  • Sep 29, 2026An unauthenticated client can drain the RTSP server's packet pool with a couple of dozen requests that carry a Session header the parser cannot convert.CVE-2026-102716 · Other software · Eclipse Foundation · reported by emo@eclipse.orgHigh 8.7

An unauthenticated client can drain the RTSP server's packet pool with a couple of dozen requests that carry a Session header the parser cannot convert. The Session branch returns the raw NetX error code instead of an RTSP status code: ```c /* addons/rtsp/nx_rtsp_server.c:2754 */ status = _nx_utility_string_to_uint(field_value_ptr, field_value_length, &session_id); if (status) { return(status); /* NX_INVALID_PARAMETERS / NX_SIZE_ERROR / NX_OVERFLOW */ } ``` Every other branch of the same function maps its failure to an RTSP status first. The CSeq branch eighteen lines earlier does exactly that (line 2736 returns NX_RTSP_STATUS_CODE_BAD_REQUEST). The raw code then reaches `_nx_rtsp_server_error_response_send` (nx_rtsp_server.c:1234), which does not recognise it, takes a path that returns without releasing the response packet it already allocated, and the block never goes back to the pool. Six requests with an empty Session header against a 22 packet pool: ``` valid requests: after request 6: pool available = 21, AFTER = 22 / 22 malformed requests: after request 6: pool available = 16, AFTER = 17 / 22 ``` On

ieee802154_send() in subsys/net/l2/ieee802154/ieee802154.c copies the outgoing packet into a single fixed 125-byte transmit buffer (tx_frame_buf_pool, sized IEEE802154_MTU). In builds with CONFIG_NET_L2_IEEE802154_FRAGMENT enabled (the default whenever CONFIG_NET_6LO is set), the branch taken when 6LoWPAN fragmentation is not required performed an unchecked net_buf_add_mem(frame_buf, pkt_buf->data, pkt_buf->len). The only guard was __ASSERT_NO_MSG() inside net_buf_simple_add(), which is compiled out without CONFIG_ASSERT, so an oversized packet silently overran the frame buffer. The defect is not reachable from the radio: for NET_AF_INET6 packets ieee802154_6lo_encode_pkt() compares the whole packet length against IEEE802154_MTU and takes the fragmentation path when it does not fit, so every buffer copied on the unfragmented branch is within bounds. It is reachable through NET_AF_PACKET sockets bound to an 802.15.4 interface: for NET_SOCK_RAW the 6LoWPAN block is skipped entirely and for NET_SOCK_DGRAM it returns early on the address-family test, leaving no length validation anywhere on the transmit path (net_context_sendto() and net_if_tx() apply none, and pkt_buffer_length() doe

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: cls_u32: fix duplicate handle when node ID pool is exhausted gen_new_kid() fallCVE-2026-98104 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: cls_u32: fix duplicate handle when node ID pool is exhausted gen_new_kid() falls back to returning max (htid | 0xFFF) when both idr_alloc_u32() ranges are full, instead of reporting an error. u32_change() trusts that value and inserts a new knode with a handle that is already live in the hash table, breaking handle uniqueness within the table's node ID space. The handle was never reserved in ht->handle_idr, so every later error path that does idr_remove(&ht->handle_idr, handle) removes the reservation of a different, live knode, which is then reused — one failed add compounds into further duplicates. The 4095 limit is per (table, bucket) — ht->handle_idr is per hash table and the range is derived from htid (bucketid), so a table with divisor 256 can legitimately hold 256*4095 knodes. The sibling helper gen_new_htid() has the same silent in-band failure: it returns 0 when the tp_c handle pool (1..0x7FF) is full, and u32_init() publishes the root hash table with handle 0 without checking. Two root tables with handle 0 alias in u32_lookup_ht(), allowing cross-tcf_proto knode add/lookup/delete. Add th

