain.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: seq: Fix kernel heap address leak in bounce_error_event() The comment above bounce_error_event() documents that user clients should receive SNDRV_SEQ_EVENT_BOUNCE with the original event embedded as variable-length data, while kernel clients should receive SNDRV_SEQ_EVENT_KERNEL_ERROR with a quoted kernel pointer. However, the implementation unconditionally uses SNDRV_SEQ_EVENT_KERNEL_ERROR with data.quote.event set to the raw struct snd_seq_event pointer for all clients. When a bounce error event is delivered to a USER_CLIENT via snd_seq_read(), the kernel heap address in data.quote.event is exposed to userspace through copy_to_user() in the fixed-length branch. This is a distinct leak path from the one addressed by commit 705dd6dcbc0e ("ALSA: seq: Clear variable event pointer on read"), which sanitizes data.ext.ptr in the variable-length branch of snd_seq_read(). The bounce_error_event() leak uses fixed-length events that take the else branch where no sanitization occurs. Differentiate the bounce event by client type. For USER_CLIENT, send SNDRV_SEQ_EVENT_BOUNCE with SNDRV_SEQ_EVENT_LENGTH_VARIABLE

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: seq: avoid stale FIFO cells during resize snd_seq_fifo_resize() still needs to publish the replacement pool before it waits for FIFO users. A blocking snd_seq_read() holds f->use_lock while it sleeps, so concurrent senders must be able to queue to the new pool and wake that reader instead of failing against a closing old pool. However, snd_seq_fifo_event_in() duplicates an event before it takes f->lock, and snd_seq_read() can dequeue a cell and later call snd_seq_fifo_cell_putback() if copy_to_user() or snd_seq_expand_var_event() fails. If resize swaps f->pool and detaches oldhead in between, either path can relink an old-pool cell after the snapshot. That stale cell sits outside the drained oldhead list, keeps oldpool->counter elevated, and can leave snd_seq_pool_delete() waiting for the retired pool to drain. Keep the existing swap-before-wait ordering in snd_seq_fifo_resize(), but reject stale cells before any FIFO relink. Revalidate event-in cells under f->lock and retry them against the published replacement pool, and free stale putback cells instead of linking them back into the FIFO. The buggy sce

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tpm: Make the TPM character devices non-seekable The TPM character devices expose a sequential command/response interface, but their open handlers leave FMODE_PREAD and FMODE_PWRITE enabled. After a command leaves a response pending, pread(fd, buf, 16, 0x1400) passes 0x1400 as *off to tpm_common_read(). The transfer length is bounded by response_length, but the offset is used unchecked when forming data_buffer + *off. A sufficiently large offset therefore causes an out-of-bounds heap read through copy_to_user() and, if the copy succeeds, an out-of-bounds zero-write through the following memset(). Positional I/O does not provide coherent semantics for this interface. An arbitrary pread offset cannot represent how much of a response has been consumed sequentially. The write callback always stores a command at the start of data_buffer, while pwrite() does not update file->f_pos and can leave the sequential read cursor stale. Call nonseekable_open() from both open handlers. This removes FMODE_PREAD and FMODE_PWRITE, causing positional reads and writes to fail with -ESPIPE before reaching the TPM callbacks, and exp

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipvs: reset full ip_vs_seq structs in ip_vs_conn_new Commit 9a05475cebdd ("ipvs: avoid kmem_cache_zalloc in ip_vs_conn_new") changed ip_vs_conn_new() to allocate an ip_vs_conn object with kmem_cache_alloc(). The function then initializes many fields explicitly, but only resets in_seq.delta and out_seq.delta in the two struct ip_vs_seq members. That leaves init_seq and previous_delta uninitialized. This is normally harmless while the corresponding IP_VS_CONN_F_IN_SEQ or IP_VS_CONN_F_OUT_SEQ flag is clear. For connections learned from a sync message, however, ip_vs_proc_conn() preserves those flags from IP_VS_CONN_F_BACKUP_MASK and passes opt=NULL when the message omits IPVS_OPT_SEQ_DATA. In that case the new connection can be hashed with SEQ flags set but with the rest of in_seq/out_seq still containing stale slab data. When a packet for such a connection is later handled by an IPVS application helper, vs_fix_seq() and vs_fix_ack_seq() use previous_delta and init_seq to rewrite TCP sequence numbers. A malformed sync message can therefore make forwarded packets carry stale slab bytes in their TCP seq/ack num
