With `[migrations] ALLOWED_DOMAINS` set to a matching entry such as `*` or a hostname wildcard, Gitea's migration URL validation could permit reserved and link-local addresses, such as `169.254.169.254`, even when `ALLOW_LOCALNETWORKS = false`. The local-network block list did not cover these ranges, and a hostname matching the allow list was accepted regardless of its resolved address. A user who can start migrations on such an instance could reach these addresses from the Gitea server; the default empty `ALLOWED_DOMAINS` configuration is not affected.

  • Oct 6, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: selinux: preserve user SID across nested backing files SELinux saves the user file SID in CVE-2026-98215 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: selinux: preserve user SID across nested backing files SELinux saves the user file SID in a backing-file security blob so it remains available after mmap() replaces vma->vm_file with a backing file. For nested backing files (overlayfs over overlayfs, or FUSE passthrough backed by overlayfs), user_file may itself be a backing file. Its fsec->sid is the SID of the mounter that opened it, rather than the user that opened the top-level file. mprotect() then checks fd { use } against the mounter SID. This can incorrectly deny access without a domain transition, or check the wrong target SID after one. Copy the saved user SID when user_file is a backing file. Keep using the regular file SID for the first backing layer. With two nested overlayfs mounts and SELinux enforcing, mprotect(PROT_READ) returns EACCES with an fd { use } denial against the mounter SID. With this change, mprotect() succeeds. Tested on arm64 QEMU with a small BusyBox initramfs and a purpose-built SELinux policy. The original test was also repeated with Fedora Cloud Base 44 userspace and gave the same result.

  • Sep 28, 2026Payy is an Ethereum L2 zk-rollup for privacy preserving and regulatory compliant transactions.CVE-2026-48100 · Other software · polybase · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7

Payy is an Ethereum L2 zk-rollup for privacy preserving and regulatory compliant transactions. Prior to version 1.3.0, agg_agg forwards the compacted message stream from its inner proofs into a public messages: [Field; 1000] array, but it never checks that the unused tail of the outer array is zero. A registered prover can build a valid agg_final proof for an approved rollup block while inserting an extra burn message after the real messages. RollupV1.verifyRollup() then parses that public input as a normal burn and transfers USDC from the rollup contract to the attacker. This is a severe circuit soundness failure: the proof system accepts a public statement whose messages array is not fully derived from the verified inner proofs. On the current deployment, verifyRollup() is restricted to the existing allowlisted prover, so a fresh public caller cannot submit the invalid proof directly. That gate limits who can reach L1 today; it does not make the circuit statement sound. The issue becomes permissionless under the prover model described in the Payy whitepaper. Section 3.3.2 states: "To join as a prover, the prover is required to submit a small stake", and Section 3.3.1 states that

  • Sep 28, 2026Apache Karaf's instance-management service (InstanceServiceImpl) builds the command line used to launch a child Karaf JVM by string concatenation, then executesCVE-2026-91006 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 8.8

Apache Karaf's instance-management service (InstanceServiceImpl) builds the command line used to launch a child Karaf JVM by string concatenation, then executes it through /bin/sh (Unix) or cscript (Windows). The caller-supplied javaOpts value is spliced into that string unquoted. A javaOpts value containing shell metacharacters (;, |, `, $(...)) is interpreted by the shell instead of being passed to the JVM as an option, giving arbitrary OS command execution as the Karaf process user. Reachable via the shell commands instance:create, instance:start, instance:restart, instance:change-opts, and the equivalent InstanceMBean JMX operations (createInstance, startInstance, changeJavaOpts, cloneInstance). Mitigation  * Set karaf.secured.command.compulsory.roles=admin in etc/system.properties to close the fail-open gap for all unconfigured command scopes. * Restrict which principals can reach instance:* commands and InstancesMBean via etc/users.properties role assignments. * Treat javaOpts passed to instance:create/instance:start/instance:change-opts/InstancesMBean as untrusted input only from fully-trusted operators.

  • Sep 25, 2026@openclaw/whatsapp (npm) before 2026.8.1 exposes the WhatsApp login tool through the generic channel-tool path without preserving the originating sender's ownerCVE-2026-100532 · Other software · openclaw · reported by VulnCheckHigh 7.2

@openclaw/whatsapp (npm) before 2026.8.1 exposes the WhatsApp login tool through the generic channel-tool path without preserving the originating sender's owner status, so the owner-only tool boundary is not enforced. An admitted non-owner sender able to steer the tool can request a forced login and receive a new QR code for a configured account, disconnecting the Gateway's WhatsApp account and causing loss of availability; full account relinking additionally requires the attacker to scan the returned QR code with another phone. The issue affects the owner-only tool boundary rather than WhatsApp transport authentication. Fixed in 2026.8.1.

