In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix listener task lifetime on netdev events The listener thread exits when its listening socket is shutdown. The netdevice notifier shuts down the socket before calling kthread_stop(), so the task_struct can be freed before kthread_stop() gets its reference. Create the listener in a stopped state and hold an extra task_struct reference until kthread_stop_put() completes. Also stop and release listeners before freeing their interface records during TCP teardown.

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing/probes: Fix use-after-free on field name/type of events with multiple probes The fCVE-2026-98076 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing/probes: Fix use-after-free on field name/type of events with multiple probes The fields of a probe-based dynamic event (kprobe, uprobe, eprobe and fprobe events) are created in traceprobe_define_arg_fields() by handing the probe_arg name/type strings to trace_define_field(), which only stores the pointers without copying. Those strings are owned by the trace_probe and are freed when that probe is removed. An event can have several probes attached. The field list is defined only once, by the first probe that registers the event, but it is kept alive by any surviving sibling probe. Deleting just that first probe by symbol - # primary A: fields are defined from A's args echo 'p:kprobes/ev vfs_read a1=$arg1' > kprobe_events # append B: shares A's event call echo 'p:kprobes/ev vfs_write a1=$arg1' >> kprobe_events # delete only A (matched by symbol), B survives echo '-:kprobes/ev vfs_read' >> kprobe_events frees A's args (trace_probe_cleanup() -> traceprobe_free_probe_arg()), but trace_probe_unlink() keeps the trace_probe_event because the probe list is not empty. The event call stays

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/x86/intel: Prevent drain_pebs() reentry The PEBS buffer is shared by all events on a CVE-2026-97960 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/x86/intel: Prevent drain_pebs() reentry The PEBS buffer is shared by all events on a CPU, so drain_pebs() must not be reentered. If so, one instance may observe stale buffer state and potentially access out-of-bound memory. Most invocations happen in NMI context, which naturally prevents reentry. However, drain_pebs() is also reachable from process context via intel_pmu_drain_pebs_buffer(). In those paths, the PMU is often already disabled, but not guaranteed. For example, __intel_pmu_pebs_disable() only disables the target counter, so other active counters can still raise a PMI and interrupt an in-flight drain_pebs(). Here is an example, __perf_addr_filters_adjust() perf_event_stop() __perf_event_stop() x86_pmu_stop() (event->pmu->stop) intel_pmu_disable_event() intel_pmu_pebs_disable() __intel_pmu_pebs_disable() intel_pmu_drain_large_pebs() intel_pmu_drain_pebs_buffer() Introduce __intel_pmu_quiesce() and __intel_pmu_resume() helpers and use them in intel_pmu_drain_large_pebs() to disable the full PMU around the intel_pmu_drain_peb

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tick/broadcast: Plug clockevents replacement race 朱恺乾 reported and decoded the following rCVE-2026-97925 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tick/broadcast: Plug clockevents replacement race 朱恺乾 reported and decoded the following race condition when a broadcast device is replaced: CPUA CPUB __tick_broadcast_oneshot_control() bc = tick_broadcast_device.evtdev; tick_install_broadcast_device(dev) clockevents_exchange_device(cur, dev) shutdown(cur); detach(cur); cur->handler = noop; tick_broadcast_device.evtdev = dev; tick_broadcast_set_event(bc, next_event); <- FAIL: arms a detached device. If the original broadcast device has a restricted interrupt affinity mask and the last CPU in that mask goes offline then the BUG() in tick_cleanup_dead_cpu() triggers because the clockevent device is not in detached state. The reason for this is that tick_install_broadcast_device() is not serialized vs. tick broadcast operations. The obvious cure is to serialize tick_install_broadcast_device() with tick_broadcast_lock against a concurrent tick broadcast operation. That requires to split clockevents_exchange_device() into two parts, one which does the exchange, shutdown and detach operation and the other

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing/user_events: Don't destroy fields when event removal fails destroy_user_event() deCVE-2026-97924 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing/user_events: Don't destroy fields when event removal fails destroy_user_event() destroys the event's fields before attempting to remove the trace event call. If user_event_set_call_visible() fails, e.g. because the event is still enabled and trace_remove_event_call() returns -EBUSY, the event is left registered with an irreversibly destroyed field list. Any subsequent interaction with the event then operates on an empty field list while it is still fully visible in tracefs. Move the field destruction after the call removal, and splice the field list back onto the event when the removal fails so the event remains in a consistent state.

