  • Apr 21, 2026Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in Erlang OTP ssh (ssh_sftpd module) allows an authenticated SFTP uCVE-2026-32147 · Other software · Erlang · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbMedium 5.3

Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in Erlang OTP ssh (ssh_sftpd module) allows an authenticated SFTP user to modify file attributes outside the configured chroot directory. The SFTP daemon (ssh_sftpd) stores the raw, user-supplied path in file handles instead of the chroot-resolved path. When SSH_FXP_FSETSTAT is issued on such a handle, file attributes (permissions, ownership, timestamps) are modified on the real filesystem path, bypassing the root directory boundary entirely. Any authenticated SFTP user on a server configured with the root option can modify file attributes of files outside the intended chroot boundary. The prerequisite is that a target file must exist on the real filesystem at the same relative path. Note that this vulnerability only allows modification of file attributes; file contents cannot be read or altered through this attack vector. If the SSH daemon runs as root, this enables direct privilege escalation: an attacker can set the setuid bit on any binary, change ownership of sensitive files, or make system configuration world-writable. This vulnerability is associated with program files lib/ssh/sr

In iTerm2 through 3.6.9, displaying a .txt file can cause code execution via DCS 2000p and OSC 135 data, if the working directory contains a malicious file whose name is valid output from the conductor encoding path, such as a pathname with an initial ace/c+ substring, aka "hypothetical in-band signaling abuse." This occurs because iTerm2 accepts the SSH conductor protocol from terminal output that does not originate from a legitimate conductor session.

  • Apr 17, 2026JetBackup – Backup, Restore & Migrate: Path Traversal leading to Arbitrary Directory DeletionCVE-2026-4853 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 4.9

The JetBackup – Backup, Restore & Migrate plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Path Traversal leading to Arbitrary Directory Deletion in versions up to and including 3.1.19.8. This is due to insufficient input validation on the fileName parameter in the file upload handler. The plugin sanitizes the fileName parameter using sanitize_text_field(), which removes HTML tags but does not prevent path traversal sequences like '../'. The unsanitized filename is then directly concatenated in Upload::getFileLocation() without using basename() or validating the resolved path stays within the intended directory. When an invalid file is uploaded, the cleanup logic calls dirname() on the traversed path and passes it to Util::rm(), which recursively deletes the entire resolved directory. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with administrator-level access to traverse outside the intended upload directory and trigger deletion of critical WordPress directories such as wp-content/plugins, effectively disabling all installed plugins and causing severe site disruption.

  • Apr 16, 2026@fastify/static versions 8.0.0 through 9.1.0 allow path traversal when directory listing is enabled via the list option.CVE-2026-6410 · Other software · @fastify/static · reported by ce714d77-add3-4f53-aff5-83d477b104bbMedium 5.3

@fastify/static versions 8.0.0 through 9.1.0 allow path traversal when directory listing is enabled via the list option. The dirList.path() function resolves directories outside the configured static root using path.join() without a containment check. A remote unauthenticated attacker can obtain directory listings for arbitrary directories accessible to the Node.js process, disclosing directory and file names. File contents are not disclosed. Upgrade to @fastify/static 9.1.1 to fix this issue. As a workaround, disable directory listing by removing the list option from the plugin configuration.

Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in Apache PDFBox Examples. This issue affects the ExtractEmbeddedFiles example in Apache PDFBox: from 2.0.24 through 2.0.36, from 3.0.0 through 3.0.7. Users are recommended to update to version 2.0.37 or 3.0.8 once available. Until then, they should apply the fix provided in GitHub PR 427. The ExtractEmbeddedFiles example contained a path traversal vulnerability (CWE-22) mentioned in CVE-2026-23907. However the change in the releases 2.0.36 and 3.0.7 is flawed because it doesn't consider the file path separator. Because of that, a user having writing rights on /home/ABC could be victim to a malicious PDF resulting in a write attempt to any path starting with /home/ABC, e.g. "/home/ABCDEF". Users who have copied this example into their production code should apply the mentioned change. The example has been changed accordingly and is available in the project repository.

The UsersWP – Front-end login form, User Registration, User Profile & Members Directory plugin for WP plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to blind Server-Side Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 1.2.58. This is due to insufficient URL origin validation in the process_image_crop() method when processing avatar/banner image crop operations. The function accepts a user-controlled URL via the uwp_crop POST parameter and only validates it using esc_url() for sanitization and wp_check_filetype() for extension verification, without enforcing that the URL references a local uploads file. The URL is then passed to uwp_resizeThumbnailImage() which uses it in PHP image processing functions (getimagesize(), imagecreatefrom*()) that support URL wrappers and perform outbound HTTP requests. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access and above to coerce the WordPress server into making arbitrary HTTP requests to attacker-controlled or internal network destinations, enabling internal network scanning and potential access to sensitive services.

Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory (CWE-22) in Logstash can lead to arbitrary file write and potentially remote code execution via Relative Path Traversal (CAPEC-139). The archive extraction utilities used by Logstash do not properly validate file paths within compressed archives. An attacker who can serve a specially crafted archive to Logstash through a compromised or attacker-controlled update endpoint can write arbitrary files to the host filesystem with the privileges of the Logstash process. File Browser is a file managing interface for uploading, deleting, previewing, renaming, and editing files within a specified directory. From 2.0.0 until 2.33.8, the hook system in File Browser — which executes administrator-defined shell commands on file events such as upload, rename, and delete — is vulnerable to OS command injection. Variable substitution for values like $FILE and $USERNAME is performed via os.Expand without sanitization. An attacker with file write permission can craft a malicious filename containing shell metacharacters, causing the server to execute arbitrary OS commands when the hook fires. This results in Remote Code Execution (RCE). This feature has been disabled by default for all installations from v2.33.8 onwards, including for existent installations.

  • Apr 7, 2026Incorrect Authorization vulnerability in Erlang OTP (inets modules) allows unauthenticated access to CGI scripts protected by directory rules when served via scCVE-2026-28808 · Other software · Erlang · reported by 6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49dbHigh 8.3

Incorrect Authorization vulnerability in Erlang OTP (inets modules) allows unauthenticated access to CGI scripts protected by directory rules when served via script_alias. When script_alias maps a URL prefix to a directory outside DocumentRoot, mod_auth evaluates directory-based access controls against the DocumentRoot-relative path while mod_cgi executes the script at the ScriptAlias-resolved path. • Apr 4, 2026Ultimate Member – User Profile, Registration, Login, Member Directory, Content Restriction & Membership: Stored Cross-Site ScriptingCVE-2025-15064 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 6.4

The Ultimate Member – User Profile, Registration, Login, Member Directory, Content Restriction & Membership Plugin plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the user description field in all versions up to, and including, 2.11.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The vulnerability is only exploitable when "HTML support for user description" is enabled in Ultimate Member settings.

File Browser is a file managing interface for uploading, deleting, previewing, renaming, and editing files within a specified directory. Prior to version 2.62.2, the signupHandler in File Browser applies default user permissions via d.settings.Defaults.Apply(user), then strips only Admin. The Execute permission and Commands list from the default user template are not stripped.