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Preserve special fields in recycled rhtab elements rhtab_map_update_elem() initializeCVE-2026-98036 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Preserve special fields in recycled rhtab elements rhtab_map_update_elem() initializes special fields after obtaining an element from bpf_mem_cache_alloc(). The allocator can return a fresh, zeroed unit, or recycle one from its RCU-pending lists before the registered destructor has run. A BPF program can retain a map-value pointer after deleting its element and initialize and arm a timer through that pointer. If the deleted unit is recycled, check_and_init_map_value() clears the only pointer to the timer. Neither a later deletion nor rhtab_mem_dtor() can then cancel it, and the callback can run with its key and value pointing into freed memory. Do not reinitialize special fields on insertion. Fresh allocator units are already zeroed. For recycled units, the special fields are ownership state that must remain visible to the eventual destructor. copy_map_value() already skips those fields, matching the non-preallocated hash-map path and the lifecycle established by commit 275c30bcee66 ("bpf: Don't reinit map value in prealloc_lru_pop"). • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Preserve inner map identity in callback frames Callback frame constructors initializeCVE-2026-98033 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Preserve inner map identity in callback frames Callback frame constructors initialize map-typed argument registers with __mark_reg_known_zero() and then restore map_ptr. This clears map_uid, which is the only field distinguishing inner maps that share an inner_map_meta template. When a timer callback invokes bpf_for_each_map_elem() on a second inner map, both the saved first map and the second map value can reach the nested callback as the same template with map_uid zero. bpf_timer_init() then accepts pairing the timer from the second map with the first map. The runtime records the first map in the timer without taking a reference. Freeing that map does not find the timer stored in the second map, so a later timer callback dereferences the freed map. Copy map_uid from the same caller register as map_ptr when constructing for-each, timer/workqueue, and task-work callback arguments. The existing identity check can then reject mismatched inner maps while allowing a callback value to be paired with its actual map.

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: mana: Reserve extra CQ slot for the fence completion CQE The RX completion queue is sCVE-2026-97613 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: mana: Reserve extra CQ slot for the fence completion CQE The RX completion queue is sized to hold exactly one CQE per posted RX WQE. MANA_FENCE_RQ makes hardware post an additional CQE_RX_OBJECT_FENCE after the packet CQEs. The current sizing reserves no extra slot for it and in rare cases, CQ has no guaranteed slot for the fence CQE when it is full of packet CQEs. This can lead to dropping the fence completion while the driver waits holding RTNL lock throughout the timeout duration. Reserve one extra CQE slot for CQE_RX_OBJECT_FENCE. mana_gd_alloc_memory() requires queue_size to be a power-of-two and at least MANA_PAGE_SIZE; the reservation pushes cq_size past a power-of-two, so round up the CQ size in mana_create_rxq().

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: preserve LZMA decoders on resize failure The pool-resize path frees each stream's oCVE-2026-97605 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: erofs: preserve LZMA decoders on resize failure The pool-resize path frees each stream's old decoder before allocating its replacement. If an allocation fails after some streams have already been replaced, the failed stream is put back on the list with state == NULL. z_erofs_lzma_max_dictsize is still advanced as if the whole pool had been resized. An existing LZMA mount can select the broken stream and pass NULL to xz_dec_microlzma_reset(). A retry at the same size also skip another resize attempt. Since the global maximum was advanced, thus, the invalid state is left unrepaired. Allocate each replacement before freeing the old decoder, temporarily retaining one old decoder during allocation. Stop at the first failure and advance z_erofs_lzma_max_dictsize only after all streams satisfy the request. Record each stream's dictionary capacity so retries can skip streams already enlarged before a partial failure.

  • Sep 25, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: afs: Clear stale peer app data after address list changes afs_fs_probe_fileserver() fetcheCVE-2026-97583 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: afs: Clear stale peer app data after address list changes afs_fs_probe_fileserver() fetches the current endpoint state under server->fs_lock, but leaves old_alist as NULL. Consequently, afs_set_peer_appdata() treats every address list replacement as initial setup and only binds the new peers; it never unbinds peers removed from the old list. An address refresh can therefore proceed as follows. CPU 0 replaces server S's list and drops Pold without clearing Pold->app_data. The server destroyer then clears only S's current peers and lets S reach its RCU callback. After the callback frees S, CPU 1 handles a callback through an RxRPC connection that still pins Pold, reads Pold->app_data, and calls afs_use_server() on the freed object. Because Node.js http.request and http.get expect connection failures to be delivered asynchronously, the throw bypassed req.on('error') and became an uncaught exception that could terminate the application process. Hostnames resolved through the asynchronous lookup path were not affected by this error-delivery asymmetry. This issue is fixed in version 3.2.1.

