In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ata: pata_sl82c105: fix bridge revision use-after-free pci_get_slot() returns a referenced PCI device. Commit 44c10138fd4b ("PCI: Change all drivers to use pci_device->revision") replaced a configuration-space read with direct access to the cached revision field, but left that access after pci_dev_put(). The bridge may therefore be freed before its revision is read. Read the revision before dropping the reference.

When Ethernet bridging is enabled (CONFIG_NET_ETHERNET_BRIDGE), eth_bridge_input_process() in subsys/net/l2/ethernet/bridge/bridge_input.c decides how each frame received on a bridge member interface is handled. For frames that must also be delivered to the local stack, the code called eth_bridge_handle_locally() and returned NET_OK. That helper does not consume the packet — it only calls bridge_iface_recv() (via virtual_recv()), which returns NET_CONTINUE without taking ownership of pkt. The NET_OK verdict then propagates through ethernet_recv() up to processing_data() in subsys/net/ip/net_core.c, where NET_OK is interpreted as "the packet was consumed, do not free it." Because no consumer actually took ownership, the RX net_pkt is never returned to the pool and is leaked. The concretely reproducible leak occurs for frames whose EtherType has no registered L3 handler when CONFIG_NET_ETHERNET_FORWARD_UNRECOGNISED_ETHERTYPE is set (default y when CONFIG_NET_SOCKETS_PACKET is enabled): the fall-through L3 dispatch does not overwrite the NET_OK verdict, so ethernet_recv() returns NET_OK and the buffer is never released. Any device on a bridged L2 segment can emit broadcast/multicast

  • Aug 28, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: flowtable: avoid num_encaps underflow on bridge VLAN untag The DEV_PATH_BR_VLANCVE-2026-80634 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: flowtable: avoid num_encaps underflow on bridge VLAN untag The DEV_PATH_BR_VLAN_UNTAG case post-decrements info->num_encaps inside WARN_ON_ONCE(). num_encaps is u8, so if it's already 0 the decrement still happens and wraps it to 255. The break only leaves the inner switch -- a later path entry can set info->indev back to a real device, and we end up returning with num_encaps == 255. nft_dev_forward_path() then walks info.encap[] (size 2) up to num_encaps, which means an OOB stack read and a bogus count copied into the route descriptor. Should only happen on a malformed bridge path stack, hence the WARN, but worth handling sanely. Move the decrement out of the WARN. [ While at this, remove the WARN_ON_ONCE since this can only happen with a buggy bridge path stack --pablo ].

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: bridge: mrp: fix uninitialised bytes on the wire br_mrp_alloc_test_skb() builds MRP test frames on an skb from dev_alloc_skb(), which does not clear the linear data area. On the MRA ring-role branch the sub-option TLV header is appended with sub_tlv = skb_put(skb, sizeof(*sub_tlv)); sub_tlv->type = BR_MRP_SUB_TLV_HEADER_TEST_AUTO_MGR; so sub_tlv->length is never written, and the two trailing alignment bytes are appended with a bare skb_put() that does not clear them either. The neighbouring oui and sub_opt regions are explicitly zeroed, so three uninitialised bytes are left in every MRA MRP_Test frame that goes out. Put the sub-option TLV header and the alignment padding in a single skb_put_zero(), which clears both. The AUTO_MGR sub-TLV carries no payload, so the zeroed length field is already the value it should have.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: bridge: release template ct on non-IP path A bridge nftables ct zone set rule can attach a conntrack template to an skb before nf_ct_bridge_pre() sees it. For non-IPv4 and non-IPv6 EtherTypes, nf_ct_bridge_pre() currently overwrites skb->_nfct with IP_CT_UNTRACKED without releasing the existing template reference. That makes the per-cpu template, and any temporary templates allocated for concurrent use, unreachable and leaks memory until the host runs out of slab. Reset the skb conntrack state before marking the frame untracked so the existing template reference is dropped on the non-IP path.

  • Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: bridge: stop fast-leave after deleting a port group br_multicast_leave_group() iteratCVE-2026-74480 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: bridge: stop fast-leave after deleting a port group br_multicast_leave_group() iterates mp->ports with pp = &p->next in its fast-leave path. After br_multicast_del_pg() removes p, continuing the loop advances pp through the deleted entry. If multicast-to-unicast was enabled, the bridge can hold multiple port groups for the same port and group with different source MAC addresses. Once multicast-to-unicast is disabled, br_port_group_equal() matches those entries by port only. A fast leave can then delete one entry and continue from its stale next pointer, leaving mp->ports pointing at a deleted port group. Fast leave only needs to remove one matching port group. Break after br_multicast_del_pg() so the loop stops before dereferencing the removed entry.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nft_compat: ebtables emulation must reject non-bridge targets xtables targets return netfilter verdicts: NF_ACCEPT, NF_DROP, and so on. ebtables targets return incompatible verdicts: EBT_ACCEPT, EBT_DROP, ... We cannot allow fallback to NFPROTO_UNSPEC. ebtables doesn't permit this since 11ff7288beb2 ("netfilter: ebtables: reject non-bridge targets") but that commit missed the nft_compat layer.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bridge: stp: Fix a potential use-after-free when deleting a bridge The three STP timers are not supposed to be armed while the bridge is administratively down. They are synchronously deactivated when the bridge is put administratively down and the various call sites check for 'IFF_UP' before arming them. This check is missing from br_topology_change_detection() and it is possible to engineer a situation in which the topology change timer is armed while the bridge is administratively down, resulting in a use-after-free [1] when the bridge is deleted. Fix by adding the missing check and for good measures synchronously shutdown the three timers when the bridge is deleted. • Aug 15, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_queue: pin bridge device while NFQUEUE holds fake dst The br_netfilter fake CVE-2026-72255 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_queue: pin bridge device while NFQUEUE holds fake dst The br_netfilter fake rtable is embedded in struct net_bridge and is attached to bridged packets with skb_dst_set_noref(). If such a packet is queued to NFQUEUE, __nf_queue() upgrades that fake dst with skb_dst_force(). At that point the queued skb can hold a real dst reference after bridge teardown has started. The problem is not that every bridged packet needs its own dst reference. The problem is that NFQUEUE can keep the bridge private fake dst alive after unregister begins. Fix this by keeping the bridge fake dst model unchanged and pinning the bridge master device only while the packet sits in NFQUEUE. Record the bridge device in nf_queue_entry when the queued skb carries a bridge fake dst, take a device reference for the queue lifetime, and drop it when the queue entry is freed. Also make sure queued entries are reaped when that bridge device goes down, and drop the redundant nf_bridge_info_exists() test from the fake dst detection. This keeps netdev_priv(br->dev) alive until verdict completion, so the embedded fake rtable and its metr

  • Aug 12, 2026NortheBridge/luminalshine is a Sunshine-compatible game stream host for Moonlight.CVE-2026-50544 · Other software · NortheBridge · reported by GitHubMedium 6.3

NortheBridge/luminalshine is a Sunshine-compatible game stream host for Moonlight. Prior to version 26.05.0-rc4, a latent gap exists on a default install, the file at `src/platform/windows/misc.cpp` lives at `C:\ProgramData\LuminalShine\config\apps.json` and is created by the `SYSTEM` service. Under Windows' default `C:\ProgramData` inheritance, that gives `BUILTIN\Users` only Read+Execute — not writable — so the canonical EoP doesn't actually trigger on a vanilla install. Version 26.05.0-rc4 contains a patch for the issue. As a workaround, use default condition DACLs for `ProgramData`.
