In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: flush and commit data before querying allocated ranges The mode 0 / FALLOC_FL_KEEP_SIZE fallocate emulation for small interior ranges in smb3_simple_fallocate_range() issues FSCTL_QUERY_ALLOCATED_RANGES and zero-fills any sub-range the server reports as an unallocated hole, to force block allocation without changing file contents. This is unsafe against Windows servers. Per the Win32 documentation, FSCTL_QUERY_ALLOCATED_RANGES only reports ranges that *may* contain nonzero data and is explicitly not coherent with recently written data: "a call to FSCTL_QUERY_ALLOCATED_RANGES [after writing to a network file] would not necessarily return a correct list of allocated regions. To ensure coherency [...] flush the data to the file" fsx (generic/363) reproduces the resulting corruption against Windows Server 2022: a range is written, an uncached read returns the data, yet the next FSCTL_QUERY_ALLOCATED_RANGES on that range reports it as a whole hole, so the emulation overwrites live data with zeroes. A network trace confirmed the WRITE, the READ returning data and the query returning an empty

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: flush dirty data before zeroing a range smb3_zero_range() emulates FALLOC_FL_CVE-2026-98683 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: flush dirty data before zeroing a range smb3_zero_range() emulates FALLOC_FL_ZERO_RANGE by invalidating the page cache over the target range with truncate_pagecache_range() and then issuing FSCTL_SET_ZERO_DATA to the server. Dirty data was only flushed conditionally, when the range reached or extended EOF. For a purely interior zero range that does not reach EOF, no flush happened, so a dirty folio overlapping the range could be written back to the server after the FSCTL and refill the range that was just zeroed with stale data. Fix this by unconditionally flushing and waiting for dirty data in the range before invalidating the page cache and issuing FSCTL_SET_ZERO_DATA, exactly as was done for smb3_punch_hole() in commit d7d2adcd022b ("smb/client: flush dirty data before punching a hole"); the two paths are structurally identical here. This is observed as generic/363 randomly reading stale data where a zeroed range is expected against Windows Server.

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: drain and invalidate before server-side copy/clone cifs_file_copychunk_range(CVE-2026-98682 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: drain and invalidate before server-side copy/clone cifs_file_copychunk_range() and the clone (FICLONE) path of cifs_remap_file_range() do not serialise the destination page cache against the server-side copy the way the other server-side range operations (smb3_zero_range(), smb3_punch_hole(), smb3_collapse_range() and smb3_insert_range()) do. cifs_file_copychunk_range() invalidates the destination range with filemap_invalidate_inode(), which takes and drops the mapping's invalidate_lock internally, so the lock is no longer held when the copychunk ioctl is issued. It also never drains in-flight netfs I/O on the target. The clone path never takes the invalidate_lock at all (only i_rwsem), uses a bare truncate_inode_pages_range() and likewise does not drain outstanding I/O. As a result an asynchronous destination writeback can complete after the server-side copy/clone has run and reinstate stale data over the region just written by the server, corrupting the file. This is the same class of corruption as commit d7d2adcd022b ("smb/client: flush dirty data before punching a hole") and has been seen ra

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: split cifsFileInfo bitfields to avoid shared-byte RMW races The invalidHandleCVE-2026-98681 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: split cifsFileInfo bitfields to avoid shared-byte RMW races The invalidHandle, swapfile, oplock_break_cancelled, offload, and status_file_deleted fields are stored in the same bitfield byte in struct cifsFileInfo, but are updated in different code paths that may run simultaneously, and are protected by different locks. Since bitfield assignments generate byte-level read-modify-write operations, a modification to one flag can overwrite a concurrent modification to another flag. To avoid these races, convert these flags from a bitfield to separate bool fields.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: accel: kionix-kx022a: Prevent memory leak and fix state The driver allocates memory for samples at buffer enable path. If regmap operation fails in the kx022a_fifo_enable() at the buffer enable path, the allocated memory is never freed. Furthermore, the state information and previous hardware configuration(s) aren't undone, potentially leaving WMI interrupts and buffers enabled, or driver state flags wrong. Free the memory and revert the hardware configuration and state flags on error path.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: accel: kxcjk-1013: reject duplicate event disable The IIO core does not filter duplicate writes to the event enable attribute. kxcjk1013_write_event_config() already ignores repeated enable requests, but a repeated disable request still calls kxcjk1013_set_power_state(data, false), dropping a runtime PM reference that was not acquired for this request. This can underflow the runtime PM usage count and trigger a "Runtime PM usage count underflow" warning. Return early when the requested state already matches ev_enable_state.

