In versions 3.4.0 through 3.4.9, 3.3.0 through 3.3.9, and 3.2.0 through 3.2.7, `internal_dwa_compressor.h:1040` performs `chan->width * chan->bytes_per_element` in `int32` arithmetic without a `(size_t)` cast. This is the same overflow pattern fixed in other decoders by CVE-2026-34589/34588/34544, but this line was missed. Versions 3.4.10, 3.3.10, and 3.2.8 contain a fix that addresses `internal_dwa_compressor.h:1040`.

Apr 20, 2026OpenEXR provides the specification and reference implementation of the EXR file format, an image storage format for the motion picture industry.CVE-2026-39886 · Other software · AcademySoftwareFoundation · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3
OpenEXR provides the specification and reference implementation of the EXR file format, an image storage format for the motion picture industry. Versions 3.4.0 through 3.4.9 have a signed integer overflow vulnerability in OpenEXR's HTJ2K (High-Throughput JPEG 2000) decompression path. The `ht_undo_impl()` function in `src/lib/OpenEXRCore/internal_ht.cpp` accumulates a bytes-per-line value (`bpl`) using a 32-bit signed integer with no overflow guard. A crafted EXR file with 16,385 FLOAT channels at the HTJ2K maximum width of 32,767 causes `bpl` to overflow `INT_MAX`, producing undefined behavior confirmed by UBSan. On an allocator-permissive host where the required ~64 GB allocation succeeds, the wrapped negative `bpl` value would subsequently be used as a per-scanline pointer advance, which would produce a heap out-of-bounds write. On a memory-constrained host, the allocation fails before `ht_undo_impl()` is entered. This is the second distinct integer overflow in `ht_undo_impl()`. CVE-2026-34545 addressed a different overflow in the same function — the `int16_t p` pixel-loop counter at line ~302 that overflows when iterating over channels whose `width` exceeds 32,767. The CVE-2026

Apr 18, 2026Categories Images: Stored Cross-Site ScriptingCVE-2026-2505 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 5.4
The Categories Images plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting in versions up to, and including, 3.3.1, via the 'z_taxonomy_image' shortcode. This is due to the shortcode rendering path passing attacker-controlled class input into a fallback image builder that concatenates HTML attributes without proper escaping. Apr 17, 2026SAIL is a cross-platform library for loading and saving images with support for animation, metadata, and ICC profiles.CVE-2026-40494 · Other software · HappySeaFox · reported by GitHubCritical 9.8
SAIL is a cross-platform library for loading and saving images with support for animation, metadata, and ICC profiles. Prior to commit 45d48d1f2e8e0d73e80bc1fd5310cb57f4547302, the TGA codec's RLE decoder in `tga.c` has an asymmetric bounds check vulnerability. The run-packet path (line 297) correctly clamps the repeat count to the remaining buffer space, but the raw-packet path (line 305-311) has no equivalent bounds check. This allows writing up to 496 bytes of attacker-controlled data past the end of a heap buffer. Commit 45d48d1f2e8e0d73e80bc1fd5310cb57f4547302 patches the issue.

Apr 17, 2026SAIL is a cross-platform library for loading and saving images with support for animation, metadata, and ICC profiles.CVE-2026-40493 · Other software · HappySeaFox · reported by GitHubCritical 9.8
SAIL is a cross-platform library for loading and saving images with support for animation, metadata, and ICC profiles. Prior to commit c930284445ea3ff94451ccd7a57c999eca3bc979, the PSD codec computes bytes-per-pixel (`bpp`) from raw header fields `channels * depth`, but the pixel buffer is allocated based on the resolved pixel format. For LAB mode with `channels=3, depth=16`, `bpp = (3*16+7)/8 = 6`, but the format `BPP40_CIE_LAB` allocates only 5 bytes per pixel. Every pixel write overshoots, causing a deterministic heap buffer overflow on every row. Commit c930284445ea3ff94451ccd7a57c999eca3bc979 contains a patch.

Apr 17, 2026SAIL is a cross-platform library for loading and saving images with support for animation, metadata, and ICC profiles.CVE-2026-40492 · Other software · HappySeaFox · reported by GitHubCritical 9.8
SAIL is a cross-platform library for loading and saving images with support for animation, metadata, and ICC profiles. Prior to commit 36aa5c7ec8a2bb35f6fb867a1177a6f141156b02, the XWD codec resolves pixel format based on `pixmap_depth` but the byte-swap code uses `bits_per_pixel` independently. When `pixmap_depth=8` (BPP8_INDEXED, 1 byte/pixel buffer) but `bits_per_pixel=32`, the byte-swap loop accesses memory as `uint32_t*`, reading/writing 4x the allocated buffer size. This is a different vulnerability from the previously reported GHSA-3g38-x2pj-mv55 (CVE-2026-27168), which addressed `bytes_per_line` validation. Commit 36aa5c7ec8a2bb35f6fb867a1177a6f141156b02 contains a patch.

Apr 10, 2026Optimole – Optimize Images in Real Time: Reflected Cross-Site ScriptingCVE-2026-5226 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceMedium 6.1
The Optimole – Optimize Images in Real Time plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via URL paths in versions up to, and including, 4.2.3 This is due to insufficient output escaping on user-supplied URL paths in the get_current_url() function, which are inserted into JavaScript code via str_replace() without proper JavaScript context escaping in the replace_content() function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a link.

