  • Oct 9, 2026By default, StaxUtils placed no limit on the total number of elements or the total number of characters in an XML document.CVE-2026-108039 · Websites & servers · Apache Software Foundation · reported by security@apache.orgHigh 7.5

By default, StaxUtils placed no limit on the total number of elements or the total number of characters in an XML document. A very large request could therefore use a lot of memory and CPU during parsing, especially where CXF builds a DOM from the input (for example SAAJ or WS-Security), and could cause a denial of service when no request size limit was configured. Both limits now have defaults: the maximum element count is 100 × maxChildElements (5,000,000 by default), and the maximum document size is 256M characters. Applications that process larger documents can raise the limits with the org.apache.cxf.stax.maxElementCount and org.apache.cxf.stax.maxXMLCharacters properties. Users are recommended to upgrade to versions 4.2.4 or 4.1.9 or 3.6.13, which fix this issue.

  • Oct 6, 2026WeasyPrint helps web developers to create PDF documents.CVE-2026-106443 · Other software · Kozea · reported by GitHubHigh 8.8

WeasyPrint helps web developers to create PDF documents. Prior to 70.0, the image-loading path in weasyprint/images.py passes fetched image bytes from HTML img URLs, CSS image values, SVG image references, and data URIs to Pillow's generic image dispatcher without excluding EPS or PostScript formats. On hosts with Ghostscript installed, Pillow EpsImagePlugin invokes the interpreter for attacker-controlled PostScript, which can produce interpreter-permitted effects and can lead to remote code execution when the installed Ghostscript version has a usable sandbox bypass. Hosts without Ghostscript do not reach this rasterization path. This issue is fixed in version 70.0.

  • Oct 6, 2026SimpleChat is a secure AI conversation application with personal and group workspaces for document-grounded interactions.CVE-2026-105798 · Computers, phones & browsers · microsoft · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7

SimpleChat is a secure AI conversation application with personal and group workspaces for document-grounded interactions. Prior to 0.261.029, POST /api/group_documents/upload stores an attacker-controlled group document filename that group_workspaces.html later interpolates into inline Share event handlers. The escapeGroupHtml function leaves apostrophes unchanged, while escapeHtml produces an HTML entity that the browser decodes before JavaScript evaluation, so either path permits the filename to terminate the handler string. An authenticated group Owner, Admin, or DocumentManager can persist script that executes in the SimpleChat origin when another group member clicks Share, allowing access to victim-visible data and actions with the victim session. This issue is fixed in version 0.261.029.

  • Oct 6, 2026SimpleChat is a secure AI conversation application with personal and group workspaces for document-grounded interactions.CVE-2026-105797 · Computers, phones & browsers · microsoft · reported by GitHubHigh 8.8

SimpleChat is a secure AI conversation application with personal and group workspaces for document-grounded interactions. In versions 0.261.003 and 0.261.027, an authorization ordering flaw in POST /api/user/plugins allows an authenticated low-privileged user to omit the top-level MCP type so that _reject_non_admin_mcp_stdio skips inspection before the type is restored from metadata. The stored personal action can then reach McpPluginFactory.create_connector, and MCPStdioPlugin.connect starts the attacker-selected operating-system process under the application service identity when the action tool is invoked. Exploitation requires personal plugins to be enabled and governance to permit MCP actions, and it can expose or modify secrets and data available to the service or disrupt the service. This issue is fixed in version 0.261.031.

  • Oct 5, 2026Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem.CVE-2026-105751 · Other software · docling-project · reported by GitHubMedium 6.9

Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem. From 2.107.0 until 2.120.3, docling/backend/opendocument_backend.py uses the xlink:href attribute value of a draw:image element as a filesystem path when the referenced part is not found in the document archive. The _image_ref_from_odf_image function reads that attacker-controlled path without a scheme check, extraction-directory confinement, or the enable_local_fetch setting used by other backends. Readable files that Pillow can decode as images are embedded in converted output, and other existing paths can be distinguished through the attempted read. This issue is fixed in 2.120.3.

  • Oct 5, 2026Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem.CVE-2026-105750 · Other software · docling-project · reported by GitHubMedium 5.9

Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem. From 2.82.0 until 2.118.1, HTMLBackendOptions(render_page=True) permits file URLs because HTMLDocumentBackend._get_browser_request_block_reason does not enforce the enable_local_fetch setting or confine local requests to the source document directory. Crafted path-backed HTML can embed a readable local text file in a browser-rendered page image when Playwright is installed. Only filesystem Path inputs are affected because stream inputs use an opaque origin, and the default configuration, command-line interface, docling-serve, and non-rendering backends are not affected. • Oct 5, 2026Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem.CVE-2026-105749 · Other software · docling-project · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5

Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem. From 2.0.0 until 2.131.0, the HTML, JATS, OpenDocument spreadsheet, and BoxNote backends, including docling/backend/html_backend.py, docling/backend/jats_backend.py, and docling/backend/boxnote_backend.py, accept the rowspan and colspan attribute values without an upper bound and execute loops or allocate a table grid proportional to the declared span. A very small document can therefore cause sustained CPU use or multi-gigabyte memory allocation, and the document_timeout setting does not interrupt the single backend conversion call. Export through the TableData.grid property can further materialize the oversized grid. This issue is fixed in 2.131.0.