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: preserve LZMA decoders on resize failure The pool-resize path frees each stream's old decoder before allocating its replacement. If an allocation fails after some streams have already been replaced, the failed stream is put back on the list with state == NULL. z_erofs_lzma_max_dictsize is still advanced as if the whole pool had been resized. An existing LZMA mount can select the broken stream and pass NULL to xz_dec_microlzma_reset(). A retry at the same size also skip another resize attempt. Since the global maximum was advanced, thus, the invalid state is left unrepaired. Allocate each replacement before freeing the old decoder, temporarily retaining one old decoder during allocation. Stop at the first failure and advance z_erofs_lzma_max_dictsize only after all streams satisfy the request. Record each stream's dictionary capacity so retries can skip streams already enlarged before a partial failure.

In OpenStack Octavia before 18.0.1, the Amphora provider driver did not validate the listener and pool tls_ciphers field for control characters. If pool creation fails, probe still continues with DMA setup, algorithm registration and child population even though later request setup depends on that pool. Stop probing when sa_init_mem() fails, and route that failure to the PM cleanup path without attempting to destroy an uncreated DMA pool.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: swiotlb: Preserve allocation virtual address for dynamic pools swiotlb_alloc_tlb() can allocate from the DMA atomic pool when a decrypted pool is needed from atomic context. With CONFIG_DMA_DIRECT_REMAP, the atomic pool is backed by remapped virtual addresses, which are not the same as the direct-map addresses returned by phys_to_virt(). swiotlb_init_io_tlb_pool() currently reconstructs the pool virtual address from the physical start address. For atomic-pool backed allocations this stores the wrong address in pool->vaddr. Later, swiotlb_free_tlb() passes that address to dma_free_from_pool(), which will fail to recognize the chunk Pass the virtual address returned by the allocation path into swiotlb_init_io_tlb_pool(), and store that address in pool->vaddr. This keeps the pool free path using the same virtual address as the allocator.

Normally this will be the case for arrays that have the serialize_policy sysfs attribute set to 1. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme-pci: release descriptor pools on probe failure The per-NUMA-node descriptor DMA pools are created lazily from nvme_init_hctx_common() once the admin tag set is allocated, but they are only destroyed in nvme_remove() via nvme_release_descriptor_pools(). Any probe failure after the admin tag set has been allocated unwinds through the out_disable label and nvme_pci_free_ctrl(), neither of which releases the pools, leaking the dma_pool objects. Release the descriptor pools in the out_disable error path. It must not be added to nvme_pci_free_ctrl(), as that would double-free against nvme_remove() on the normal teardown path.

  • Sep 17, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: page_pool: fix UAF in __page_pool_release_netmem_dma on xa_cmpxchg race This bug was CVE-2026-90201 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: page_pool: fix UAF in __page_pool_release_netmem_dma on xa_cmpxchg race This bug was discovered while testing the hns3 driver under channel reconfiguration (`ethtool -L` / `ethtool -G`) with iperf3 traffic on arm64. The race is intermittently triggered when page_pool_destroy() runs page_pool_scrub() concurrently with page return via page_pool_put_netmem() on a different CPU. A WARN in page_pool_clear_pp_info() surfaced the dangling DMA index bits left by the cmpxchg loser, which led to the investigation. page_pool_scrub() iterates pool->dma_mapped via xa_for_each() with no page ref held. __page_pool_release_netmem_dma() currently reads and writes netmem fields (dma_addr, DMA index bits in pp_magic) after xa_cmpxchg() returns. The unref path calls put_page() unconditionally regardless of the cmpxchg outcome; when it loses the cmpxchg, it still frees the page before the scrub winner finishes these netmem accesses, so scrub touches a freed page -- a Use-After-Free. Fix this by splitting the DMA release into two functions: 1. __page_pool_unmap_netmem_dma() caches dma_addr before xa_cmpxchg(), does the cmpx

