Jul 16, 2026h2o is an HTTP server with support for HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3.CVE-2026-44453 · Other software · h2o · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
h2o is an HTTP server with support for HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3. Prior to commit 6b5370d, h2o is vulnerable to a Denial of Service attack when calling alloca under certain conditions. When serving static files, h2o builds the file path on stack, by calling alloca. The maximum size of the memory allocated using alloca can be as huge as ~600KB, which exceeds the default pthread stack size used by musl libc (128KB). If the amount of memory allocated by alloca exceeds the stack size, the h2o server crashes with a segmentation fault, while it tries to touch the guard page. This issue has been fixed by commit 6b5370d.

Jul 16, 2026h2o is an HTTP server with support for HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3.CVE-2026-44452 · Other software · h2o · reported by GitHubMedium 5.9
h2o is an HTTP server with support for HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3. Prior to commit 8dc37cb, when h2o receives a ClientHello message over TLS or QUIC and it contains a zero-length SNI extension, the h2o server runs over the zero-length hostname while trying to copy the hostname, assuming that it is NULL-terminated. This is a potential denial-of-service attack vector in sense that it might trigger segmentation violation. This issue has been fixed by commit 8dc37cb.

Jul 15, 2026When an HTTP/2 profile is configured on a virtual server, undisclosed requests can cause an increase in memory resource utilization.CVE-2026-59762 · Network & remote access · F5 · reported by f5sirt@f5.comHigh 8.7
When an HTTP/2 profile is configured on a virtual server, undisclosed requests can cause an increase in memory resource utilization. Impact: System performance can degrade until the TMM process is either forced to restart or is manually restarted. This vulnerability allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to cause a degradation of service that can lead to a denial-of-service (DoS) on the BIG-IP system. There is no control plane exposure; this is a data plane issue only. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated.

Jul 14, 2026A vulnerability was found in libsoup's HTTP/2 protocol implementation.CVE-2026-15713 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.9
A vulnerability was found in libsoup's HTTP/2 protocol implementation. The library fails to correctly release memory context blocks under specific stream termination conditions, such as when an HTTP/2 connection encounters window exhaustion or explicit stream resets. A remote, unauthenticated attacker acting as a malicious network peer can trick the connection engine into allocating stream states that are subsequently leaked during cleanup. Over a sustained period, this flaw allows the remote attacker to consume the system's heap allocations incrementally, triggering a denial of service (DoS) through an ultimate Out-of-Memory (OOM) application crash.

Jul 14, 2026A heap buffer over-read vulnerability was discovered in libsoup's (versions: libsoup 3.0 to 3.7.0) HTTP/2 connection tracking framework.CVE-2026-15712 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5.9
A heap buffer over-read vulnerability was discovered in libsoup's (versions: libsoup 3.0 to 3.7.0) HTTP/2 connection tracking framework. When the library processes an HTTP/2 GOAWAY frame, it improperly handles the "Additional Debug Data" payload by assuming the data stream is a safely NUL-terminated C-string. Because the parser lacks strict length-boundary verification before reading this data, a remote, unauthenticated attacker can intentionally send a malformed GOAWAY frame missing the appropriate null delimiter. This causes the library to read past the end of the allocated buffer, triggering an application crash that results in a denial of service (DoS), or potentially exposing fragments of memory contents.

Jul 14, 2026In Eclipse Jetty, for HTTP/1, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 requests, there is no strict check that the request authority (host and port) matches what provided in the Host CVE-2026-6790 · Other software · Eclipse Foundation · reported by emo@eclipse.orgMedium 5.3
In Eclipse Jetty, for HTTP/1, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 requests, there is no strict check that the request authority (host and port) matches what provided in the Host header (if present). This was not enforced in earlier HTTP RFC (for example, in RFC 2616), but it is in the latest RFC (9110 and 9112). This mismatch can cause a number of problems that may be classified as vulnerabilities such as: * URI constructions (for example, for redirects -- this is typical for login pages) * Virtual host selection * Reverse proxying * Misleading logs * Etc. Given that the latest RFCs require that request authority and Host header must match, Jetty should enforce this invariant.

