Jul 21, 2026Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients.CVE-2026-56816 · Other software · netty · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. Prior to 4.2.16.Final, Netty's `Http3FrameCodec` buffers incoming data for HTTP/3 reserved frame types up to the wire-specified payload length without limits; `decodeFrame` trusts `payLoadLength`, allowing an attacker to open multiple QUIC streams and send reserved frames with very large payload lengths to cause memory exhaustion and denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.16.Final.

Jul 21, 2026Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients.CVE-2026-56746 · Other software · netty · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5
Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. Versions 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.15.Final and 4.1.0.Final through 4.1.135.Final, are vulnerable to security control bypass during the origin evaluation process. CorsHandler provides a shortCircuit() configuration designed to reject unauthorized cross-origin requests immediately, acting as a security control before requests reach the application. However, due to a logical operator error in the origin evaluation process, this protection can be entirely bypassed. An attacker can bypass the short-circuit mechanism by sending a request with an Origin: null header. This failure forwards unauthorized requests to the backend application, bypassing intended access controls. This issue is fixed in versions 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final.

Jul 21, 2026Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients.CVE-2026-56745 · Other software · netty · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7
Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. In versions 4.2.0.Final through 4.2.15.Final and 4.1.0.Final through 4.1.135.Final, the `SpdyHttpDecoder` handler in Netty's SPDY-to-HTTP codec allocates a pooled `ByteBuf` when processing a client-initiated `SYN_STREAM` frame with `FLAG_FIN=0` and stores the partially constructed `FullHttpRequest` in `messageMap`; when the remote peer sends `RST_STREAM` for that stream or the accumulated content exceeds `maxContentLength`, the decoder removes the entry but does not release the pooled `ByteBuf`, causing native memory exhaustion. This issue is fixed in versions 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final.

Jul 21, 2026Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients.CVE-2026-55851 · Other software · netty · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7
Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. In versions 4.2.0.Final up to (but not including) 4.2.16.Final, and 4.1.0.Final up to (but not including) 4.1.135, the `HAProxyMessageDecoder` in Netty's `codec-haproxy` module performs protocol version detection by reading the 13th byte as a signed Java `byte` and widening it to `int` without masking; a PROXY protocol v2 binary prefix followed by version byte `0xFF` sign-extends to `-1`, collides with the decoder's need-more-data sentinel, and causes `ByteToMessageDecoder` to accumulate inbound bytes in an unbounded `cumulation` buffer until direct memory is exhausted. This issue is fixed in versions 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final.

The AMMOS Instrument Toolkit (Formerly the Bespoke Links to Instruments for Surface and Space (BLISS)) is a Python-based software suite developed to handle Ground Data System (GDS), Electronic Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), commanding, telemetry uplink/downlink, and sequencing for instrument and CubeSat Missions. In versions prior to 2.6.1 and in version 3.1.0, the Binary Stream Capture (BSC) component exposes an unauthenticated HTTP API for dynamically creating packet capture "handlers." Because the code blindly trusts path‑related form fields, a remote client can bypass the configured log root and direct BSC to log to arbitrary filesystem paths (path traversal / directory escape), and append attacker‑controlled data to those files, using the privileges of the`ait-bsc` process. There are two ways for a remote attacker to trigger this. First, if the attacker has access to the network where `ait-bsc` is deployed (a reason for that could be that the ports are publicly accessible), the payloads can be directly sent to the server to trigger the arbitrary file append. This type of attack is demonstrated in `python_poc.py`. Second, even if the attacker does not have direct access to th

Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. Prior to 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final, Netty SPDY header decoding continues inflating zlib-compressed header blocks after the raw header parser has exceeded `maxHeaderSize` and marked the frame truncated in `SpdyFrameCodec`, allowing a remote peer to send a small compressed `HEADERS` block that expands into much larger raw header data and causes compression-amplified CPU and allocation churn. Jul 20, 2026Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients.CVE-2026-55831 · Other software · netty · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. Prior to 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final, Netty's SPDY SETTINGS decoder accepts a peer-declared SETTINGS entry count up to the 24-bit frame-length limit and materializes every unique setting ID in `DefaultSpdySettingsFrame`, allowing a remote SPDY/3.1 peer to send a syntactically valid roughly 2 MiB SETTINGS frame that creates 262144 map entries and amplifies network input into heap growth and ordered-map insertion work. This issue is fixed in versions 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final.

