In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fuse-uring: fix race between registration and connection abortion This fixes this race: - thread a: io_uring_enter -> register sqe -> fuse_uring_create_ring_ent -> allocate ent but doesn't grab queue_ref yet - thread b: fuse_conn_destroy() -> fuse_chan_abort() -> fuse_uring_abort() is a no-op due to queue ref being 0 - thread a: grabs the queue_ref, queue_ref is now 1, rest of fuse_uring_do_register() logic executes - thread b: fuse_chan_abort() returns, fuse_chan_wait_aborted() now runs and calls "wait_event(ring->stop_waitq, atomic_read(&ring->queue_refs) == 0);" The abort/unmount thread will hang indefinitely in unkillable state as nothing will decrement queue_refs or wake stop_waitq, and the ring, queue, and ent are leaked. Fix this by checking fch->connected under fch->lock after the created ent has grabbed a ref count on the queue. This ensures that in the scenario above, it is guaranteed that we either release the queue ref and wake up stop_waitq (in case fuse_chan_wait_aborted() is already waiting) in fuse_uring_do_register() when we detect !fch->connected, or if the connection is aborted aft

  • Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched_ext: Preserve rq tracking across local DSQ dispatch dispatch_to_local_dsq() can run CVE-2026-68094 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched_ext: Preserve rq tracking across local DSQ dispatch dispatch_to_local_dsq() can run from scx_bpf_dsq_move_to_local() while ops.dispatch() has recorded the current rq. Moving a task to a local DSQ may switch to the source or destination rq before synchronously invoking ops.dequeue() through the following path: SCX_CALL_OP(dispatch, rq) ops.dispatch() scx_bpf_dsq_move_to_local() scx_flush_dispatch_buf() finish_dispatch() dispatch_to_local_dsq() scx_dispatch_enqueue() local_dsq_post_enq() call_task_dequeue() SCX_CALL_OP_TASK(dequeue, locked_rq, ...) The nested callback saves the recorded rq and restores it on return. If the rq tracking does not follow the lock switch, update_locked_rq() can trigger the following lockdep assertion while restoring an rq which is no longer held: WARNING: kernel/sched/sched.h:1641 at call_task_dequeue+0x160/0x170 Call Trace: scx_dispatch_enqueue+0x2b0/0x460 dispatch_to_local_dsq+0x138/0x230 scx_flush_dispatch_buf+0x1af/0x220 scx_bpf_dsq_move_to_local

  • Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: SVM: Bump asid_generation on CPU online to avoid ASID collision after hotplug If a vCCVE-2026-68093 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: SVM: Bump asid_generation on CPU online to avoid ASID collision after hotplug If a vCPU stays scheduled out (or blocked) while the last pCPU it ran on goes through a hotplug cycle (online->offline->online), and the vCPU then resumes execution on the same pCPU, then it is possible for it to run with an ASID that has now been assigned to a different vCPU, resulting in stale TLB translations being used. svm_enable_virtualization_cpu() resets asid_generation to 1 and sets next_asid to max_asid + 1 on every CPU online event, including hotplug cycles. Because next_asid starts beyond the pool boundary, the first call to new_asid() after an online event always wraps the pool, incrementing asid_generation to 2 and assigning ASIDs starting from min_asid. Consider two vCPUs from different VMs, vCPU-A pinned to CPU-X holding asid_generation=2 and ASID=N from before the hotplug event: 1. CPU-X goes offline and back online: asid_generation resets to 1, next_asid = max_asid + 1. 2. One or more vCPUs migrate to CPU-X and call new_asid(), wrapping the pool and consuming ASIDs starting from min_asid. Event

  • Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: time/jiffies: Register jiffies clocksource before usage Teddy reported that a XEN HVM has CVE-2026-68092 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: time/jiffies: Register jiffies clocksource before usage Teddy reported that a XEN HVM has a long boot delay, which was bisected to the recent enhancements to the negative motion detection. It turned out that the jiffies clocksource is used in early boot before it is registered, which leaves the max_delta_raw field at zero. That causes the read out to be clamped to the max delta of 0, which means time is not making progress. Cure it by ensuring that it is initialized before its first usage in timekeeping_init().

  • Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: wacom: stop hardware after post-start probe failures wacom_parse_and_register() startCVE-2026-68091 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: wacom: stop hardware after post-start probe failures wacom_parse_and_register() starts HID hardware before registering inputs and initializing pad LEDs/remotes. Those later steps can fail, but their error paths currently release Wacom resources without stopping the HID hardware. Route post-hid_hw_start() failures through hid_hw_stop() before releasing driver resources. This issue was identified during our ongoing static-analysis research while reviewing kernel code.

  • Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: wacom: use GFP_ATOMIC in wacom_wac_queue_flush() wacom_wac_queue_flush() is called viCVE-2026-68087 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: wacom: use GFP_ATOMIC in wacom_wac_queue_flush() wacom_wac_queue_flush() is called via the .raw_event callback (wacom_raw_event → wacom_wac_pen_serial_enforce → wacom_wac_queue_flush). For USB HID devices, this callback is invoked from hid_irq_in(), which is a URB completion handler running in atomic context. Using GFP_KERNEL in this path can sleep, leading to a "scheduling while atomic" bug. Use GFP_ATOMIC instead. The existing code already handles allocation failure by skipping the fifo entry and continuing.

  • Aug 10, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/khugepaged: write all dirty file folios when collapsing [There is no upstream commit, aCVE-2026-68086 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/khugepaged: write all dirty file folios when collapsing [There is no upstream commit, as this code was removed by upstream commit 044925f9b565 ("mm: fs: remove filemap_nr_thps*() functions and their users")] As-is, khugepaged and writable-file opening exclude each other. A file cannot be open writeable and have THPs (because the filesystem is not aware of them). khugepaged will never collapse file pages for files that are opened writeable. On an open(O_RDWR/O_WRONLY), the page cache for that particular file is dropped. This is fine because nothing could've been dirtied. However, there is an edge-case: collapse_file() might not be able to coexist with concurrent writers, but it can coexist with dirty folios (from previous writers). Therefore, the following can happen: open(file, O_RDWR) write(file) close(file) madvise(file_mapping, MADV_COLLAPSE, some non-dirty range) open(file, O_RDWR) nr_thps > 0 truncate_inode_pages() /* THPs are cleared out, but so are the dirty folios */ When this edge-case happens, there is data loss, as the dirty folios are fully discarded. Fix it by fully writing back the p

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_uart: clear HCI_UART_SENDING when write_work is canceled HCI_UART_SENDING bit in tx_state means write_work is pending and blocks queueing it again. Currently this bit is not cleared when canceling the work in hci_uart_close(), which blocks future writes when device is reopened later if write_work was pending. Fix by clearing HCI_UART_SENDING when canceling the work. Also make clearing of tx_skb safe by using disable_work_sync + enable_work instead of just cancel_work_sync. hci_uart_flush() purges the proto tx queue so we can cancel the pending write_work there, instead of doing it just in hci_uart_close(). Re-enable and possibly requeue the work after queue flush.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: fix path resolution in ksmbd_vfs_kern_path_create The SMB2 open lookup is rooted at the share with LOOKUP_BENEATH, but the create/mkdir/hardlink sink is not: ksmbd_vfs_kern_path_create() builds an absolute path with convert_to_unix_name() and resolves it from AT_FDCWD via start_creating_path(), so a ".." component is walked from the real filesystem root and escapes the export. An authenticated client races a missing path component so the rooted open lookup returns -ENOENT (taking the create branch) while the same component is present (a directory) when the create walk runs; the create then resolves ".." out of the share. Root the create walk at the share like the lookup and rename paths already are: resolve the parent with vfs_path_parent_lookup(..., LOOKUP_BENEATH, &share_conf->vfs_path) and create the final component with start_creating_noperm(). convert_to_unix_name() then has no callers and is removed.