Jul 14, 2026Allocation of resources without limits vulnerability in elixir-mint mint allows a remote HTTP/2 server to exhaust memory on the client host and cause a denial oCVE-2026-59246 · Other software · elixir-mint · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbMedium 6.3
Allocation of resources without limits vulnerability in elixir-mint mint allows a remote HTTP/2 server to exhaust memory on the client host and cause a denial of service. The Mint.HTTP2.handle_continuation/3 function in lib/mint/http2.ex accumulates the header-block fragment carried by each HTTP/2 CONTINUATION frame into a growing conn.headers_being_processed nesting, one level deeper per frame, and only releases it when a frame with the END_HEADERS flag arrives. The only guard on this accumulator is Mint.HTTP2.assert_header_block_within_max_size/2, which sums the byte size of the fragments received so far. Because a CONTINUATION frame is permitted by the protocol to carry a zero-length payload, an unbounded chain of zero-length CONTINUATION frames adds no bytes to the running total, never trips the size cap, and never emits END_HEADERS, yet each frame still nests the accumulator one level deeper. A malicious HTTP/2 server (reachable directly, via an attacker-controlled redirect, via SSRF, or via a man-in-the-middle) can open a stream by sending a HEADERS frame without END_HEADERS and then stream zero-length CONTINUATION frames indefinitely. Client memory grows one cons cell per

h2o is an HTTP server with support for HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3. Prior to commit edd7a120bfc4af11ac0cbebce2a43cc1f93f9af1, when h2o processes a QPACK instruction sent from the peer over HTTP/3, lib/http3/qpack.c might allocate an on-stack buffer as large as approximately 800 KB by calling alloca, which exceeds the default pthread stack size used by musl libc and causes the h2o server to crash with a segmentation fault while touching the guard page. Jun 8, 2026Origin Validation Error vulnerability in ninenines gun (gun_http2 module) allows cross-origin cookie injection via unvalidated HTTP/2 PUSH_PROMISE authority.CVE-2026-43972 · Other software · ninenines · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbMedium 6.3
Origin Validation Error vulnerability in ninenines gun (gun_http2 module) allows cross-origin cookie injection via unvalidated HTTP/2 PUSH_PROMISE authority. In gun_http2:push_promise_frame/7, the :authority pseudo-header from an incoming PUSH_PROMISE frame is stored verbatim into the promised stream record without checking that it matches the connection's origin. When gun_http2:headers_frame/9 later processes the response headers for the promised stream, it calls gun_cookies:set_cookie_header/7 with the unvalidated server-supplied authority before any status branching and before user code can act. This violates RFC 7540 §10.6 / RFC 9113 §8.4, which require receivers to treat as a protocol error any push for a resource the server is not authoritative for. A malicious or compromised HTTP/2 server can plant cookies scoped to arbitrary third-party domains into the client's shared cookie store. This enables session fixation attacks against those domains and, if the planted cookie overrides a legitimate session token, may result in account takeover. No user interaction beyond making a normal HTTP/2 request to the attacker-controlled server is required. This issue affects gun: from 2.

Protocol::HTTP2 versions before 1.13 for Perl is vulnerable to a HTTP/2 Bomb. Protocol::HTTP2's inbound HPACK path has no header-list size limit, so a small HTTP/2 request can expand into large server memory (the "HTTP/2 bomb"). The headers_decode method materialises a full key+value copy per indexed reference with no running size check, and the stream_header_block_add method appends (since version 1.12) every CONTINUATION frame to the per-stream buffer unbounded. MAX_HEADER_LIST_SIZE (default 65536) is advertised in SETTINGS but never consulted on decode. It is absent from the decoder and from the :limits export tag.

