  • Feb 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: ems_usb: ems_usb_read_bulk_callback(): fix URB memory leak Fix similar memory leak asCVE-2026-23058 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: ems_usb: ems_usb_read_bulk_callback(): fix URB memory leak Fix similar memory leak as in commit 7352e1d5932a ("can: gs_usb: gs_usb_receive_bulk_callback(): fix URB memory leak"). In ems_usb_open(), the URBs for USB-in transfers are allocated, added to the dev->rx_submitted anchor and submitted. In the complete callback ems_usb_read_bulk_callback(), the URBs are processed and resubmitted. In ems_usb_close() the URBs are freed by calling usb_kill_anchored_urbs(&dev->rx_submitted). However, this does not take into account that the USB framework unanchors the URB before the complete function is called. This means that once an in-URB has been completed, it is no longer anchored and is ultimately not released in ems_usb_close(). Fix the memory leak by anchoring the URB in the ems_usb_read_bulk_callback() to the dev->rx_submitted anchor.

  • Feb 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vsock/virtio: Coalesce only linear skb vsock/virtio common tries to coalesce buffers in rxCVE-2026-23057 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vsock/virtio: Coalesce only linear skb vsock/virtio common tries to coalesce buffers in rx queue: if a linear skb (with a spare tail room) is followed by a small skb (length limited by GOOD_COPY_LEN = 128), an attempt is made to join them. Since the introduction of MSG_ZEROCOPY support, assumption that a small skb will always be linear is incorrect. In the zerocopy case, data is lost and the linear skb is appended with uninitialized kernel memory. Of all 3 supported virtio-based transports, only loopback-transport is affected. G2H virtio-transport rx queue operates on explicitly linear skbs; see virtio_vsock_alloc_linear_skb() in virtio_vsock_rx_fill(). H2G vhost-transport may allocate non-linear skbs, but only for sizes that are not considered for coalescence; see PAGE_ALLOC_COSTLY_ORDER in virtio_vsock_alloc_skb(). Ensure only linear skbs are coalesced. Note that skb_tailroom(last_skb) > 0 guarantees last_skb is linear.

  • Feb 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: uacce: implement mremap in uacce_vm_ops to return -EPERM The current uacce_vm_ops does notCVE-2026-23056 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: uacce: implement mremap in uacce_vm_ops to return -EPERM The current uacce_vm_ops does not support the mremap operation of vm_operations_struct. Implement .mremap to return -EPERM to remind users. The reason we need to explicitly disable mremap is that when the driver does not implement .mremap, it uses the default mremap method. This could lead to a risk scenario: An application might first mmap address p1, then mremap to p2, followed by munmap(p1), and finally munmap(p2). Since the default mremap copies the original vma's vm_private_data (i.e., q) to the new vma, both munmap operations would trigger vma_close, causing q->qfr to be freed twice(qfr will be set to null here, so repeated release is ok).

  • Feb 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: hv_netvsc: reject RSS hash key programming without RX indirection table RSS configuraCVE-2026-23054 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: hv_netvsc: reject RSS hash key programming without RX indirection table RSS configuration requires a valid RX indirection table. When the device reports a single receive queue, rndis_filter_device_add() does not allocate an indirection table, accepting RSS hash key updates in this state leads to a hang. Fix this by gating netvsc_set_rxfh() on ndc->rx_table_sz and return -EOPNOTSUPP when the table is absent. This aligns set_rxfh with the device capabilities and prevents incorrect behavior.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFS: Fix a deadlock involving nfs_release_folio() Wang Zhaolong reports a deadlock involving NFSv4.1 state recovery waiting on kthreadd, which is attempting to reclaim memory by calling nfs_release_folio(). The latter cannot make progress due to state recovery being needed. It seems that the only safe thing to do here is to kick off a writeback of the folio, without waiting for completion, or else kicking off an asynchronous commit.