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: smbdirect: destroy QP before mem pools on accept failure On the rdma_accept_failed error path of smbdirect_accept_connect_request(), the receive io posted just above is owned by the QP (recv_io is set to NULL after a successful post). The error path fell through to smbdirect_connection_destroy_mem_pools() before smbdirect_connection_destroy_qp(), so the mem pools and the recv_io slab cache were destroyed while that recv_io was still outstanding on the QP. The drain in smbdirect_connection_destroy_qp() (ib_drain_qp()) is what runs the recv completion that returns the recv_io to the free list, so destroying the pools first leaves the object outstanding at kmem_cache_destroy() time ("Slab cache still has objects") and later frees it into an already-destroyed mempool (mempool_free_bulk NULL-pointer dereference). Give rdma_accept_failed its own teardown that drains the QP first, then destroys the mem pools, and returns. The remaining labels (post_recv_io_failed onward) run before the recv_io was ever posted, so they keep the mem-pools-then-qp order. The outstanding recv_io at kmem_cache_destroy() time: [ 34

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sunrpc: route to a populated pool in svc_pool_for_cpu() svc_set_num_threads() spreads the requested threads evenly across the service's pools (base = nrservs / sv_nrpools). When a service runs fewer threads than it has pools -- e.g. an nfsd configured with fewer threads than the host has NUMA nodes while running in "pernode" or "percpu" mode -- the trailing pools are left with no threads at all. svc_xprt_enqueue() selects a pool from the CPU servicing the transport, queues the transport on that pool's sp_xprts, and only wakes a thread from the same pool. Each thread services exclusively its own pool, so a transport that lands on a threadless pool is enqueued on sp_xprts and never picked up: the connection hangs indefinitely. Have svc_pool_for_cpu() skip pools that currently have no threads, falling back to the next populated pool. This trades NUMA locality for a guarantee that the work is actually serviced. sp_nrthreads is only updated under the service mutex; the lockless read here is a best-effort routing hint, so annotate it with data_race().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: SUNRPC: Check svc pool percpu counter allocation __svc_create() initializes three per-pool percpu_counter stats and ignores every return value. On SMP, percpu_counter_init() fails when __alloc_percpu_gfp() cannot satisfy the allocation, leaving the failed counter with fbc->counters == NULL and its embedded raw_spinlock_t, list_head, and count never initialized. __svc_create() returns the half-constructed svc_serv to nfsd, lockd, or the NFS callback service anyway. Once that service is live, the hot-path increments in svc_xprt_enqueue(), svc_handle_xprt(), and svc_pool_wake_idle_thread() reach a counter whose backing pointer is NULL. The pointer is a per-cpu offset, so the access does not fault: it resolves to offset zero of the current CPU's per-cpu area and silently corrupts whatever variable lives there. A /proc/fs/nfsd/pool_stats read walks the same NULL per-cpu storage and returns garbage, and on CONFIG_DEBUG_SPINLOCK or lockdep it splats on the never-initialized lock. Creating the broken service requires a percpu allocation failure during RPC server startup, so it is reachable only by a local administrator

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: cap LZMA stream pool size fs/erofs/decompressor_lzma.c sizes the module-global MicroLZMA stream pool from num_possible_cpus() when the lzma_streams module parameter is unset, then z_erofs_load_lzma_config() preallocates one image-supplied dictionary per stream, accepting dictionaries up to 8 MiB. On high-CPU systems, a small EROFS image can pin hundreds of MiB of vmalloc-backed decoder state until the erofs module is unloaded. Impact: An EROFS image mounted by the system can pin up to 8 MiB of vmalloc memory per LZMA stream, either as intended or unexpectedly. Bound the default stream count by a new CONFIG_EROFS_FS_ZIP_LZMA_DEFAULT_MAX_STREAMS option, default 16, so the worst-case default preallocation is 128 MiB if the number of CPUs is no less than 16 while preserving the existing per-image dictionary limit. An explicit lzma_streams module parameter is still honoured as-is, so administrators who deliberately size the pool are not affected.

