A flaw was found in libxslt where the attribute type, atype, flags are modified in a way that corrupts internal memory management. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: userns and mnt_idmap leak in open_tree_attr(2) Once want_mount_setattr() has returned a positive, it does require finish_mount_kattr() to release ->mnt_userns. Failing do_mount_setattr() does not change that. As the result, we can end up leaking userns and possibly mnt_idmap as well.

  • Jul 7, 2025The WikiCategoryTagCloud extension is vulnerable to reflected XSS via the linkstyle attribute, which is improperly concatenated into inline HTML without escapinCVE-2025-53486 · Other software · Wikimedia Foundation · reported by c4f26cc8-17ff-4c99-b5e2-38fc1793eaccMedium 5.4

The WikiCategoryTagCloud extension is vulnerable to reflected XSS via the linkstyle attribute, which is improperly concatenated into inline HTML without escaping. An attacker can inject JavaScript event handlers such as onmouseenter using carefully crafted input via the {{#tag:tagcloud}} parser function, resulting in arbitrary JavaScript execution when a victim hovers over a link in the category cloud. The vulnerability exists because the linkstyle parameter is only passed through Sanitizer::checkCss() (which does not escape HTML) and is then directly inserted into a style attribute using string concatenation instead of Html::element or Html::openElement. This issue affects Mediawiki - WikiCategoryTagCloud extension: from 1.39.X before 1.39.13, from 1.42.X before 1.42.7, from 1.43.X before 1.43.2.

  • Jul 4, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: calipso: Fix null-ptr-deref in calipso_req_{set,del}attr().CVE-2025-38181 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: calipso: Fix null-ptr-deref in calipso_req_{set,del}attr(). syzkaller reported a null-ptr-deref in sock_omalloc() while allocating a CALIPSO option. [0] The NULL is of struct sock, which was fetched by sk_to_full_sk() in calipso_req_setattr(). Since commit a1a5344ddbe8 ("tcp: avoid two atomic ops for syncookies"), reqsk->rsk_listener could be NULL when SYN Cookie is returned to its client, as hinted by the leading SYN Cookie log. Here are 3 options to fix the bug: 1) Return 0 in calipso_req_setattr() 2) Return an error in calipso_req_setattr() 3) Alaways set rsk_listener 1) is no go as it bypasses LSM, but 2) effectively disables SYN Cookie for CALIPSO. 3) is also no go as there have been many efforts to reduce atomic ops and make TCP robust against DDoS. See also commit 3b24d854cb35 ("tcp/dccp: do not touch listener sk_refcnt under synflood"). As of the blamed commit, SYN Cookie already did not need refcounting, and no one has stumbled on the bug for 9 years, so no CALIPSO user will care about SYN Cookie. Let's return an error in calipso_req_setattr() and calipso_req_delattr() in the SYN Cookie c

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: fix use-after-free in ntfs_attr_find() Patch series "ntfs: fix bugs about Attribute", v2. This patchset fixes three bugs relative to Attribute in record: Patch 1 adds a sanity check to ensure that, attrs_offset field in first mft record loading from disk is within bounds. Patch 2 moves the ATTR_RECORD's bounds checking earlier, to avoid dereferencing ATTR_RECORD before checking this ATTR_RECORD is within bounds. Patch 3 adds an overflow checking to avoid possible forever loop in ntfs_attr_find(). Without patch 1 and patch 2, the kernel triggersa KASAN use-after-free detection as reported by Syzkaller. Although one of patch 1 or patch 2 can fix this, we still need both of them. Because patch 1 fixes the root cause, and patch 2 not only fixes the direct cause, but also fixes the potential out-of-bounds bug. This patch (of 3): Syzkaller reported use-after-free read as follows: ================================================================== BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in ntfs_attr_find+0xc02/0xce0 fs/ntfs/attrib.c:597 Read of size 2 at addr ffff88807e352009 by task syz-executor153/3607 [...] Call T

  • May 1, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: check overflow when iterating ATTR_RECORDs Kernel iterates over ATTR_RECORDs in mft CVE-2022-49762 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: check overflow when iterating ATTR_RECORDs Kernel iterates over ATTR_RECORDs in mft record in ntfs_attr_find(). Because the ATTR_RECORDs are next to each other, kernel can get the next ATTR_RECORD from end address of current ATTR_RECORD, through current ATTR_RECORD length field. The problem is that during iteration, when kernel calculates the end address of current ATTR_RECORD, kernel may trigger an integer overflow bug in executing `a = (ATTR_RECORD*)((u8*)a + le32_to_cpu(a->length))`. This may wrap, leading to a forever iteration on 32bit systems. This patch solves it by adding some checks on calculating end address of current ATTR_RECORD during iteration.

Concrete CMS version 9 below 9.4.0RC2 and versions below 8.5.20 are vulnerable to CSRF and XSS in the Concrete CMS Address attribute because addresses are not properly sanitized in the output when a country is not specified.  Attackers are limited to individuals whom a site administrator has granted the ability to fill in an address attribute. It is possible for the attacker to glean limited information from the site but amount and type is restricted by mitigating controls and the level of access of the attacker. Limited data modification is possible. The dashboard page itself could be rendered unavailable. The fix only sanitizes new data uploaded post update to Concrete CMS 9.4.0RC2. Existing database entries added before the update will still be “live” if there were successful exploits added under previous versions; a database search is recommended. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpio: aggregator: protect driver attr handlers against module unload Both new_device_store and delete_device_store touch module global resources (e.g. gpio_aggregator_lock). To prevent race conditions with module unload, a reference needs to be held. Add try_module_get() in these handlers. For new_device_store, this eliminates what appears to be the most dangerous scenario: if an id is allocated from gpio_aggregator_idr but platform_device_register has not yet been called or completed, a concurrent module unload could fail to unregister/delete the device, leaving behind a dangling platform device/GPIO forwarder. This can result in various issues. The following simple reproducer demonstrates these problems: #!/bin/bash while :; do # note: whether 'gpiochip0 0' exists or not does not matter. echo 'gpiochip0 0' > /sys/bus/platform/drivers/gpio-aggregator/new_device done & while :; do modprobe gpio-aggregator modprobe -r gpio-aggregator done & wait Starting with the following warning, several kinds of warnings will appear and the system may become unstable: ------------[ cut her

  • Apr 1, 2025In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ethtool: netlink: Allow NULL nlattrs when getting a phy_device ethnl_req_get_phydev()CVE-2025-21921 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Medium 5.5

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ethtool: netlink: Allow NULL nlattrs when getting a phy_device ethnl_req_get_phydev() is used to lookup a phy_device, in the case an ethtool netlink command targets a specific phydev within a netdev's topology. It takes as a parameter a const struct nlattr *header that's used for error handling : if (!phydev) { NL_SET_ERR_MSG_ATTR(extack, header, "no phy matching phyindex"); return ERR_PTR(-ENODEV); } In the notify path after a ->set operation however, there's no request attributes available. The typical callsite for the above function looks like: phydev = ethnl_req_get_phydev(req_base, tb[ETHTOOL_A_XXX_HEADER], info->extack); So, when tb is NULL (such as in the ethnl notify path), we have a nice crash. It turns out that there's only the PLCA command that is in that case, as the other phydev-specific commands don't have a notification. This commit fixes the crash by passing the cmd index and the nlattr array separately, allowing NULL-checking it directly inside the helper.