  • Feb 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ftrace: Do not over-allocate ftrace memory The pg_remaining calculation in ftrace_process_CVE-2026-23052 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ftrace: Do not over-allocate ftrace memory The pg_remaining calculation in ftrace_process_locs() assumes that ENTRIES_PER_PAGE multiplied by 2^order equals the actual capacity of the allocated page group. However, ENTRIES_PER_PAGE is PAGE_SIZE / ENTRY_SIZE (integer division). When PAGE_SIZE is not a multiple of ENTRY_SIZE (e.g. 4096 / 24 = 170 with remainder 16), high-order allocations (like 256 pages) have significantly more capacity than 256 * 170. This leads to pg_remaining being underestimated, which in turn makes skip (derived from skipped - pg_remaining) larger than expected, causing the WARN(skip != remaining) to trigger. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: imu: st_lsm6dsx: fix iio_chan_spec for sensors without event detection The st_lsm6dsx_acc_channels array of struct iio_chan_spec has a non-NULL event_spec field, indicating support for IIO events. However, event detection is not supported for all sensors, and if userspace tries to configure accelerometer wakeup events on a sensor device that does not support them (e.g. LSM6DS0), st_lsm6dsx_write_event() dereferences a NULL pointer when trying to write to the wakeup register. Define an additional struct iio_chan_spec array whose members have a NULL event_spec field, and use this array instead of st_lsm6dsx_acc_channels for sensors without event detection capability.

  • Feb 4, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: w1: therm: Fix off-by-one buffer overflow in alarms_store The sysfs buffer passed to alarmCVE-2025-71197 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: w1: therm: Fix off-by-one buffer overflow in alarms_store The sysfs buffer passed to alarms_store() is allocated with 'size + 1' bytes and a NUL terminator is appended. However, the 'size' argument does not account for this extra byte. The original code then allocated 'size' bytes and used strcpy() to copy 'buf', which always writes one byte past the allocated buffer since strcpy() copies until the NUL terminator at index 'size'. Fix this by parsing the 'buf' parameter directly using simple_strtoll() without allocating any intermediate memory or string copying. This removes the overflow while simplifying the code.

So if it is equal to usbphyc->nphys then it is one element out of bounds. The "index" comes from the device tree so it's data that we trust and it's unlikely to be wrong, however it's obviously still worth fixing the bug. Change the > to >=.

The btrfs_blocked_trans_types[] array already defines which transaction types should wait for which transaction states, but this check was missing in wait_current_trans(). This can lead to a deadlock scenario involving two transactions and pending ordered extents: 1. Transaction A is in TRANS_STATE_COMMIT_DOING state 2. A worker processing an ordered extent calls start_transaction() with TRANS_JOIN 3. join_transaction() returns -EBUSY because Transaction A is in TRANS_STATE_COMMIT_DOING 4. Transaction A moves to TRANS_STATE_UNBLOCKED and completes 5. A new Transaction B is created (TRANS_STATE_RUNNING) 6. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: make calc_target() set t->paused, not just clear it Currently calc_target() clears t->paused if the request shouldn't be paused anymore, but doesn't ever set t->paused even though it's able to determine when the request should be paused. Setting t->paused is left to __submit_request() which is fine for regular requests but doesn't work for linger requests -- since __submit_request() doesn't operate on linger requests, there is nowhere for lreq->t.paused to be set. One consequence of this is that watches don't get reestablished on paused -> unpaused transitions in cases where requests have been paused long enough for the (paused) unwatch request to time out and for the subsequent (re)watch request to enter the paused state. On top of the watch not getting reestablished, rbd_reregister_watch() gets stuck with rbd_dev->watch_mutex held: rbd_register_watch __rbd_register_watch ceph_osdc_watch linger_reg_commit_wait It's waiting for lreq->reg_commit_wait to be completed, but for that to happen the respective request needs to end up on need_resend_linger list and be kicked when requests

