  • Feb 16, 2026Concierge::Sessions versions from 0.8.1 before 0.8.5 for Perl generate insecure session ids.CVE-2026-2439 · Other software · BVA · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eCritical 9.8

    Concierge::Sessions versions from 0.8.1 before 0.8.5 for Perl generate insecure session ids. The generate_session_id function in Concierge::Sessions::Base defaults to using the uuidgen command to generate a UUID, with a fallback to using Perl's built-in rand function. Neither of these methods are secure, and attackers are able to guess session_ids that can grant them access to systems. Specifically, * There is no warning when uuidgen fails. The software can be quietly using the fallback rand() function with no warnings if the command fails for any reason. * The uuidgen command will generate a time-based UUID if the system does not have a high-quality random number source, because the call does not explicitly specify the --random option. Note that the system time is shared in HTTP responses. * UUIDs are identifiers whose mere possession grants access, as per RFC 9562. * The output of the built-in rand() function is predictable and unsuitable for security applications.

  • Feb 14, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: target: iscsi: Fix use-after-free in iscsit_dec_session_usage_count() In iscsit_dec_CVE-2026-23193 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8

    In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: target: iscsi: Fix use-after-free in iscsit_dec_session_usage_count() In iscsit_dec_session_usage_count(), the function calls complete() while holding the sess->session_usage_lock. Similar to the connection usage count logic, the waiter signaled by complete() (e.g., in the session release path) may wake up and free the iscsit_session structure immediately. This creates a race condition where the current thread may attempt to execute spin_unlock_bh() on a session structure that has already been deallocated, resulting in a KASAN slab-use-after-free. To resolve this, release the session_usage_lock before calling complete() to ensure all dereferences of the sess pointer are finished before the waiter is allowed to proceed with deallocation.

    During session resumption in crypto/tls, if the underlying Config has its ClientCAs or RootCAs fields mutated between the initial handshake and the resumed handshake, the resumed handshake may succeed when it should have failed. This may happen when a user calls Config.Clone and mutates the returned Config, or uses Config.GetConfigForClient. Quick.Cart allows a user's session identifier to be set before authentication. The value of this session ID stays the same after authentication. This behaviour enables an attacker to fix a session ID for a victim and later hijack the authenticated session. Only version 6.7 was tested and confirmed as vulnerable, other versions were not tested and might also be vulnerable.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow the attacker to hijack an authenticated session and compromise sensitive configuration information on the targeted device.