Jun 2, 2026Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in elixir-mint Mint allows attacker-controlled HTTP/2 servers to exhaust memory in a Mint cliCVE-2026-49754 · Other software · elixir-mint · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 8.2
Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in elixir-mint Mint allows attacker-controlled HTTP/2 servers to exhaust memory in a Mint client (HTTP/2 CONTINUATION flood). When Mint's HTTP/2 receive path observes a HEADERS frame without the END_HEADERS flag, the unparsed header-block fragment is parked in conn.headers_being_processed, and every subsequent CONTINUATION frame on that stream is appended to the accumulator. Nothing in the receive path caps the accumulator: there is no per-stream size limit, no CONTINUATION frame-count limit, and max_header_list_size is only enforced on outgoing requests, never on inbound header blocks (its default is :infinity). A malicious or compromised HTTP/2 server can stream an endless sequence of CONTINUATION frames (each up to the peer-advertised SETTINGS_MAX_FRAME_SIZE) and drive the client's iolist to arbitrary size, causing memory exhaustion and BEAM process death. A single connection to an attacker-controlled HTTP/2 endpoint is sufficient. This issue affects mint: from 0.1.0 before 1.9.0.

Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in elixir-mint Mint allows attacker-controlled HTTP/2 servers to exhaust memory in a Mint client via PUSH_PROMISE flooding. In lib/mint/http2.ex, Mint.HTTP2.decode_push_promise_headers_and_add_response/5 inserts a :reserved_remote entry into conn.streams for every promised stream ID. The neighbouring Mint.HTTP2.assert_valid_promised_stream_id/2 only verifies that the promised ID is even and not already present; client_settings.max_concurrent_streams is not consulted at promise time. The concurrency cap is only checked when the response HEADERS for the promised stream arrive, so a server that emits PUSH_PROMISE frames and withholds the matching HEADERS never trips that check. HTTP/2 server push is accepted by default (client_settings.enable_push defaults to true). A single long-lived HTTP/2 connection to a hostile server lets that server pin one conn.streams entry per PUSH_PROMISE frame it sends, with no upper bound, until the client process runs out of memory. This issue affects mint: from 0.2.0 before 1.9.0.

May 1, 2026Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in mtrudel bandit allows unauthenticated memory exhaustion via oversized HTTP/2 frames.CVE-2026-42788 · Other software · mtrudel · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbMedium 6.9
Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling vulnerability in mtrudel bandit allows unauthenticated memory exhaustion via oversized HTTP/2 frames. 'Elixir.Bandit.HTTP2.Frame':deserialize/2 in lib/bandit/http2/frame.ex checks the SETTINGS_MAX_FRAME_SIZE limit only after pattern-matching payload::binary-size(length), which requires the entire frame body to be present in memory before either the accept or reject clause can fire. A peer that announces a frame length up to the 24-bit maximum (~16 MiB) causes the server to buffer that entire body before the size guard is evaluated, regardless of the max_frame_size negotiated during the HTTP/2 handshake (default 16 KiB per RFC 9113). An unauthenticated attacker holding many concurrent connections can force the server to buffer far more memory than the negotiated frame size limit should permit, leading to memory pressure and potential denial of service. This issue affects bandit: from 0.3.6 before 1.11.0.

Jan 20, 2026A malformed `HTTP/2 HEADERS` frame with oversized, invalid `HPACK` data can cause Node.js to crash by triggering an unhandled `TLSSocket` error `ECONNRESET`.CVE-2025-59465 · Other software · nodejs · reported by support@hackerone.comHigh 7.5
A malformed `HTTP/2 HEADERS` frame with oversized, invalid `HPACK` data can cause Node.js to crash by triggering an unhandled `TLSSocket` error `ECONNRESET`. Instead of safely closing the connection, the process crashes, enabling a remote denial of service. This primarily affects applications that do not attach explicit error handlers to secure sockets, for example: ``` server.on('secureConnection', socket => { socket.on('error', err => { console.log(err) }) }) ```

Oct 23, 2025A flaw was found in the asynchronous message queue handling of the libsoup library, widely used by GNOME and WebKit-based applications to manage HTTP/2 communicCVE-2025-12105 · Other software · GNOME · reported by Red HatHigh 7.5
A flaw was found in the asynchronous message queue handling of the libsoup library, widely used by GNOME and WebKit-based applications to manage HTTP/2 communications. When network operations are aborted at specific timing intervals, an internal message queue item may be freed twice due to missing state synchronization. This leads to a use-after-free memory access, potentially crashing the affected application. Attackers could exploit this behavior remotely by triggering specific HTTP/2 read and cancel sequences, resulting in a denial-of-service condition.

