  • Mar 12, 2025Bitdefender Box, versions 1.3.11.490 through 1.3.11.505, uses the insecure HTTP protocol to download assets over the Internet to update and restart daemons and CVE-2024-13872 · Other software · Bitdefender · reported by cve-requests@bitdefender.comCritical 9.4

Bitdefender Box, versions 1.3.11.490 through 1.3.11.505, uses the insecure HTTP protocol to download assets over the Internet to update and restart daemons and detection rules on the devices. Updates can be remotely triggered through the /set_temp_token API method. Then, an unauthenticated and network-adjacent attacker can use man-in-the-middle (MITM) techniques to return malicious responses. Restarted daemons that use malicious assets can then be exploited for remote code execution on the device.

  • Feb 26, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usbnet: ipheth: use static NDP16 location in URB Original code allowed for the start of NDCVE-2025-21742 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.1

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usbnet: ipheth: use static NDP16 location in URB Original code allowed for the start of NDP16 to be anywhere within the URB based on the `wNdpIndex` value in NTH16. Only the start position of NDP16 was checked, so it was possible for even the fixed-length part of NDP16 to extend past the end of URB, leading to an out-of-bounds read. On iOS devices, the NDP16 header always directly follows NTH16. Rely on and check for this specific format. This, along with NCM-specific minimal URB length check that already exists, will ensure that the fixed-length part of NDP16 plus a set amount of DPEs fit within the URB. Note that this commit alone does not fully address the OoB read. The limit on the amount of DPEs needs to be enforced separately.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/fpu: KVM: Set the base guest FPU uABI size to sizeof(struct kvm_xsave) Set the starting uABI size of KVM's guest FPU to 'struct kvm_xsave', i.e. to KVM's historical uABI size. When saving FPU state for usersapce, KVM (well, now the FPU) sets the FP+SSE bits in the XSAVE header even if the host doesn't support XSAVE. Setting the XSAVE header allows the VM to be migrated to a host that does support XSAVE without the new host having to handle FPU state that may or may not be compatible with XSAVE. Setting the uABI size to the host's default size results in out-of-bounds writes (setting the FP+SSE bits) and data corruption (that is thankfully caught by KASAN) when running on hosts without XSAVE, e.g. on Core2 CPUs. WARN if the default size is larger than KVM's historical uABI size; all features that can push the FPU size beyond the historical size must be opt-in. ================================================================== BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in fpu_copy_uabi_to_guest_fpstate+0x86/0x130 Read of size 8 at addr ffff888011e33a00 by task qemu-build/681 CPU: 1 PID: 681 Comm: qemu-build No

  • Feb 26, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ath10k: skip ath10k_halt during suspend for driver state RESTARTING Double free crash is oCVE-2022-49519 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ath10k: skip ath10k_halt during suspend for driver state RESTARTING Double free crash is observed when FW recovery(caused by wmi timeout/crash) is followed by immediate suspend event. The FW recovery is triggered by ath10k_core_restart() which calls driver clean up via ath10k_halt(). When the suspend event occurs between the FW recovery, the restart worker thread is put into frozen state until suspend completes. The suspend event triggers ath10k_stop() which again triggers ath10k_halt() The double invocation of ath10k_halt() causes ath10k_htt_rx_free() to be called twice(Note: ath10k_htt_rx_alloc was not called by restart worker thread because of its frozen state), causing the crash. To fix this, during the suspend flow, skip call to ath10k_halt() in ath10k_stop() when the current driver state is ATH10K_STATE_RESTARTING. Also, for driver state ATH10K_STATE_RESTARTING, call ath10k_wait_for_suspend() in ath10k_stop(). This is because call to ath10k_wait_for_suspend() is skipped later in [ath10k_halt() > ath10k_core_stop()] for the driver state ATH10K_STATE_RESTARTING. The frozen restart worker thread will be canc

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ip_gre: test csum_start instead of transport header GRE with TUNNEL_CSUM will apply local checksum offload on CHECKSUM_PARTIAL packets. ipgre_xmit must validate csum_start after an optional skb_pull, else lco_csum may trigger an overflow. The original check was if (csum && skb_checksum_start(skb) < skb->data) return -EINVAL; This had false positives when skb_checksum_start is undefined: when ip_summed is not CHECKSUM_PARTIAL. A discussed refinement was straightforward if (csum && skb->ip_summed == CHECKSUM_PARTIAL && skb_checksum_start(skb) < skb->data) return -EINVAL; But was eventually revised more thoroughly: - restrict the check to the only branch where needed, in an uncommon GRE path that uses header_ops and calls skb_pull. - test skb_transport_header, which is set along with csum_start in skb_partial_csum_set in the normal header_ops datapath. Turns out skbs can arrive in this branch without the transport header set, e.g., through BPF redirection. Revise the check back to check csum_start directly, and only if CHECKSUM_PARTIAL. Do leave the check in the updated location. Check field re

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rxrpc: Fix call timer start racing with call destruction The rxrpc_call struct has a timer used to handle various timed events relating to a call. This timer can get started from the packet input routines that are run in softirq mode with just the RCU read lock held. Unfortunately, because only the RCU read lock is held - and neither ref or other lock is taken - the call can start getting destroyed at the same time a packet comes in addressed to that call. This causes the timer - which was already stopped - to get restarted. Later, the timer dispatch code may then oops if the timer got deallocated first. Fix this by trying to take a ref on the rxrpc_call struct and, if successful, passing that ref along to the timer. If the timer was already running, the ref is discarded. The timer completion routine can then pass the ref along to the call's work item when it queues it. If the timer or work item where already queued/running, the extra ref is discarded.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mmmremap.c: avoid pointless invalidate_range_start/end on mremap(old_size=0) If an mremap() syscall with old_size=0 ends up in move_page_tables(), it will call invalidate_range_start()/invalidate_range_end() unnecessarily, i.e. with an empty range. This causes a WARN in KVM's mmu_notifier. In the past, empty ranges have been diagnosed to be off-by-one bugs, hence the WARNing. Given the low (so far) number of unique reports, the benefits of detecting more buggy callers seem to outweigh the cost of having to fix cases such as this one, where userspace is doing something silly. In this particular case, an early return from move_page_tables() is enough to fix the issue.
