  • May 15, 2026Imager versions through 1.030 for Perl allow a heap out of bounds (OOB) write on crafted multi-frame GIF files.CVE-2026-8669 · Other software · TONYC · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eMedium 6.5

    Imager versions through 1.030 for Perl allow a heap out of bounds (OOB) write on crafted multi-frame GIF files. Imager::File::GIF's i_readgif_multi_low allocates a single per-row buffer GifRow sized for the GIF's global screen width 'SWidth' and reuses it across every image in the file. The page-match branch validates Image.Width + Image.Left > SWidth before each DGifGetLine write, but the parallel skip-image branch at imgif.c:790-805 calls DGifGetLine(GifFile, GifRow, Width) with no such check.

  • May 14, 2026OpenImageIO is a toolset for reading, writing, and manipulating image files of any image file format relevant to VFX / animation.CVE-2026-43996 · Other software · AcademySoftwareFoundation · reported by GitHubMedium 5.5

    OpenImageIO is a toolset for reading, writing, and manipulating image files of any image file format relevant to VFX / animation. Prior to 3.0.18.0 and 3.1.13.0, the bounds check in TGAInput::decode_pixel computes k + palbytespp as unsigned 32-bit arithmetic. When k = 0xFFFFFFFC and palbytespp = 4, the addition wraps to 0, which compares less than palette_alloc_size and passes the check. The subsequent palette access uses the unwrapped k (0xFFFFFFFC) as the index, reading ~4 GB past the start of the palette buffer — SEGV. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.0.18.0 and 3.1.13.0.

    OpenImageIO is a toolset for reading, writing, and manipulating image files of any image file format relevant to VFX / animation. Prior to 3.0.18.0 and 3.1.13.0, a signed 32-bit integer overflow in the loop index expression i * 4 inside SwapRGBABytes() causes the function to compute a large negative pointer offset when processing kABGR DPX images with large dimensions. The immediate crash is an out-of-bounds read (the memcpy at line 45 reads from &input[i * 4] first), but the subsequent write operations at lines 46–49 target the same wrapped offset — making this a combined OOB read+write primitive. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.0.18.0 and 3.1.13.0.

    OpenImageIO is a toolset for reading, writing, and manipulating image files of any image file format relevant to VFX / animation. Prior to 3.0.18.0 and 3.1.13.0, a signed 32-bit integer overflow in the pixel-loop index expression i * 3 inside ConvertCbYCrYToRGB() causes the function to compute a large negative pointer offset into the output buffer, producing an out-of-bounds write that crashes the process. OpenImageIO is a toolset for reading, writing, and manipulating image files of any image file format relevant to VFX / animation. Prior to 3.0.18.0 and 3.1.13.0, a signed integer overflow in QueryRGBBufferSizeInternal() in DPXColorConverter.cpp leads to a heap-based out-of-bounds write when processing crafted DPX image files. The function computes buffer sizes using 32-bit signed integer arithmetic with negative multipliers (e.g., pixels * -3 * bytes for kCbYCr descriptors and pixels * -4 * bytes for kABGR descriptors), where a negative result is used as an in-band signal that no separate buffer is needed. When the pixel count is sufficiently large, the multiplication overflows INT_MIN and wraps to a small positive value. The caller in dpxinput.cpp interprets this positive value as a required buffer size, allocates an undersized heap buffer via m_decodebuf.resize(), and then writes the full image data into it via fread, resulting in a heap buffer overflow. An attacker can exploit this by crafting a DPX file that triggers the overflow, causing a denial of service (crash) or potentially arbitrary code execution through heap corruption in any application that reads pixel data using Op