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: adc: ad_sigma_delta: fix use-after-free on unbind ad_sd_buffer_postenable() allocatesCVE-2026-98677 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: adc: ad_sigma_delta: fix use-after-free on unbind ad_sd_buffer_postenable() allocates sigma_delta->samples_buf with devm_krealloc() at runtime, so its devres entry sits after all probe-time entries of the driver. devm resources are released in reverse allocation order, which means unbind frees samples_buf before iio_device_unregister() disables the buffers and detaches the trigger pollfunc. The data ready IRQ is still enabled at that point, so ad_sd_trigger_handler() can still run and memcpy() incoming samples into the freed samples_buf. Fix this by preallocating the buffer in devm_ad_sd_setup_buffer_and_trigger(), before the triggered buffer and the IRQ are set up, so it is freed only after iio_device_unregister() has drained the trigger handler via free_irq(). Size it for the worst case of all sequencer slots being active; ad_sd_validate_scan_mask() already caps the number of active channels at num_slots. This issue was found by an in-house static analysis tool.

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: adc: ade9000: fix NULL pointer dereference in clkout registration ade9000_setup_clkouCVE-2026-98676 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: adc: ade9000: fix NULL pointer dereference in clkout registration ade9000_setup_clkout() passes NULL as the register address when registering a divider clock. During clock registration, the common clock framework calls clk_divider_recalc_rate(), which dereferences the address through readl(). As a result, probing an ADE9000 configured as a clock provider with an external input clock crashes. CLKOUT passes CLKIN through without changing its rate. Register it as a 1:1 fixed-factor clock, which does not require register access. This change does not affect the configuration using the internal clock, for which the driver does not register a clock provider.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: buffer: serialize buffer teardown with mode claims Buffer-mode claims hold mlock to guarantee that the device remains in buffer mode until the claim is released. Normal buffer updates take info_exist_lock followed by mlock in iio_update_buffers(). However, iio_device_unregister() disables and deactivates all buffers without taking mlock. This can invalidate buffer state, including active_scan_mask, while a buffer-mode claim is held. Take mlock in iio_disable_all_buffers() so that unregister honors the mode-claim lifetime guarantee. The info_exist_lock -> mlock ordering matches iio_update_buffers().