  • Sep 23, 2026JobJobEventsChildrenSummary view has no model/parent_model.CVE-2026-71459 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatMedium 5

JobJobEventsChildrenSummary view has no model/parent_model. ModelAccessPermission.check_get_permissions() falls through (returns True) for any authenticated user. The view uses raw get_object_or_404(Job, pk) without DRF object-level permission check. Zero-privilege user reads event tree structure, event_processing_finished status, and enumerates Job IDs platform-wide via 200/404 oracle. Sibling endpoint /jobs/{id}/job_events/ correctly returns 403.

  • Sep 22, 2026In MISP, the queryEnrichment method in EventsController.php accepted a module name parameter and iterated over the list of enabled modules to find a match.CVE-2026-95674 · Other software · MISP · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8Medium 5.3

In MISP, the queryEnrichment method in EventsController.php accepted a module name parameter and iterated over the list of enabled modules to find a match. If the specified module was not present in the enabled modules list, the code silently continued processing using default parameters (format set to 'simplified' and no module-specific configuration applied) rather than rejecting the request. This allowed an authenticated user to trigger enrichment or analysis processing through a module that was not explicitly enabled or available on the instance, bypassing the intended module availability controls. The lack of validation meant that module names outside the enabled set were not rejected, potentially exposing functionality or data processing paths that the administrator had not authorized for use.

Apache Airflow's `/assets/events` API returned asset events for every Dag in the deployment, with no filter restricting them to the Dags the caller is authorized to read. Any authenticated user holding asset-read access could therefore enumerate asset events — including the source Dag ID, task ID, run ID and event timestamps — for Dags they have no permission to see. Because the filter was also absent from the count query, `total_entries` and pagination disclosed the existence of hidden Dags even without inspecting individual rows. Apache Airflow's asset queued-events DELETE endpoints checked the caller's Dag-axis permission with `READ` instead of `EDIT`. Any authenticated user who could read a Dag could therefore delete that Dag's queued asset events, silently suppressing asset-triggered scheduling for it — a state-changing action gated on a read-only permission. • Sep 12, 2026The Events Calendar: Remote Code ExecutionCVE-2026-78159 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceCritical 9.8

The The Events Calendar plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Remote Code Execution in all versions up to, and including, 6.17.3 via the parse_array function. This is due to insufficient validation of the widget 'classes' map, allowing a plain-array payload to bypass the is_safe_widget_instance() object check and reach the callable-invocation sink in Element_Classes::parse_array(). This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to execute code on the server. Exploitation requires that the targeted site has comments enabled on tribe_events posts and that at least one comment containing a crafted wp:legacy-widget block has been submitted, as the attack chain is triggered when do_blocks() processes the single-event HTML including the comment area.

  • Sep 12, 2026The Events Calendar: Remote Code ExecutionCVE-2026-78006 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceCritical 9.8

The The Events Calendar plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Remote Code Execution in all versions up to, and including, 6.17.4 via the is_safe_widget_instance function. This is due to insufficient protection in is_safe_widget_instance, which can be bypassed because PHP fires magic methods during its pre-parse, combined with enable_rendering_widget_copied() forging a valid wp_hash integrity attribute before unserialize() is reached. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to execute code on the server. This is exploitable without authentication or approval because the plugin's V2 single-event template runs do_blocks() over buffered comment HTML, and WordPress returns a moderation-hash URL that allows an unauthenticated commenter to immediately view their own pending comment, delivering the injected block markup to the vulnerable code path before any moderation occurs. This does require comments to be enabled and visible on events.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing/user_events: Clear copied tracing state before fork duplication dup_task_struct() copies user_event_mm from the parent into the child, without grabbing a reference to it. user_event_mm_dup() should replace it, but it leaves that copied pointer unmodified if user_event_mm_alloc() fails. MISP's UiBeta theme collection view (app/View/Themed/UiBeta/Collections/view.ctp) performed a secondary query of member events by UUID without applying the caller's access control list (ACL). The CollectionsController::view() action correctly resolved collection element UUIDs through Event::fetchSimpleEvents($user, ...), which enforces per-user event ACL. However, the view template independently re-queried the same UUIDs using only an Event.uuid IN (...) condition, omitting the createEventConditions() authorization filter. Because collection element UUIDs are stored without server-side authorization against the referenced event (CollectionElementsController::add() accepts whatever UUID the collection owner posts), an authenticated user with view access to a collection could retrieve full details of events they are not permitted to read. The exposed data included event identifiers, info, dates, timestamps, creator organization, all event tags, and galaxy clusters (the latter attached via a cluster-scoped rather than event-scoped ACL check). This constitutes an authorization bypass at the presentation layer, allowing horizontal privilege escalation across event boundaries within the