Metacat is data repository software that helps researchers preserve, share, and discover data. Prior to 3.4.2, MetacatSolrIndex.query forwards the client-controlled qt parameter through Apache SolrJ from search endpoints such as /d1/mn/v2/query/solr/ to its privileged Solr backend. An unauthenticated client can select the /admin/file handler, and SolrJ reformats the parameter into a request accepted even when handleSelect=false is configured on Solr 7.0 or later. When Solr returns the selected core configuration file, Metacat embeds the raw content in an XML processing error response, disclosing internal files such as solrconfig.xml and enabling infrastructure profiling. With CONFIG_DMA_DIRECT_REMAP, the atomic pool is backed by remapped virtual addresses, which are not the same as the direct-map addresses returned by phys_to_virt(). swiotlb_init_io_tlb_pool() currently reconstructs the pool virtual address from the physical start address. For atomic-pool backed allocations this stores the wrong address in pool->vaddr. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: lwt_bpf: Restore reserved headroom after xmit program ip_finish_output2() expands an skb to LL_RESERVED_SPACE(dev) before LWT xmit. An LWT_XMIT BPF program can then modify the skb head and still return BPF_OK, so bpf_xmit() rechecks the remaining headroom before the skb continues to neighbour output. That recheck uses dst->dev->hard_header_len. This is not enough for the neighbour cached-header path: neigh_hh_output() copies the cached hardware header using the aligned hh_cache size, HH_DATA_MOD for short headers or HH_DATA_ALIGN(hh_len) otherwise. On Ethernet, hard_header_len is 14 but the cached copy needs 16 bytes. If an LWT_XMIT BPF program calls bpf_skb_change_head(skb, 1, 0), the skb can still have 15 bytes of headroom after the program. The existing check accepts that, after which neigh_hh_output() hits its headroom warning and drops the skb. Use LL_RESERVED_SPACE(dst->dev) in the post-BPF headroom check to match the reservation made before LWT xmit.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: validate usa_ofs before preserving the update sequence number When ntfs_mft_record_alloc() reuses a free mft record it reads the old update sequence number straight from the on-disk record: usn = *(__le16 *)((u8 *)m + le16_to_cpu(m->usa_ofs)); Here m points into the raw $MFT page-cache folio, which still holds unvalidated, MST-protected bytes: the folio is read by a plain iomap_read_folio() and neither post_read_mst_fixup() nor ntfs_mft_record_check() has run on it (both work on private copies). m->usa_ofs is therefore an untrusted u16, and a corrupted record can put it past the end of the record so the two-byte read lands outside the folio. Improper preservation of permissions in the Avast sandbox minifilter driver (aswSnx.sys) on Windows allows a local, low-privileged attacker executing inside the sandbox to escape file isolation and escalate to SYSTEM. When the sandbox virtualizes a file it copies the original security descriptor, but the driver opened the virtualization target object with GENERIC_WRITE and FILE_WRITE_ATTRIBUTES only, omitting WRITE_DAC. Every attempt to apply the original DACL therefore failed, and the failure was discarded silently, leaving virtualized copies of sensitive files with permissive permissions. Because the IRP_MJ_CREATE callback additionally did not strip WRITE_DAC for sensitive directories, a sandboxed process could rewrite the security descriptor of a virtualized object, read the virtualized copy of the SAM database, extract local NTLM password hashes and execute code as SYSTEM. The absence of an IRP_MJ_SET_SECURITY callback in the driver's operation registration table is a related defense-in-depth gap, but it is not the control that prevents this attack.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: LoongArch: KVM: Preserve memslot arch flags on KVM_MR_FLAGS_ONLY kvm_arch_prepare_memory_region() computes new->arch.flags, i.e. whether a memslot is KVM_MEM_HUGEPAGE_CAPABLE or KVM_MEM_HUGEPAGE_INCAPABLE, only for KVM_MR_CREATE and KVM_MR_MOVE, and returns early for every other change. But the generic code allocates a zeroed memslot for every change and never copies old->arch, so after a KVM_MR_FLAGS_ONLY update, e.g. toggling KVM_MEM_LOG_DIRTY_PAGES for live migration, the active memslot has arch.flags == 0. With both flags clear, fault_supports_huge_mapping() falls through to the alignment check on the HVA range alone, which no longer verifies that the GPA and HVA have the same offset within a PMD. A memslot that was marked KVM_MEM_HUGEPAGE_INCAPABLE because of a GPA/HVA offset mismatch can then be mapped with PMD entries on read faults, and since kvm_map_page() aligns the gfn and the pfn independently, the guest ends up accessing the wrong host pages, exactly the "d -> f, e -> g" case described in the comment above the check. resdata is software for reading and writing result files from the Eclipse reservoir simulator. Prior to 6.2.9, resdata insufficiently validates numeric fields, grid dimensions, keyword sizes, and array indexes while parsing untrusted GRDECL files in lib/resdata/rd_kw_grdecl.cpp and lib/resdata/rd_grid.cpp. Malformed COORD, ZCORN, CORSNUM, ACTNUM, or MAPAXES data can reach rd_grid_alloc_GRDECL_kw__ with inconsistent lengths, while unbounded floating-point conversion can exceed the intended parser buffer. In a network service that accepts untrusted GRDECL files, these conditions can cause a classic buffer overflow, out-of-bounds reads, invalid array access, NULL pointer dereference, memory corruption, or service termination. Affected versions of MISP’s interactive CLI shell do not reliably preserve the identity of the impersonated MISP user across audit logging. The shell is designed to run actions as a supplied MISP user ID. However, the legacy SysLogLogable behavior stored that identity in behavior-instance state that could be overwritten when another model lazily attached the shared behavior. Consequently, subsequent CLI writes could lose the intended user attribution and be logged incorrectly. The commit also notes that CLI-originated records lacked a CLI marker, making them appear similar to ordinary web actions by that user. Version affected: ≤2.5.45