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: frequency: adf4377: Fully initialize clk_init_data and clk_parent_data The clk_init_data structure contains several mutually-exclusive members for different methods to specify the possible parents of a clock, prompting drivers to initialize only the members they need. However, not initializing all members may cause subtle issues, which are only exposed when CONFIG_INIT_STACK_ALL_PATTERN or CONFIG_INIT_STACK_NONE is enabled. adf4377_clk_register() fills in init.parent_data, and assumes that init.parent_names is NULL. However, the latter is uninitialized, and thus may cause a crash. Similarly, adf4377_clk_register() fills in only parent_data.fw_name, leaving other members of the clk_parent_data structure uninitialized. Make sure all members are fully initialized, to fix such bugs, and to avoid future breakage when converting drivers to a different method for specifying the parents.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: proximity: aw96103: validate firmware data length The firmware parser reads a length from the binary header and then uses it to walk six-byte register/value entries. A truncated firmware image can make the parser read beyond the copied firmware buffer. A value smaller than the four-byte count field also underflows, producing a very large length. Read the little-endian field with get_unaligned_le32(), as previously proposed by David Lechner. Validate the header size, reject an underflowed length, ensure the resulting payload is contained in the firmware image, and require it to contain whole register/value entries.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf: Require kernel access for text poke events Perf events with exclude_kernel=1 can be opened without kernel perf access. However, exclude_kernel does not suppress text-poke sideband records. Every PERF_RECORD_TEXT_POKE is marked PERF_RECORD_MISC_KERNEL and contains a raw kernel instruction address. An unprivileged task can therefore open and mmap a task-local software event with text_poke=1. Both opening a count-only tracepoint event and configuring UDP GRO for ESP-in-UDP cause updates to inline static calls; the observer receives the relocated addresses of the modified instructions. For a known kernel image, any such address reveals the runtime kernel text base despite KASLR. Call perf_allow_kernel() whenever attr.text_poke is set, regardless of exclude_kernel. Events that neither monitor kernel execution nor request text-poke records retain their existing permissions.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: s390: Fix potential races in dat skey functions When dat_cond_set_storage_key() finds a large page, it will conditionally set the storage key in absolute memory using large_crste_to_phys() to get the absolute address. There is a race window between dat_entry_walk() and large_crste_to_phys(): the large page could have been split concurrently, and large_crste_to_phys() might be called with a crste that does not designate a large page, leading to crashes. Similar issues were also present in dat_set_storage_key(). dat_get_storage_key() and dat_reset_reference_bit() did instead check for a potential concurrent splitting of the large page, but then handled it incorrectly. Fix by performing a READ_ONCE on the crste pointer, checking and using the result, instead of dereferencing the pointer again. In case a race is detacted, try dat_entry_walk() again.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: winwing: fix use-after-free in force feedback teardown winwing_init_ff() passes the driver's private data, allocated with devm_kzalloc() in winwing_probe(), as the effect context to input_ff_create_memless(). The memoryless force-feedback core takes ownership of that pointer and frees it with kfree() from input_ff_destroy() (ml_ff_destroy()) when the input device is destroyed. Freeing a devm-managed allocation with kfree() is an invalid free, and the same object is then released again by devres when the HID device is torn down, a double free. As the allocation also embeds the LED class devices, their timers and work item live on freed memory and the slab gets corrupted. This triggers on unbind, rmmod, hot-unplug and on system suspend, where the firmware cache walks the now-corrupt devres list. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Avoid soft lockup in __htab_map_lookup_and_delete_batch() __htab_map_lookup_and_delete_batch() has no rescheduling point. The batch count bounds how many entries are copied out, not how many buckets are visited, so one BPF_MAP_LOOKUP_BATCH call can walk the map end to end. The empty-bucket fast path is worse: it stays inside a single rcu_read_lock() / bpf_disable_instrumentation() section for any run of consecutive empty buckets. That holds up on small maps, but it falls apart at scale. On a 144-CPU arm64 host running a CONFIG_PREEMPT_NONE kernel, periodic BPF_MAP_LOOKUP_BATCH calls against an LRU hash map with 16,777,216 buckets held a CPU inside the batch op for 77+ seconds and triggered the soft lockup watchdog. Commit 75134f16e7dd ("bpf: Add schedule points in batch ops") fixed this same problem in the generic batch ops, but not in this htab-native path, which every htab-based hash map variant uses for its lookup[_and_delete] batch ops. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix out-of-bounds read of rtt_min in sock_ops A sockops prog reading skops->rtt_min never checks the sk type: on the tcp_conn_request() path sock_ops->sk is a request_sock (non-full), and the ctx rewrite casts it to a tcp_sock (full) and reads rtt_min past the end of the request_sock, returning dirty adjacent memory. SEC("sockops") int prog(struct bpf_sock_ops *skops) { switch (skops->op) { case BPF_SOCK_OPS_RWND_INIT: leak = skops->rtt_min; /* reads the request_sock OOB */ ... } } For instance one such read returned rtt_min=0xffff8881, the high half of a leaked kernel pointer. Guarding that cast is exactly what SOCK_OPS_GET_FIELD() does -- it checks is_locked_tcp_sock and returns 0 when sock_ops->sk is not a locked full socket. Every other tcp_sock field in sock_ops goes through it; rtt_min is the only one open-coded, so it skips the check. Read rtt_min through SOCK_OPS_GET_FIELD() too. rtt_min is a bit special: it is a struct minmax and we only want the current min, so pass rtt_min.s[0].v. That is equivalent to the old hand-computed offset offsetof(struct tcp_sock, rtt_min) + sizeof_