The Events Manager - Calendar, Bookings, Tickets, and more! plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via event attribute values in all versions up to, and including, 7.3.3. This is due to insufficient input sanitization when storing attribute values (using only `wp_unslash()` without sanitization) and lack of output escaping when rendering the '#_ATT{key}' placeholder. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Author-level access and above, or unauthenticated attackers when anonymous event submissions are enabled, to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when any user views the affected event page.

  • Sep 4, 2026An incorrect authorization vulnerability in MISP allowed authenticated users to delete attributes from events despite lacking the required perm_modify or perm_mCVE-2026-85538 · Other software · misp · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8High 8.3

An incorrect authorization vulnerability in MISP allowed authenticated users to delete attributes from events despite lacking the required perm_modify or perm_modify_org permissions. The affected attribute deletion paths relied on organization membership checks performed by MispAttribute::deleteAttribute() but did not consistently enforce MISP's event modification authorization rules. Consequently, a user belonging to the organization associated with an event could potentially delete individual attributes or perform bulk attribute deletion even when their assigned role was not authorized to modify the event. This created an inconsistency between attribute editing and deletion: editing an attribute correctly used MISP's ACL::canModifyEvent() authorization logic, whereas the affected deletion operations could bypass these permission checks. An authenticated attacker with access to an affected MISP instance and membership in the organization owning an event could exploit this flaw to remove attributes from that event, potentially causing unauthorized modification or loss of threat intelligence data. The patch introduces a common authorization check for all affected deletion paths.

  • Sep 3, 2026A cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability existed in the cullEmptyEvents action of MISP.CVE-2026-85236 · Other software · misp · reported by 5a6e4751-2f3f-4070-9419-94fb35b644e8High 8.8

A cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability existed in the cullEmptyEvents action of MISP. The endpoint performed a state-changing and irreversible operation while accepting HTTP GET requests. Because bodyless GET requests are not subject to CakePHP's CSRF validation, an attacker could cause an authenticated MISP user with sufficient privileges to invoke the endpoint simply by causing their browser to load a crafted URL, for example through an embedded image or other automatically requested resource. Successful exploitation triggers the deletion of published empty events. The deletion is particularly significant because the operation uses skipBlocklist, meaning the removed events do not leave blocklist entries that could prevent or track their subsequent synchronization. This can result in unintended and potentially irreversible deletion of MISP event records without explicit user interaction. The vulnerability was addressed by restricting cullEmptyEvents to HTTP POST requests, ensuring that CakePHP's normal CSRF protections are applied to the operation.

  • Sep 2, 2026Nuclio is a "Serverless" framework for Real-Time Events and Data Processing.CVE-2026-79756 · Other software · nuclio · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7

Nuclio is a "Serverless" framework for Real-Time Events and Data Processing. Prior to version 1.17.4, the fix for unauthenticated OS command injection in the nuclio dashboard on the local/Docker platform is incomplete. The fix added validateFunctionName for function names and common.Quote() for the named-resource shell command path, but the list-all resource path (triggered when no specific resource name is provided) still interpolates the resourceNamespace parameter unquoted into a /bin/sh -c command string. An unauthenticated attacker can inject shell metacharacters via the X-Nuclio-Function-Namespace, X-Nuclio-Project-Namespace, or X-Nuclio-Function-Event-Namespace HTTP headers to achieve arbitrary command execution inside the dashboard container. This issue has been patched in version 1.17.4.