  • Aug 8, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: fix two unsafe bare decodes in decode_lockers() decode_lockers() in cls_lock_clieCVE-2026-68082 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67Critical 9.8

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: libceph: fix two unsafe bare decodes in decode_lockers() decode_lockers() in cls_lock_client.c contains two bare decode operations that allow a malicious or compromised OSD to trigger slab-out-of-bounds reads: 1. ceph_decode_32(p) at the num_lockers field has no preceding bounds check. ceph_start_decoding() accepts struct_len=0 as valid -- the internal ceph_decode_need(p, end, 0, bad) always passes -- so when an OSD sends struct_len=0, ceph_start_decoding() returns success with p == end. The immediately following bare ceph_decode_32(p) then reads 4 bytes past the validated buffer boundary. The garbage value is passed directly to kzalloc_objs() as the locker count. The sibling function decode_watchers() in osd_client.c already uses ceph_decode_32_safe() after its own ceph_start_decoding() call. decode_lockers() was the only site using the bare variant. 2. ceph_decode_8(p) after the decode_locker() loop has no preceding bounds check. If an OSD crafts num_lockers such that the loop advances p exactly to end, the subsequent bare ceph_decode_8(p) reads one byte past the validated

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: nVMX: Put vmcs12 pages if nested VM-Enter fails due to invalid guest state Put all vmcs12 pages if KVM synthesizes a nested VM-Exit due to invalid guest while emulating VMLAUNCH or VMRESUME. The invalid guest state path doesn't use nested_vmx_vmexit() as that API is intended to be used if and only if L2 is active, and the open coded equivalent neglects to put the vmcs12 pages. Failure to put the vmcs12 pages leaks any pinned pages (and/or mappings) if L1 retries VMLAUNCH/VMRESUME. Note, the !from_vmenter scenario doesn't suffer the same problem, as vmx_get_nested_state_pages() only gets/pins/maps the vmcs12 pages if L2 is active, i.e. if a "full" VM-Exit is guaranteed before KVM will retry getting vmcs12 pages.

  • Aug 7, 2026The kernel queue helper z_queue_node_peek() in kernel/queue.c dereferences a node taken from a queue's data_q list, reading the node's flag byte and, for items CVE-2026-11742 · Other software · zephyrproject · reported by vulnerabilities@zephyrproject.orgLow 3.6

The kernel queue helper z_queue_node_peek() in kernel/queue.c dereferences a node taken from a queue's data_q list, reading the node's flag byte and, for items enqueued via k_queue_alloc_append/alloc_prepend, the data pointer of an internally allocated alloc_node struct. The implementations of z_impl_k_queue_peek_head() and z_impl_k_queue_peek_tail() performed this read-and-dereference without holding the queue's spinlock, while every other accessor of the same list — including k_queue_get(), which unlinks a node and k_free()s its backing alloc_node — operates under that lock. Because peek was unsynchronized, a concurrent k_queue_get() on the same queue (on an SMP build, or under preemption/ISR concurrency) can free the node between the moment peek obtains the node pointer and the moment it dereferences it. The peek then reads flag bits and a data pointer out of freed, potentially re-allocated heap memory and returns a stale or dangling pointer to its caller. k_fifo and k_lifo are thin wrappers over k_queue, so this affects buffer queues used throughout the net_buf, Bluetooth, USB, and networking subsystems; the peek operations are also system calls reachable from CONFIG_USERSPACE

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: platform/x86: intel-hid: Protect ACPI notify handler against recursion Since commit e2ffcda16290 ("ACPI: OSL: Allow Notify () handlers to run on all CPUs") ACPI notify handlers like the intel-hid notify_handler() may run on multiple CPU cores racing with themselves. On convertibles and detachables (matched by DMI chassis-type 31 and 32 in dmi_auto_add_switch[]) the SW_TABLET_MODE input device is registered lazily from notify_handler() on the first tablet-mode event, via intel_hid_switches_setup(). When two such events race on different CPUs both can pass the !priv->switches check and register the priv->switches input device twice, resulting in a duplicate sysfs entry and a subsequent NULL pointer dereference. This is the same class of bug fixed by commit e075c3b13a0a ("platform/x86: intel-vbtn: Protect ACPI notify handler against recursion") for the sibling intel-vbtn driver. Protect intel-hid notify_handler() from racing with itself with a mutex to fix this.