Aug 25, 2025h2 is a pure-Python implementation of a HTTP/2 protocol stack.CVE-2025-57804 · Other software · python-hyper · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9
h2 is a pure-Python implementation of a HTTP/2 protocol stack. Prior to version 4.3.0, an HTTP/2 request splitting vulnerability allows attackers to perform request smuggling attacks by injecting CRLF characters into headers. This occurs when servers downgrade HTTP/2 requests to HTTP/1.1 without properly validating header names/values, enabling attackers to manipulate request boundaries and bypass security controls. This issue has been patched in version 4.3.0.

In Eclipse Jetty, versions <=9.4.57, <=10.0.25, <=11.0.25, <=12.0.21, <=12.1.0.alpha2, an HTTP/2 client may trigger the server to send RST_STREAM frames, for example by sending frames that are malformed or that should not be sent in a particular stream state, therefore forcing the server to consume resources such as CPU and memory. For example, a client can open a stream and then send WINDOW_UPDATE frames with window size increment of 0, which is illegal. Per specification https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc9113.html#name-window_update , the server should send a RST_STREAM frame. The client can now open another stream and send another bad WINDOW_UPDATE, therefore causing the server to consume more resources than necessary, as this case does not exceed the max number of concurrent streams, yet the client is able to create an enormous amount of streams in a short period of time. The attack can be performed with other conditions (for example, a DATA frame for a closed stream) that cause the server to send a RST_STREAM frame. Aug 13, 2025A mismatch caused by client-triggered server-sent stream resets between HTTP/2 specifications and the internal architectures of some HTTP/2 implementations may CVE-2025-8671 · Other software · SUSE Linux · reported by cret@cert.orgHigh 7.5
A mismatch caused by client-triggered server-sent stream resets between HTTP/2 specifications and the internal architectures of some HTTP/2 implementations may result in excessive server resource consumption leading to denial-of-service (DoS). By opening streams and then rapidly triggering the server to reset them—using malformed frames or flow control errors—an attacker can exploit incorrect stream accounting. Streams reset by the server are considered closed at the protocol level, even though backend processing continues. This allows a client to cause the server to handle an unbounded number of concurrent streams on a single connection. This CVE will be updated as affected product details are released.

Oct 11, 2024h2o is an HTTP server with support for HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3.CVE-2024-45403 · Other software · h2o · reported by GitHubLow 3.7
h2o is an HTTP server with support for HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3. When h2o is configured as a reverse proxy and HTTP/3 requests are cancelled by the client, h2o might crash due to an assertion failure. The crash can be exploited by an attacker to mount a Denial-of-Service attack. By default, the h2o standalone server automatically restarts, minimizing the impact. However, HTTP requests that were served concurrently will still be disrupted. The vulnerability has been addressed in commit 1ed32b2. Users may disable the use of HTTP/3 to mitigate the issue.

Oct 11, 2024h2o is an HTTP server with support for HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3.CVE-2024-45397 · Other software · h2o · reported by GitHubMedium 5.9
h2o is an HTTP server with support for HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3. When an HTTP request using TLS/1.3 early data on top of TCP Fast Open or QUIC 0-RTT packets is received and the IP-address-based access control is used, the access control does not detect and prohibit HTTP requests conveyed by packets with a spoofed source address. This behavior allows attackers on the network to execute HTTP requests from addresses that are otherwise rejected by the address-based access control. The vulnerability has been addressed in commit 15ed15a. Users may disable the use of TCP FastOpen and QUIC to mitigate the issue.

Oct 11, 2024h2o is an HTTP server with support for HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3.CVE-2024-25622 · Other software · h2o · reported by GitHubLow 3.1
h2o is an HTTP server with support for HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3. The configuration directives provided by the headers handler allows users to modify the response headers being sent by h2o. The configuration file of h2o has scopes, and the inner scopes (e.g., path level) are expected to inherit the configuration defined in outer scopes (e.g., global level). However, if a header directive is used in the inner scope, all the definition in outer scopes are ignored. This can lead to headers not being modified as expected. Depending on the headers being added or removed unexpectedly, this behavior could lead to unexpected client behavior. This vulnerability is fixed in commit 123f5e2b65dcdba8f7ef659a00d24bd1249141be.