  • Oct 5, 2026Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem.CVE-2026-105748 · Other software · docling-project · reported by GitHubMedium 4.3

Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem. From 2.16.0 until 2.131.0, the InputFormat.JSON_DOCLING backend in docling/backend/json/docling_json_backend.py validates serialized DoclingDocument input without rejecting picture image references that contain local paths or file URIs. When the document is enriched or exported with ImageRefMode.EMBEDDED, the DoclingDocument._with_embedded_pictures and ImageRef.pil_image methods can open those references and place readable image bytes in Markdown or HTML output. Disclosure is limited to files Pillow can decode as images, while differing decode behavior can also reveal whether a path exists. Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem. From 2.45.0 until 2.131.0, METS-GBS format detection in docling/datamodel/document.py and the backend in docling/backend/mets_gbs_backend.py call tarfile.TarFile.getmembers() before enforcing the max_member_count limit, causing the full archive member list to be allocated before the limit can stop processing. A small gzip-compressed tar archive with a very large number of empty members can therefore consume memory proportional to the declared member count, including during format detection before the allowed_formats restriction is applied. The StandardPdfPipeline._make_ocr_model method also fails to pass the flag into the OCR factory, allowing remote OCR processing in configurations that rely on remote services being disabled. From 2.94.0 until 2.132.0, callers that opt into LatexBackendOptions(tikz_engine="tectonic") invoke docling/backend/latex/engines/tectonic.py to compile an untrusted TikZ body and document preamble without restricting TeX file primitives including \openin and \openout. Crafted input can read files available to the converter and create or overwrite writable files, and enabling the tikz_engine_allow_shell_escape option additionally permits shell commands through TeX. The default configuration, which does not enable Tectonic rendering, is not affected. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.132.0.

  • Oct 5, 2026Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem.CVE-2026-105743 · Other software · docling-project · reported by GitHubMedium 4

Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem. From 2.91.0 until 2.132.0, validate_url_safety in docling/backend/utils/image_resource_loader.py validates a hostname with a single IPv4 lookup and then allows the HTTP client to resolve and parse the original URL again, permitting DNS rebinding, mixed public and internal address records, and backslash authority parser disagreement to reach internal services. HTMLBackendOptions(render_page=True) also allows HTTP and HTTPS browser requests without validating their resolved destination. Exploitation requires remote fetching to be enabled, and response content is exposed only when it is decoded as an image or passively rendered in a page screenshot. This issue is fixed in 2.132.0.

  • Oct 5, 2026Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem.CVE-2026-105742 · Other software · docling-project · reported by GitHubLow 3.7

Docling simplifies document processing by parsing diverse formats and providing integrations with the generative AI ecosystem. From 2.95.0 until 2.132.0, the HTML image resource loader in docling/backend/utils/image_resource_loader.py forwards headers configured through the HTMLBackendOptions.headers setting to every remote image URL named by an untrusted document when enable_remote_fetch=True and fetch_images=True. The loader does not restrict those credentials to the source document's origin, allowing requests that carry custom headers such as API keys and cookies to follow cross-origin redirects and expose the caller's configured credentials to a document author. The default configuration is not affected because remote fetching and configured headers are required. This issue is fixed in 2.132.0.

URLs could be constructed which expanded environment variable or INI file values, so potentially sensitive information could be exfiltrated to a remote server on opening a document containing such links. The check added for CVE-2024-12426 did not cover every place a document can supply a URL. XForms instance data and the Calc csv and sql data providers still reached the expansion. In fixed versions these places refuse URLs with internal schemes when the URL comes from the document.

LibreOffice can link to audio and video files from a document, and on Linux it plays them with GStreamer. A linked media file could be an HLS playlist that made GStreamer read the local files and remote URLs it listed while the document loaded, and their contents could end up in the document. In fixed versions LibreOffice does not follow playlists that name further resources, and linked media is under link update control.

  • Oct 5, 2026YAML versions before 1.27_001 for Perl allow a loaded perl/glob document to replace any package variable, which can lead to arbitrary code execution.CVE-2019-25777 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eHigh 7.3

YAML versions before 1.27_001 for Perl allow a loaded perl/glob document to replace any package variable, which can lead to arbitrary code execution. A perl/glob document names a package and a symbol, and supplies the value assigned to it. Nothing restricts the name, so the target can be @INC or YAML's own load options. A perl/glob document that sets $YAML::LoadCode or $YAML::UseCode turns on code loading, which is off by default, for every later Load() in the process. A perl/code document is then passed to a string eval, so an attacker who supplies two documents to separate Load() calls in one process can execute arbitrary Perl code.

YAML versions before 1.30 for Perl allow a loaded document to trigger the DESTROY method of arbitrary classes. A perl/hash:Class tag blesses a hash into the class it names. The document supplies the object's fields, and Perl calls DESTROY when it goes out of scope. What DESTROY does depends on the classes the process has loaded. With File::Temp::Dir from core Perl, it can delete a directory tree the document names.

The EmbedPress – PDF Embedder, 3D PDF FlipBook, Google Reviews, YouTube Videos, Upload & Embed PDF documents plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via 'slidesShow' Block Attribute in all versions up to, and including, 4.6.6 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The slidesShow block attribute is interpolated into an unquoted data-carousel-options HTML attribute, allowing a payload containing spaces to break out of the attribute and inject additional DOM attributes such as onfocus event handlers onto the wrapper element.

A code execution issue in the Java integration in Apache OpenOffice v4.1.16 and earlier allows a crafted untrusted document to trigger executing arbitrary (even remote) code when opened by the user. This issue is expected to be fixed in version 4.1.17, which is in the release candidate phase. Until then, users can mitigate this issue by disabling Java runtime integration in the Preferences dialog. This prevents the attack. If this is not possible, or as an extra precaution, you can avoid opening open untrusted files entirely. Once 4.1.17 is released, upgrade to that version to fix the issue.