Each redundant call corrupts the anchor's doubly-linked list and inflates the URB refcount. When usb_kill_anchored_urbs() traverses the list during stream stop / suspend / disconnect, the corrupted list leads to use-after-free. Remove the redundant usb_anchor_urb() from the resubmit path.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: amlogic - avoid double cleanup in meson_crypto_probe() When meson_allocate_chanlist() fails after a partial allocation, it already unwinds the allocated chanlist state through its local error path. meson_crypto_probe() then jump to error_flow and calls meson_free_chanlist() again, causing the same per-flow resources to be torn down twice. In the reproduced failure path, the second teardown re-entered crypto_engine_exit() on an already destroyed worker and KASAN reported a slab-use-after-free in kthread_destroy_worker(). Prevent double-free by handling partial allocation failures locally within meson_allocate_chanlist() and skipping the outer cleanup path. The bug was first flagged by an experimental analysis tool we are developing for kernel memory-management bugs while analyzing v6.13-rc1. The tool is still under development and is not yet publicly available. The bug was reproduced in a QEMU x86_64 guest booted with KASAN on v7.1, using the reproducer under tools/testing/meson_crypto_probe. The reproducer forces the second dma_alloc_attrs() call in the gxl-crypto probe path to return NULL, making meso

Set both flags here so every pseudo filesystem gets them by default instead of each caller setting them. SB_I_NODEV is inert for unreachable mounts. SB_I_NOEXEC has one visible effect: an executable mapping of a pseudo-fs fd, such as a dma-buf, now fails with -EPERM, which is the invariant the assertion enforces. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: hid-lenovo-go: cancel cfg_setup work in hid_go_cfg_remove() hid_go_cfg_probe() initialises drvdata.go_cfg_setup and schedules it to run 2 ms later: INIT_DELAYED_WORK(&drvdata.go_cfg_setup, &cfg_setup); schedule_delayed_work(&drvdata.go_cfg_setup, msecs_to_jiffies(2)); cfg_setup() dereferences drvdata.hdev to issue MCU command requests. hid_go_cfg_remove() tears down sysfs and stops the HID device, but never drains the delayed work. If the device is unbound within the 2 ms scheduling delay (a probe failure rolling back via remove, or a fast rmmod after probe), the work fires after hid_destroy_device() has dropped its reference and released the underlying hdev struct, leaving cfg_setup() with a stale drvdata.hdev pointer. Mirror the sibling driver hid-lenovo-go-s.c, whose hid_gos_cfg_remove() already calls cancel_delayed_work_sync() on its analogous work, and drain go_cfg_setup at the top of hid_go_cfg_remove(). The cancel must come before guard(mutex)(&drvdata.cfg_mutex) because cfg_setup() acquires that mutex; reversing the order would deadlock.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fuse-uring: fix data races on ring->ready On weakly-ordered architectures, the store to fiq->ops can be reordered past the store to ring->ready, allowing a CPU that sees ring->ready == true via fuse_uring_ready() to dispatch requests through a stale fiq->ops pointer. Upgrade the store to smp_store_release() and the load in fuse_uring_ready() to smp_load_acquire() so that the preceding WRITE_ONCE(fiq->ops, ...) is visible to any CPU that observes ring->ready == true. Additionally, fuse_uring_do_register() publishes ring->ready with WRITE_ONCE() but the fast-path check reads it with a plain load. This is a marked-vs-unmarked access that KCSAN will flag. Wrap it in READ_ONCE() to mark it without adding unnecessary ordering. Also wrap the fc->ring load in fuse_uring_ready() in READ_ONCE() to prevent the compiler from reloading it between the NULL check and the dereference.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ethernet: arc: emac: quiesce interrupts before requesting IRQ Normal RX/TX interrupts are enabled later, in arc_emac_open(), so probe should not see interrupt delivery in the usual case. However, hardware may still present stale or latched interrupt status left by firmware or the bootloader. If probe later unwinds after devm_request_irq() has installed the handler, such a stale interrupt can still reach arc_emac_intr() during teardown and race with release of the associated net_device. Avoid that window by putting the device into a known quiescent state before requesting the IRQ: disable all EMAC interrupt sources and clear any pending EMAC interrupt status bits. This keeps the change hardware-focused and minimal, while preventing spurious IRQ delivery from leftover state.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: brcmfmac: drain bus_reset work on device removal brcmf_fw_crashed() and the debugfs "reset" entry both schedule drvr->bus_reset, whose callback recovers drvr through container_of() and dereferences it. The removal path frees drvr (brcmf_free -> wiphy_free) without draining the work, so a bus_reset callback pending or running during removal can outlive drvr. Cancellation cannot live in brcmf_detach() or brcmf_free(): the work callback reaches teardown through the bus .reset op (PCIe brcmf_pcie_reset -> brcmf_detach; SDIO brcmf_sdio_bus_reset -> brcmf_sdiod_remove -> brcmf_free), so cancelling there would wait for the running work and deadlock. Add a per-bus mutex (bus_reset_lock) and route all arming through brcmf_bus_schedule_reset(), which under the lock skips when the bus is marked removing. Each bus remove entry calls brcmf_bus_cancel_reset_work(), which under the same lock sets removing and cancels the work. Holding the mutex across cancel_work_sync() makes the set-removing + drain step atomic. Every producer reaches the arming path from process context -- the PCIe firmware-halt notification runs