Jul 20, 2026Mailpit is an email testing tool and API for developers.CVE-2026-48824 · Other software · axllent · reported by GitHubMedium 5.3
Mailpit is an email testing tool and API for developers. Prior to version 1.30.1, the fix for GHSA-fpxj-m5q8-fphw (CVE-2026-45710, "Mailpit: Set a default 50MB p/m limit to prevent DoS via unlimited SMTP DATA and /api/v1/send body sizes") wrapped only `POST /api/v1/send` with `http.MaxBytesReader`. The four other Mailpit JSON-body API endpoints `PUT /api/v1/messages` (SetReadStatus), `DELETE /api/v1/messages` (DeleteMessages), `PUT /api/v1/tags` (SetMessageTags), and `POST /api/v1/message/{id}/release` (ReleaseMessage) still call `json.NewDecoder(r.Body)` directly with no body-size cap and remain reachable unauthenticated in the default `docker run axllent/mailpit:latest` deploy. An unauthenticated remote attacker can post a multi-million-element `IDs` slice and drive RSS from ~25 MiB baseline to ~450 MiB per 16 MB request body. Repeating across multiple connections accumulates the same per-request amplification per process. Version 1.30.1 contains a patch.

Jul 20, 2026Mailpit is an email testing tool and API for developers.CVE-2026-45713 · Other software · axllent · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
Mailpit is an email testing tool and API for developers. Prior to version 1.30.0, the Mailpit SMTP server has a Server.MaxSize int field that controls the maximum allowed DATA payload size, but the field is never assigned anywhere outside test code, leaving it at Go's zero value (0 ⇒ "no limit"). The same applies to the HTTP /api/v1/send endpoint, whose request body is decoded with json.NewDecoder(r.Body) and no http.MaxBytesReader. Because Mailpit's default listeners bind [::]:1025 (SMTP) and [::]:8025 (HTTP), with no authentication required on either, a single network-reachable attacker can push an arbitrarily large message into Mailpit and watch RAM consumption spike with a ~7-10× amplification factor (raw frame → enmime envelope tree → search-text index → zstd-encoded write to SQLite). Repeating the attack — or running it concurrently from multiple connections — drives the process to OOM-kill. Version 1.30.0 contains a patch.

Jul 20, 2026Mailpit is an email testing tool and API for developers.CVE-2026-45712 · Other software · axllent · reported by GitHubMedium 5.9
Mailpit is an email testing tool and API for developers. Prior to version 1.30.0, the screenshot/print proxy (/proxy?data=…) maintains a package-level assets map[string]MessageAssets cache, but reads the map without holding assetsMutex while a long-running cleanup goroutine and (re-entrant) CSS-rewriting code path concurrently write to it under the lock. When the unsynchronized read coincides with a synchronized write, Go's runtime raises fatal error: concurrent map read and map write — a runtime.throw that is not recoverable by http.Server's handler-panic recover. The whole Mailpit process exits, taking the SMTP, POP3 and HTTP listeners down with it. Version 1.30.0 contains a patch.

Jul 20, 2026Mailpit is an email testing tool and API for developers.CVE-2026-45711 · Other software · axllent · reported by GitHubMedium 5.9
Mailpit is an email testing tool and API for developers. Prior to version 1.30.0, the mailpit dump --http <base-url> <out-dir> sub-command downloads every message from a remote Mailpit instance and writes each one as <id>.eml inside the user-supplied output directory. The message ID field is taken verbatim from the JSON response of the remote server and concatenated into the output path with path.Join, which silently normalizes `..` segments. A malicious HTTP server impersonating Mailpit can therefore make mailpit dump write attacker-controlled bytes to any path the running user can write, fully outside the intended output directory. Version 1.30.0 contains a patch.

Jul 20, 2026Mailpit is an email testing tool and API for developers.CVE-2026-45709 · Other software · axllent · reported by GitHubMedium 5.8
Mailpit is an email testing tool and API for developers. The fix for GHSA-6jxm-fv7w-rw5j (CVE-2026-23845, "Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) via HTML Check API"), shipped in mailpit `v1.28.3`, hardened `internal/htmlcheck/css.go::downloadCSSToBytes` with a 5MB size cap, a `text/css` content-type check, login-info stripping in `isValidURL`, and an opt-in `--block-remote-css-and-fonts` config flag — but did not add the IP-filtering dialer that the same codebase already uses on the two sister SSRF endpoints (the proxy handler and link-check). Prior to version 1.30.0, `internal/htmlcheck/css.go::newSafeHTTPClient` is mis-named — it builds an `http.Client` whose `Transport.DialContext` calls `net.Dialer.DialContext` directly with no IP allowlisting. As a result, the SSRF originally reported by Bao Anh Phan still permits the server to dial loopback, private, link-local, and any other reserved/multicast range, provided the target replies with `HTTP/200` and a content-type beginning with `text/css`. With redirect-following (`CheckRedirect` allows redirects to any `isValidURL` URL with no IP filter), an attacker-controlled public site can redirect mailpit's request into the private network

Jul 17, 2026Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients.CVE-2026-44891 · Other software · netty · reported by GitHubHigh 7.5
Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. Prior to 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final, io.netty.handler.codec.stomp.StompSubframeDecoder fails to limit the total number of headers or their cumulative size per frame, and the maxLineLength parameter only restricts individual header lines. An attacker can send a large number of short headers that are accumulated in memory inside DefaultStompHeadersSubframe until the JVM throws an OutOfMemoryError, causing denial of service for servers exposing a STOMP endpoint based on StompSubframeDecoder. This issue is fixed in versions 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final.