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, arm64: set up the frame pointer for the exception callback A program acting as exception boundary saves all callee-saved registers, so build_prologue() takes the exception_cb path and never calls push_callee_regs(). That is the only place find_used_callee_regs() runs, and with it the only place ctx->fp_used is set, so the callback prologue does not emit the mov x25, sp that points BPF_REG_FP at the frame the callback runs on. x25 keeps whatever it held when bpf_throw() was called. If the throw came from a subprogram that uses its own BPF stack, that is the subprogram's frame pointer, and since the subprogram never returns it never restores x25 either. Stack accesses through BPF_REG_FP are rewritten to be stack pointer relative, so those still land in the callback's own frame. Materializing the register does not: a callback that passes the address of a local variable to a helper hands over an address in the dead subprogram's frame. That address is below the callback's stack pointer by then, and the helper's own call chain covers it, so the helper can write over its own return address. 0x1234 below is the

A valid length cannot yield a zero size, so the !sve_state_size test goes with it.

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: arm64: Do not clear VM-wide SVE feature on vCPU init failure pkvm_vcpu_init_sve() cleCVE-2026-98637 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: arm64: Do not clear VM-wide SVE feature on vCPU init failure pkvm_vcpu_init_sve() clears KVM_ARM_VCPU_SVE in kvm->arch.vcpu_features when it fails, but vcpu_has_sve() tests KVM_ARCH_FLAG_GUEST_HAS_SVE, which is left set. Later vCPUs on that VM then skip the SVE setup and register with a NULL sve_state, which the guest's first FP access hands to sve_load_state(). Return the error without touching vcpu_features.

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: squashfs: Add dictionary size range check to prevent shift-out-of-bounds When an abnormal CVE-2026-98636 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: squashfs: Add dictionary size range check to prevent shift-out-of-bounds When an abnormal SquashFS image (COMP_OPTS flag is 1 but dictionary size is 0) is mounted, and performs shift operations using dictionarysize, the shift exponent is -1, causing a shift-out-of-bounds. Detail as below: squashfs_comp_opts(msblk, buffer, length) squashfs_xz_comp_opts() if (comp_opts) n = ffs(opts->dict_size) - 1;<----opts->dict_size=0, n=-1 if (opts->dict_size != (1 << n) && opts->dict_size != (1 << n) + (1 << (n + 1))) <----shift-out-of-bounds Fix it by adding a dictionary size range check before the shift operation.

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: block: Fix zones_cond out-of-bounds write on zone report blk_revalidate_disk_zones()CVE-2026-98635 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: block: Fix zones_cond out-of-bounds write on zone report blk_revalidate_disk_zones() sizes the zones_cond array from the disk capacity and zone size, but the index used by blk_revalidate_zone_cond() comes from the device-driven report_zones() walk and is never checked against the array size. A device reporting more zones than fit the array makes blk_zone_set_cond() write out of bounds. One way to reach this is a zone count exceeding 32 bits: both blk_revalidate_zone_args.nr_zones and struct zoned_disk_info.nr_zones are unsigned int, so a disk advertising more than UINT_MAX zones (e.g. 2^32 + 1024 zones of one 512-byte logical block) gets its zone count truncated to a small value, undersizing the array while the report walk keeps counting upward. Check the index against the array size before storing the zone condition, and refuse to revalidate when the zone count does not fit 32 bits.

  • Oct 18, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: sd_zbc: Reject disks with too many zones sd_zbc_read_zones() computes the number of CVE-2026-98634 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: sd_zbc: Reject disks with too many zones sd_zbc_read_zones() computes the number of zones with 64-bit arithmetic and stores the result in the unsigned int nr_zones field of struct zoned_disk_info, silently truncating counts that exceed 32 bits. The truncated count is later used to size per-zone resources, while the device may still report more zones than fit. Moreover, sd_zbc_report_zones() counts the reported zones with a signed int zone_idx, which overflows past INT_MAX. Reject devices reporting more than INT_MAX zones at scan time; such a device is not realistic for any medium that exists today, and accepting it produces inconsistent zone bookkeeping.

Where this comes from: the exploited list is CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog. Everything else is the whole National Vulnerability Database, where each record is published by the team that found the bug (Wordfence, Patchstack, WPScan, the vendors themselves and others); we show who. Exploit odds are FIRST’s EPSS, updated daily. Titles and categories are ours, so check the linked record before acting on a detail. For a write-up of the big ones, see our advisories. Every vendor, and every WordPress plugin and theme with a recorded flaw, also has its own page. All of it is free to reuse as JSON, CSV or RSS.