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: esd_usb: kill anchored URBs before freeing netdevs esd_usb_disconnect() frees each CAN netdev with free_candev() inside its per-netdev loop and only calls unlink_all_urbs(dev) afterwards. The per-netdev private data (struct esd_usb_net_priv) is embedded in the net_device allocation returned by alloc_candev(), so once free_candev() has run, dev->nets[i] points to freed memory. unlink_all_urbs() then dereferences the freed dev->nets[i] to kill the per-netdev TX anchor (usb_kill_anchored_urbs(&priv->tx_submitted)), clear active_tx_jobs, and reset priv->tx_contexts[]. Reorder the teardown so the anchored URBs are killed before the netdevs are freed, matching other CAN/USB drivers in the same directory such as ems_usb, usb_8dev and mcba_usb, which unregister, then unlink, then free: unregister the netdevs first (which stops their TX queues), call unlink_all_urbs(dev) once, then free the netdevs. This issue was found by an in-house static analysis tool.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: gadget: f_midi: cancel pending IN work before freeing the midi object The f_midi driver embeds a work item (midi->work) whose handler, f_midi_in_work(), dereferences the enclosing struct f_midi through container_of(). This work is armed from two sites: f_midi_complete(), on a normal IN-endpoint completion, and f_midi_in_trigger(), on an ALSA rawmidi output-stream start. Neither f_midi_disable() nor f_midi_unbind() cancels midi->work. f_midi_disable() only disables the endpoints and drains the in_req_fifo; it does not synchronize the work item, and the sound card is released asynchronously to the final free of the midi object. The midi object is reference-counted (midi->free_ref) and is freed in f_midi_free() only once both the usb_function reference and the rawmidi private_data reference have been dropped. In f_midi_unbind(), f_midi_disable() runs before the sound card is released, so while the USB endpoints are already disabled the rawmidi device is still usable by an open substream. A concurrent userspace write on such a substream can reach f_midi_in_trigger() and queue midi->work again after f_midi_d

Both happen while the IRQ handler (bdc_udc_interrupt, requested with IRQF_SHARED) remains deliverable in the window up to the post-remove devm free_irq(). On receipt of a shared interrupt in that window, bdc_udc_interrupt() dereferences bdc->srr.sr_bds[bdc->srr.dqp_index] (NULL or freed DMA) and dispatches sr_handler callbacks that index into bdc_ep_array, causing a NULL-deref or use-after-free. The same window affects the delayed_work bdc->func_wake_notify, which is armed from the IRQ handler via bdc_sr_uspc() -> handle_lin

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/rxe: Fix a use-after-free problem in rxe_mmap rxe_mmap() removes a rxe_mmap_info struct from the pending_mmaps list and releases pending_lock while the struct's kref is still at 1: list_del_init(&ip->pending_mmaps); spin_unlock_bh(&rxe->pending_lock); /* ref == 1, no lock held */ ret = remap_vmalloc_range(vma, ip->obj, 0); /* walks PTEs */ [...] rxe_vma_open(vma); /* kref_get, ref → 2 */ remap_vmalloc_range_partial() walks PTEs without any lock. A concurrent DESTROY_CQ ioctl on another CPU calls: kref_put(&q->ip->ref, rxe_mmap_release) /* ref 1→0 */ vfree(ip->obj) /* clears vmalloc PTEs mid-walk */ kfree(ip) /* frees rxe_mmap_info */ This yields: 1. Kernel crash, vmalloc_to_page() returns NULL when vfree wins the per-PTE race -> vm_insert_page(NULL) → GPF in validate_page_before_insert 2. Page UAF, vmalloc_to_page() reads a stale PTE before vfree clears it. User VMA holds a PTE to a free'd page which might eventually get reallocated later by vmalloc which allows the attacker to get a clean page-level UAF. It is worth n