undici's BalancedPool constructor passes its entire options object through an internal deep-clone that serializes and reparses the value as JSON. Because JSON cannot represent functions, any function-valued TLS option, such as a caller-supplied checkServerIdentity callback or a custom connector inside the connect option, is silently discarded before it reaches the TLS layer. As a result a peer whose certificate the application's custom checkServerIdentity was written to reject, but which still passes Node's default hostname and chain checks, is accepted when reached through BalancedPool. The Client, Pool, and Agent dispatchers are not affected because they extract the connect and tls options before cloning. This affects undici versions from 7.24.1 up to 7.29.1 and from 8.0.0 up to 8.10.2, and only when the application supplies a function-valued connect or tls option to BalancedPool. Users should upgrade to undici 7.29.1 or 8.10.2.

Gardens v2 is a modular governance framework that enables communities to create and manage multiple governance pools with customizable parameters and voting mechanisms. In 3e595f3 and prior, when a streaming proposal is funded, the cluster of streaming contracts moves real pool funds into the proposal's StreamingEscrow to back the Superfluid constant flow agreement (the CFA deposit, plus a 0.5 percent margin). cancelProposal then zeroes the escrow's GDA member units but never reclaims that parked balance, and the permissionless claim() forwards the escrow's entire balance, including the pool funded buffer, to the beneficiary. The beneficiary is chosen by the proposal submitter and defaults to the submitter. The only path that returns escrow funds to the pool is drainToStrategy, which is onlyStrategy and is reached solely from the dispute reject ruling, never from cancel or natural completion. At time of publication, there are no publicly known patches.

The Infineon Airoc Wi-Fi driver's transmit callback airoc_mgmt_send() in drivers/wifi/infineon/airoc_wifi.c allocates a net_buf from the fixed airoc_pool for every outbound packet. When whd_network_send_ethernet_data() returns a synchronous failure, the underlying WHD library does not take ownership of the buffer, but the pre-fix driver returned -EIO without releasing it. Each failed transmit therefore permanently leaks one buffer from the pool. airoc_pool is small and fixed (AIROC_WIFI_TX_PACKET_POOL_COUNT + AIROC_WIFI_RX_PACKET_POOL_COUNT, default 20 buffers) and is shared by WHD's whd_host_buffer_get callback for both transmit and receive. Once enough send failures have leaked the pool dry, airoc_wifi_host_buffer_get() returns WHD_BUFFER_ALLOC_FAIL for all subsequent allocations, so both transmit and the WHD-driven receive path fail and Wi-Fi connectivity is lost until the device is rebooted. The leak occurs only on the transmit error path. A Wi-Fi-adjacent attacker can influence the conditions that cause synchronous send failures (for example by deauthenticating/disassociating the station while the local stack continues to attempt transmits), and ordinary transient failures o

Fix by Introducing push_queue_to_queue_locked() that fills the destination's partial tail page from the source and then splices the remaining source pages onto the destination, performing no allocation. Replace the per-handle move loop in age_pinned_pool() and the open-coded splice in pool_aging_work() with calls to the helper. As the helper cannot fail under memory pressure, removing a class of GFP_ATOMIC allocations under the pool lock and simplifying the error flow.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: dma-axi-dmac: use DMA pool to manange DMA descriptor For architectures like Microblaze or arm64 (where this IP is used), DMA_DIRECT_REMAP is set which means that dma_alloc_coherent() might remap (and hence vmalloc()) some memory. This became visible in a design where dma_direct_use_pool() is not possible. With the above, when calling dma_free_coherent(), vunmap() would be called from softirq context and thus leading to a BUG(). To fix it, use a dma pool that is allocated in .device_alloc_chan_resources() and allocate blocks from it. The key point is that now dma_pool_free() is used in axi_dmac_free_desc() to free the blocks and that just frees the blocks from the pool in the sense they can be used again. In other words, no actual call to dma_free_coherent() happens. That only happens when destroying the pool in axi_dmac_free_chan_resources() which does not happen in any interrupt context.