Apr 10, 2026Optimole – Optimize Images | Convert WebP & AVIF | CDN & Lazy Load | Image Optimization: Stored Cross-Site ScriptingCVE-2026-5217 · WordPress plugins & themes · reported by WordfenceHigh 7.2
The Optimole – Optimize Images | Convert WebP & AVIF | CDN & Lazy Load | Image Optimization plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting in all versions up to, and including, 4.2.2. This is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the user-supplied 's' parameter (srcset descriptor) in the unauthenticated /wp-json/optimole/v1/optimizations REST endpoint. The endpoint validates requests using an HMAC signature and timestamp, but these values are exposed directly in the frontend HTML making them accessible to any visitor. The plugin uses sanitize_text_field() on the descriptor value of rest.php, which strips HTML tags but does not escape double quotes. The poisoned descriptor is then stored via transients (backed by the WordPress options table) and later retrieved and injected verbatim into the srcset attribute of tag_replacer.php without proper escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages that will execute whenever a user accesses the injected page.

Apr 10, 2026Arcane is an interface for managing Docker containers, images, networks, and volumes.CVE-2026-40242 · Other software · getarcaneapp · reported by GitHubHigh 7.2
Arcane is an interface for managing Docker containers, images, networks, and volumes. Prior to 1.17.3, the /api/templates/fetch endpoint accepts a caller-supplied url parameter and performs a server-side HTTP GET request to that URL without authentication and without URL scheme or host validation. The server's response is returned directly to the caller. type. This constitutes an unauthenticated SSRF vulnerability affecting any publicly reachable Arcane instance. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.17.3.

Apr 10, 2026Rembg is a tool to remove images background.CVE-2026-40086 · Other software · danielgatis · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3
Rembg is a tool to remove images background. Prior to 2.0.75, a path traversal vulnerability in the rembg HTTP server allows unauthenticated remote attackers to read arbitrary files from the server's filesystem. By sending a crafted request with a malicious model_path parameter, an attacker can force the server to attempt loading any file as an ONNX model, revealing file existence, permissions, and potentially file contents through error messages. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.0.75.

Apr 9, 2026A flaw was found in gnutls.CVE-2026-1584 · Other software · Red Hat · reported by Red HatHigh 7.5
A flaw was found in gnutls. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted ClientHello message with an invalid Pre-Shared Key (PSK) binder value during the TLS handshake. This can lead to a NULL pointer dereference, causing the server to crash and resulting in a remote Denial of Service (DoS) condition.

Apr 9, 2026An out-of-bounds read vulnerability exists in the `DecodeLookupTable` function within `DicomImageDecoder.cpp`.CVE-2026-5445 · Other software · Orthanc · reported by cret@cert.orgCritical 9.1
An out-of-bounds read vulnerability exists in the `DecodeLookupTable` function within `DicomImageDecoder.cpp`. The lookup-table decoding logic used for `PALETTE COLOR` images does not validate pixel indices against the lookup table size. Crafted images containing indices larger than the palette size cause the decoder to read beyond allocated lookup table memory and expose heap contents in the output image.

Apr 9, 2026A heap buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the PAM image parsing logic.CVE-2026-5444 · Other software · Orthanc · reported by cret@cert.orgHigh 7.1
A heap buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the PAM image parsing logic. When Orthanc processes a crafted PAM image embedded in a DICOM file, image dimensions are multiplied using 32-bit unsigned arithmetic. Specially chosen values can cause an integer overflow during buffer size calculation, resulting in the allocation of a small buffer followed by a much larger write operation during pixel processing.

Apr 9, 2026A heap buffer overflow vulnerability exists during the decoding of `PALETTE COLOR` DICOM images.CVE-2026-5443 · Other software · Orthanc · reported by cret@cert.orgCritical 9.8
A heap buffer overflow vulnerability exists during the decoding of `PALETTE COLOR` DICOM images. Pixel length validation uses 32-bit multiplication for width and height calculations. If these values overflow, the validation check incorrectly succeeds, allowing the decoder to read and write to memory beyond allocated buffers.

Apr 9, 2026A heap buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the DICOM image decoder.CVE-2026-5442 · Other software · Orthanc · reported by cret@cert.orgCritical 9.8
A heap buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the DICOM image decoder. Dimension fields are encoded using Value Representation (VR) Unsigned Long (UL), instead of the expected VR Unsigned Short (US), which allows extremely large dimensions to be processed. This causes an integer overflow during frame size calculation and results in out-of-bounds memory access during image decoding.

Apr 9, 2026An out-of-bounds read vulnerability exists in the `DecodePsmctRle1` function of `DicomImageDecoder.cpp`.CVE-2026-5441 · Other software · Orthanc · reported by cret@cert.orgHigh 7.1
An out-of-bounds read vulnerability exists in the `DecodePsmctRle1` function of `DicomImageDecoder.cpp`. The `PMSCT_RLE1` decompression routine, which decodes the proprietary Philips Compression format, does not properly validate escape markers placed near the end of the compressed data stream. A crafted sequence at the end of the buffer can cause the decoder to read beyond the allocated memory region and leak heap data into the rendered image output.