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: fix sk_dst_cache double-free in xfrm_user_policy() xfrm_user_policy() clears the socket dst cache with __sk_dst_reset(), i.e. the non-atomic __sk_dst_set(sk, NULL): it reads sk_dst_cache with rcu_dereference_protected(), stores NULL and dst_release()s the old dst. That is only safe if no other thread modifies sk_dst_cache concurrently. For a connected UDP socket that does not hold: the transmit fast path (udp_sendmsg -> sk_dst_check -> sk_dst_reset) resets the cache locklessly with an atomic xchg(). A per-socket policy change racing a send can make both sides observe the same old dst and each dst_release() it, dropping the socket's single reference twice and freeing the xfrm_dst bundle while it is still referenced: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in dst_release Write of size 4 at addr ffff88801897b6c0 by task exploit/155 Call Trace: ... dst_release (... ./include/linux/rcuref.h:109) xfrm_user_policy (./include/net/sock.h:2239 ./include/net/sock.h:2256 net/xfrm/xfrm_state.c:3053) do_ip_setsockopt (net/ipv4/ip_sockglue.c:1347) ip_setsockopt (net/ipv4/ip_sockglue.c:1417) do_sock_setso

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm6: clear dst.dev on error to avoid double netdev_put in xfrm6_fill_dst() On the error path where in6_dev_get(dev) returns NULL, xfrm6_fill_dst() releases the device reference with netdev_put() but leaves xdst->u.dst.dev set. dst_destroy() later calls netdev_put(dst->dev) again, so the same net_device reference is released twice, underflowing its refcount (ref_tracker WARNING + "unregister_netdevice: waiting for <dev> to become free"). • Aug 5, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: policy: preallocate inexact bins before xfrm_hash_rebuild reinsert xfrm_hash_rebuildCVE-2026-64579 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: policy: preallocate inexact bins before xfrm_hash_rebuild reinsert xfrm_hash_rebuild()'s first loop preallocates the bins/chains the reinsert loop needs, so the reinsert (after hlist_del_rcu()) cannot allocate or fail. But its guard is inverted: it skips policies with prefixlen < threshold and preallocates for the rest. prefixlen < threshold is exactly when policy_hash_bysel() returns NULL and the reinsert takes the allocating xfrm_policy_inexact_insert() path. So the loop preallocates for the exact policies (which never allocate) and skips the inexact ones, whose bin/node is then allocated GFP_ATOMIC during reinsert. On failure the error path only WARN_ONCE()s and continues, leaving a poisoned bydst node; the next rebuild's hlist_del_rcu() dereferences LIST_POISON2 and takes a GPF. Reachable under memory pressure, deterministic via failslab. Invert the guard so preallocation covers exactly the reinserted policies; the reinsert then allocates nothing and cannot fail. • Aug 5, 2026In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: validate compound request size before reading StructureSize2 When ksmbd validates aCVE-2026-64578 · Computers, phones & browsers · Linux · reported by 416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67High 8.2

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: validate compound request size before reading StructureSize2 When ksmbd validates a compound (chained) SMB2 request, ksmbd_smb2_check_message() reads pdu->StructureSize2 without first checking that the compound element is large enough to contain it. StructureSize2 is a 2-byte field at offset 64 (__SMB2_HEADER_STRUCTURE_SIZE) from the start of each element. The compound-walking logic only guarantees that a full 64-byte SMB2 header is present for the trailing element: when NextCommand is 0, len is reduced to the number of bytes remaining after next_smb2_rcv_hdr_off. A remote client can craft a compound request whose last element has exactly 64 bytes, so the 2-byte StructureSize2 read at offset 64 extends one byte past the receive buffer, producing a slab-out-of-bounds read. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gtp: check skb_pull_data() return in gtp1u_send_echo_resp() gtp1u_send_echo_resp() ignores skb_pull_data()'s return value.
