  • Sep 24, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: cfg80211: validate IEs in cfg80211_wext_siwgenie() The KASAN allocation trace shows CVE-2026-93784 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: cfg80211: validate IEs in cfg80211_wext_siwgenie() The KASAN allocation trace shows that a malformed IE buffer is stored via SIOCSIWGENIE (cfg80211_wext_siwgenie()) without any validation. The crash trace shows that a subsequent SIOCSIWESSID triggers a connection attempt which calls cfg80211_sme_get_conn_ies() to process the stored IE buffer, causing: - An out-of-bounds read in skip_ie() which reads ies[pos+1] (the length byte) past the end of the 1-byte buffer. - An integer underflow in the memcpy size argument when offs returned by ieee80211_ie_split() exceeds ies_len, causing unsigned subtraction to wrap to SIZE_MAX and triggering a fortify panic. Fix this by validating the IE buffer in cfg80211_wext_siwgenie() before storing it. [drop unnecessary ie_len check, update commit message]

  • Sep 24, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: RFCOMM: validate skb length in rfcomm_recv_frame rfcomm_recv_frame() casts skb-CVE-2026-93783 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: RFCOMM: validate skb length in rfcomm_recv_frame rfcomm_recv_frame() casts skb->data to struct rfcomm_hdr and dereferences hdr->addr and hdr->ctrl without validating skb->len first. A truncated frame with skb->len less than the minimum header size causes an out-of-bounds read of uninitialized memory. Additionally, a zero-length frame causes skb->len-- to underflow to UINT_MAX, making skb_tail_pointer() read far past the buffer. Commit 23882b828c3c ("Bluetooth: RFCOMM: validate skb length in MCC handlers") fixed the same class of missing-length-check bugs in the MCC sub-handlers, but the top-level rfcomm_recv_frame() was left unfixed. KMSAN reports: BUG: KMSAN: uninit-value in rfcomm_run ... Uninit was created at: __alloc_skb+0x474/0xb60 vhci_write+0xe9/0x870 Fix this by rejecting frames smaller than sizeof(struct rfcomm_hdr) + 1 (the minimum frame must have a 3-byte header and a 1-byte FCS).

  • Sep 24, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/bnxt_re: Validate udata before executing commands The destroy callbacks currently zerCVE-2026-93277 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 7.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/bnxt_re: Validate udata before executing commands The destroy callbacks currently zero the udata output after tearing down driver resources. If the userspace access fails, uverbs preserves the uobject and allows the destroy callback to run again, even though the driver resource has already been freed. Call ib_no_udata_io() before teardown so udata failures are detected while the resource is still intact, then return success after teardown completes. As part of this change, move ib_respond_empty_udata() to the start of the create and modify flows. While this is not strictly required for general create flows, as the core layer unwinds uobjects on failure, it is necessary for create AH. In _rdma_create_ah(), the HW object is otherwise leaked.

  • Sep 24, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/x86/intel/pt: Fix stop/start with no update If pt_event_stop() is called without PERFCVE-2026-93275 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/x86/intel/pt: Fix stop/start with no update If pt_event_stop() is called without PERF_EF_UPDATE flag, then perf_aux_output_end() is not called. A subsequent call to pt_event_start() will call perf_aux_output_begin() again which violates the rule against nesting and triggers a WARNING in perf_aux_output_begin(). Originally, pt_event_stop() was never called without PERF_EF_UPDATE, because the only code paths to do so are from event overflow, and Intel PT does not do that. However the introduction of group throttling by commit 9734e25fbf5ae ("perf: Fix the throttle logic for a group") meant that an Intel PT event could be throttled if it was part of a group. Throttling calls PMU ->stop() / ->start() callbacks without flags. An example is when AUX area sampling is used. The following commands hit the issue: echo 10000 > /proc/sys/kernel/perf_event_max_sample_rate perf record -F32000 --aux-sample -e '{intel_pt//u,cycles:u}' \ -- bash -c 'for i in `seq 1 100000` ; do true ; done' Use PERF_HES_UPTODATE to track whether perf_aux_output_begin() and perf_aux_output_end() are balanced. • Sep 24, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/gud: validate TV mode names before creating enum property The GUD protocol returns TV CVE-2026-93234 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/gud: validate TV mode names before creating enum property The GUD protocol returns TV mode names as fixed-size GUD_CONNECTOR_TV_MODE_NAME_LEN entries and requires each name to be NUL-terminated. gud_connector_add_tv_mode() currently passes each fixed-size entry directly to drm_mode_create_tv_properties_legacy(), which eventually reaches drm_property_add_enum() and strlen(). If a device returns an entry without a terminating NUL byte, strlen() reads past the end of the slot and can run beyond the allocated buffer, triggering an out-of-bounds read. Validate that each returned TV mode name contains a NUL terminator within its fixed-size slot before passing it to the DRM property code. If a malformed entry is found, reject the device response with -EIO. This fixes the out-of-bounds read without changing the handling of valid devices, and avoids silently truncating malformed protocol data.

  • Sep 23, 2026In Flatpak before 1.18.1, the revokefs writer, used by the flatpak-system-helper to receive repository data from unprivileged callers, validated file paths by rCVE-2026-96808 · Other software · Flatpak · reported by MITREHigh 7.4

In Flatpak before 1.18.1, the revokefs writer, used by the flatpak-system-helper to receive repository data from unprivileged callers, validated file paths by rejecting literal .. components but did not prevent symlink traversal. A malicious local user in an active local session could obtain two revokefs sessions via the system helper, create a symlink in one session pointing into the other session's directory, and retain a file descriptor through that symlink. This allowed the attacker to modify files belonging to a different revokefs session after they had been validated and imported by the system helper. In particular, an attacker could use this to tamper with ostree commit objects in the system repository after they passed signature verification, enabling root-controlled file writes to attacker-chosen paths and local root privilege escalation.