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: PM: hibernate: Fix crash when freeing invalid crypto compressor When crypto_alloc_acomp() fails, it returns an ERR_PTR value, not NULL. The cleanup code in save_compressed_image() and load_compressed_image() unconditionally calls crypto_free_acomp() without checking for ERR_PTR, which causes crypto_acomp_tfm() to dereference an invalid pointer and crash the kernel. This can be triggered when the compression algorithm is unavailable (e.g., CONFIG_CRYPTO_LZO not enabled). Fix by adding IS_ERR_OR_NULL() checks before calling crypto_free_acomp() and acomp_request_free(), similar to the existing kthread_stop() check. [ rjw: Added 2 empty code lines ]

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bnxt_en: Fix NULL pointer crash in bnxt_ptp_enable during error cleanup When bnxt_init_one() fails during initialization (e.g., bnxt_init_int_mode returns -ENODEV), the error path calls bnxt_free_hwrm_resources() which destroys the DMA pool and sets bp->hwrm_dma_pool to NULL. Subsequently, bnxt_ptp_clear() is called, which invokes ptp_clock_unregister(). Since commit a60fc3294a37 ("ptp: rework ptp_clock_unregister() to disable events"), ptp_clock_unregister() now calls ptp_disable_all_events(), which in turn invokes the driver's .enable() callback (bnxt_ptp_enable()) to disable PTP events before completing the unregistration. bnxt_ptp_enable() attempts to send HWRM commands via bnxt_ptp_cfg_pin() and bnxt_ptp_cfg_event(), both of which call hwrm_req_init(). This causes es58x_open() to return early, skipping the cleanup label 'free_urbs', which leads to the anchored URBs being leaked. As pointed out by maintainer Vincent Mailhol, the driver is designed to handle partial URB allocation gracefully. Therefore, partial allocation should not be treated as a fatal error. Modify es58x_alloc_rx_urbs() to return 0 if at least one URB has been allocated, restoring the intended behavior and preventing the leak in es58x_open().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu/userq: Fix fence reference leak on queue teardown v2 The user mode queue keeps a pointer to the most recent fence in userq->last_fence. This pointer holds an extra dma_fence reference. When the queue is destroyed, we free the fence driver and its xarray, but we forgot to drop the last_fence reference. Because of the missing dma_fence_put(), the last fence object can stay alive when the driver unloads. However, this does not take into account that the USB framework unanchors the URB before the complete function is called. This means that once an in-URB has been completed, it is no longer anchored and is ultimately not released in gs_can_close(). Fix the memory leak by anchoring the URB in the gs_usb_receive_bulk_callback() to the parent->rx_submitted anchor.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: LoongArch: KVM: Fix kvm_device leak in kvm_pch_pic_destroy() In kvm_ioctl_create_device(), kvm_device has allocated memory, kvm_device->destroy() seems to be supposed to free its kvm_device struct, but kvm_pch_pic_destroy() is not currently doing this, that would lead to a memory leak. So, fix it.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: qcom: gpi: Fix memory leak in gpi_peripheral_config() Fix a memory leak in gpi_peripheral_config() where the original memory pointed to by gchan->config could be lost if krealloc() fails. The issue occurs when: 1. gchan->config points to previously allocated memory 2. krealloc() fails and returns NULL 3. The function directly assigns NULL to gchan->config, losing the reference to the original memory 4. The original memory becomes unreachable and cannot be freed Fix this by using a temporary variable to hold the krealloc() result and only updating gchan->config when the allocation succeeds. Found via static analysis and code review.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: idpf: fix memory leak of flow steer list on rmmod The flow steering list maintains entries that are added and removed as ethtool creates and deletes flow steering rules. Module removal with active entries causes memory leak as the list is not properly cleaned up. Prevent this by iterating through the remaining entries in the list and freeing the associated memory during module removal. Add a spinlock (flow_steer_list_lock) to protect the list access from multiple threads.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: release path before initializing extent tree in btrfs_read_locked_inode() In btrfs_read_locked_inode() we are calling btrfs_init_file_extent_tree() while holding a path with a read locked leaf from a subvolume tree, and btrfs_init_file_extent_tree() may do a GFP_KERNEL allocation, which can trigger reclaim. Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