    OpenImageIO is a toolset for reading, writing, and manipulating image files of any image file format relevant to VFX / animation. Prior to 3.0.18.0 and 3.1.13.0, a heap-based buffer overflow in the HEIF decoder of OpenImageIO allows out-of-bounds writes via crafted images due to a subimage metadata mismatch, leading to memory corruption and potential code execution. OpenImageIO is a toolset for reading, writing, and manipulating image files of any image file format relevant to VFX / animation. Prior to 3.0.18.0 and 3.1.13.0, jpeg2000input.cpp:395 computes buffer size as const int bufsize = w * h * ch * buffer_bpp using signed 32-bit arithmetic. When the product exceeds INT_MAX, the result wraps to 0 or a small value. m_buf.resize() allocates an undersized buffer, and subsequent pixel write loops cause heap overflow. OpenImageIO is a toolset for reading, writing, and manipulating image files of any image file format relevant to VFX / animation. Prior to 3.0.18.0 and 3.1.13.0, softimageinput.cpp:469 (mixed RLE) and :345 (pure RLE) do not clamp the run length to remaining scanline width before writing pixels. The raw packet path (line 403) correctly clamps with std::min, but RLE paths skip this check. A crafted .pic file causes heap overflow up to 65535 bytes. apko allows users to build and publish OCI container images built from apk packages. Prior to version 1.2.7, DiscoverKeys in pkg/apk/apk/implementation.go unconditionally type-asserts JWKS keys as *rsa.PublicKey without checking the key type. Prior to version 1.2.7, apko verifies the signature on APKINDEX.tar.gz but never compares individually downloaded .apk packages against the checksum recorded in the signed index. • May 9, 2026Arcane is an interface for managing Docker containers, images, networks, and volumes.CVE-2026-42461 · Other software · getarcaneapp · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7

    Arcane is an interface for managing Docker containers, images, networks, and volumes. Prior to version 1.18.0, four GET endpoints under /api/templates* in Arcane's Huma backend are registered without any Security requirement, allowing any unauthenticated network client to list and read the full Compose YAML and .env content of every custom template stored in the instance. Because Arcane's UI exposes a "Save as Template" flow on the project / swarm-stack creation pages that persists the operator's real env content (database passwords, API keys, etc.) verbatim, this missing authorization is an unauthenticated read of operator secrets in practice — not a theoretical info-disclosure. The frontend explicitly treats /customize/templates/* as an authenticated area (PROTECTED_PREFIXES in frontend/src/lib/utils/redirect.util.ts), and every CRUD operation (POST/PUT/DELETE) on the same paths requires a Bearer/API key, so this is a clear backend authorization gap, not intended public access. This issue has been patched in version 1.18.0.

    OpenEXR provides the specification and reference implementation of the EXR file format, an image storage format for the motion picture industry. From versions 3.0.0 to before 3.2.9, 3.3.0 to before 3.3.11, and 3.4.0 to before 3.4.11, IDManifest::init() reconstructs strings from a prefix-compressed representation. If the previous string is longer than 255 bytes, the next string is expected to begin with a 2-byte prefix length. The code reads stringList[i][0] and stringList[i][1] without checking that the current string has at least two bytes. This issue has been patched in versions 3.2.9, 3.3.11, and 3.4.11.

  • May 6, 2026A type confusion vulnerability in Qt SVG allows an attacker to cause an application crash via a crafted SVG image.CVE-2026-6210 · Other software · Qt · reported by a59d8014-47c4-4630-ab43-e1b13cbe58e3High 8.7

    A type confusion vulnerability in Qt SVG allows an attacker to cause an application crash via a crafted SVG image. When processing SVG marker references, the renderer retrieves a node by its id attribute and casts it to QSvgMarker* without verifying the node type. A non-marker element (such as a <line> element) that references itself as a marker triggers an out-of-bounds heap read due to the object size difference between QSvgLine and QSvgMarker, followed by an endless recursion that bypasses the marker recursion guard through incorrect virtual dispatch. The result is an application crash (denial of service). This issue affects Qt SVG:  from 6.7.0 before 6.8.8, from 6.9.0 before 6.11.1.

  • May 4, 2026CImg Library is a C++ library for image processing.CVE-2026-42146 · Other software · GreycLab · reported by GitHubMedium 5.5

    CImg Library is a C++ library for image processing. Prior to commit c3aacf5, the nb_colors field read from the BMP file header is used directly to compute an allocation size without validating it against the remaining file size. A crafted BMP file with a large nb_colors value triggers an out-of-memory condition, crashing any application that uses CImg to load untrusted BMP files. This issue has been patched via commit c3aacf5.

    CImg Library is a C++ library for image processing. Prior to commit 4ca26bc, there is an integer overflow vulnerability in the W*H*D size computation inside _load_pnm() that can bypass the memory allocation guard. A crafted PNM/PGM/PPM file with large dimension values causes the overflow to wrap around, allocating an undersized buffer and potentially triggering a heap buffer overflow. Any application using CImg to load untrusted image files is affected. This issue has been patched via commit 4ca26bc.