  • Sep 23, 2026The Tauri updater plugin verifies update binaries using minisign signatures, but the signature covers only the raw binary bytes.CVE-2026-95625 · Other software · Tauri · reported by reefs@jfrog.comMedium 5.9

The Tauri updater plugin verifies update binaries using minisign signatures, but the signature covers only the raw binary bytes. The update manifest -- which contains the version number, download URL, and signature -- is fetched over TLS but is never itself signed or authenticated. Because the only anti-rollback check compares the manifest's version field against the current version, and that field is unsigned, an attacker who can serve a crafted manifest can force installation of any older signed release without possessing the developer's private key.

The Tauri updater plugin's 'check' IPC command accepts an allowDowngrades boolean parameter directly from frontend JavaScript code. When set to true, it replaces the version comparator from "update must be newer" to "update must be different." NumberInput.looksLikeValidNumber() in FasterXML jackson-core pre-validates "stringified numbers" with two regular expressions: PATTERN_FLOAT ([+-]?[0-9]*[\.]?[0-9]+([eE][+-]?[0-9]+)?), present since 2.17.0, and PATTERN_FLOAT_TRAILING_DOT, added in 2.17.2. PATTERN_FLOAT places adjacent quantifiers over the same character class -- an optional [0-9]* run, an optional dot, then a required [0-9]+ run -- so input that ultimately fails to match forces Java's backtracking engine to retry every possible split point of the digit run.  Matching cost therefore grows with the square of the input length.  An attacker who can supply JSON that an application deserializes into a numeric target type reaches this method through jackson-databind's default String-to-number coercion (StdDeserializer and NumberDeserializers for BigDecimal, BigInteger, Double and Float).  Because StreamReadConstraints.maxStringLength defaults to 20,000,000 characters, no constraint bounds the input before it reaches the regex.  Testing by the reporter confirmed O(n^2) growth across five consecutive input-size doublings, with a single 160,000-character string consuming roughly 74 seconds in one call; a small nu

  • Sep 22, 2026The Tauri HTTP plugin validates requested URLs against the application's configured scope allowlist only once, on the initial request.CVE-2026-95623 · Other software · Tauri · reported by reefs@jfrog.comMedium 5.6

The Tauri HTTP plugin validates requested URLs against the application's configured scope allowlist only once, on the initial request. When the remote server responds with an HTTP 3xx redirect, reqwest follows the redirect internally without re-checking the new target URL against the scope. This allows an attacker who controls an allowed URL (or finds an open redirect on an allowed host) to reach disallowed destinations such as cloud metadata endpoints, localhost services, or internal network hosts.

  • Sep 22, 2026Net::IDN::Punycode versions before 2.590 for Perl hang, crash or return a wrong label via unvalidated malformed UTF-8 in encode_punycode.CVE-2026-87082 · Other software · reported by 9b29abf9-4ab0-4765-b253-1875cd9b441eHigh 7.5

Net::IDN::Punycode versions before 2.590 for Perl hang, crash or return a wrong label via unvalidated malformed UTF-8 in encode_punycode. Neither backend checks that its input is well-formed UTF-8, so a string with the UTF-8 flag set over malformed bytes, as the :utf8 PerlIO layer produces from any malformed input, reaches the encoder unchecked. On perl 5.32 and later the XS backend reports a malformed sequence with a length of `(STRLEN)-1`, so the scan steps back one byte instead of forward and never ends. On earlier perls the XS returns a valid label for a different name. The pure-Perl backend runs a regex over the flagged string. Depending on the bytes, it aborts with SIGBUS on perl 5.28 and later, dies with a panic, or returns a wrong label. The documented conversion functions match the label against Unicode properties first and that match dies on such a string, so only a direct call to encode_punycode reaches the defect. The decoder is not affected. A direct caller encoding attacker-supplied bytes hangs, crashes or gets a label for a name the input never held.

  • Sep 21, 2026SAP Fiori Launchpad does not sufficiently validate certain user-controlled input.CVE-2026-76974 · Network & remote access · SAP_SE · reported by cna@sap.comMedium 5.3

SAP Fiori Launchpad does not sufficiently validate certain user-controlled input. An unauthenticated attacker could craft a malicious link that, when clicked by an authenticated user, causes the browser to load attacker-controlled content from an external location. This could be used to exfiltrate sensitive information from the victim's session, resulting in a high impact on confidentiality. There is no impact on integrity and availability.

The Time-aware GPIO syscall verification handler z_vrfy_tgpio_pin_read_ts_ec() in drivers/timeaware_gpio/timeaware_gpio_handlers.c validated only the port device object and passed the caller-supplied timestamp and event_count output pointers to the driver without a K_SYSCALL_MEMORY_WRITE() check. The other handlers in the same file (z_vrfy_tgpio_port_get_time(), z_vrfy_tgpio_port_get_cycles_per_second()) already performed that check, so the omission left one syscall unguarded. tgpio_pin_read_ts_ec() is declared __syscall, so with CONFIG_USERSPACE=y an unprivileged user-mode thread that has been granted access to the TGPIO device object can invoke it with arbitrary pointer values. tgpio_intel_read_ts_ec() in drivers/timeaware_gpio/timeaware_gpio_intel.c bounds-checks only the pin index and then unconditionally performs timestamp = ... and event_count = ..., executing two 8-byte stores in supervisor mode at addresses chosen by the user-mode caller. The result is a write-what-where primitive that crosses the userspace/kernel boundary: the target address is fully attacker-chosen and the stored values are the hardware time-capture and event-counter register contents.