Jul 10, 2026Mailpit is an email testing tool and API for developers.CVE-2026-55187 · Other software · axllent · reported by GitHubMedium 5.8
Mailpit is an email testing tool and API for developers. Prior to 1.30.2, the remediation shipped for CVE-2026-27808 is incomplete because the tools.IsInternalIP deny-list in internal/tools/net.go relies on Go's standard library classification helpers and does not block IPv6 transition mechanisms or prefixes such as NAT64, 6to4, IPv4-compatible IPv6, ISATAP, fec0::/10, and 2001:db8::/32. An attacker who can deliver email and invoke POST /api/v1/message/{ID}/link-check can coerce the Link Check API's safeDialContext path into dialing internal destinations and can use status-code and error feedback to map internal service reachability, including cloud metadata endpoints. Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55438 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubMedium 5.8
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.17, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, Coder's subdomain-based workspace app proxy allowed the same-owner CORS check to be bypassed. When a workspace-name subdomain segment parsed as a UUID, the workspace was resolved by ID without confirming the URL's username matched the real owner, while the CORS middleware trusted the unverified username in the hostname. Practical exploitation requires subdomain app routing (wildcard hostname) enabled and a victim who visits the attacker's crafted app URL while authenticated. The fix in versions 2.29.17, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 validates the subdomain username against the resolved workspace's actual owner and bases the same-owner CORS decision on the authoritative owner identity. No known workarounds are available.

Prior to versions 2.29.17, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, the `AgentLogLine` dashboard component instantiated `ansi-to-html` without `escapeXML: true` and inserted the result via `dangerouslySetInnerHTML` so HTML embedded in workspace agent log lines was rendered as live markup. Server-side sanitization did not neutralize HTML metacharacters. Exploitation requires a victim to view attacker-controlled agent logs in the dashboard. The fix in versions 2.29.17, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 enables `escapeXML: true` so HTML metacharacters are escaped before DOM insertion. No known workarounds are available.

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55436 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubHigh 7.4
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Starting in version 2.30.0 and prior to versions 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, the AI Bridge Proxy (`aibridgeproxyd`) created a goproxy server whose default transport set `InsecureSkipVerify: true` and only assigned a secure transport when an upstream proxy was configured. In the default configuration (no upstream proxy), outbound HTTPS to the Coder access URL accepted any TLS certificate. Practical exploitation requires an on-path (man-in-the-middle) position between the AI Bridge Proxy and the Coder server. Deployments where they are co-located over loopback are effectively unaffected. The fix in versions 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 applies the secure transport (TLS 1.2 or higher using system root CAs) unconditionally. As a workaround, ensure the Coder access URL uses a trusted certificate and secure the network path between the AI Bridge Proxy and the Coder server (for example, loopback or mTLS).

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55433 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubMedium 5.4
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, the devcontainer recreate endpoint relied on route middleware that checked only `ActionRead` on the workspace and, unlike the sibling delete endpoint, performed no `ActionUpdate` check before triggering the destructive rebuild. Exploitation requires an existing low-privilege role with access to the target workspace. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 adds an explicit `ActionUpdate` authorization check before the agent is dialed like the delete endpoint. No known workarounds are available.

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55432 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubMedium 5.4
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, the `CreateSubAgent` RPC did not validate a requested app sharing level against the template's `MaxPortSharingLevel` before persisting workspace apps, letting a workspace owner exceed the administrator's configured maximum. Exploitation requires the ability to register sub-agent apps in a workspace the attacker controls. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2clamps the sub-agent app sharing level to the template's `MaxPortSharingLevel`. As a workaround, disable wildcard app hostnames (`CODER_WILDCARD_ACCESS_URL`) to block subdomain-based app routing.

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55431 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubHigh 7.7
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, `coder open app` opens external workspace-app URLs without validating the scheme or host. When an external app URL contains the `$SESSION_TOKEN` placeholder the CLI replaces it with the user's real session token before handing the URL to the OS open handler. Practical exploitation requires the victim to run `coder open app` against a workspace whose external app definition the attacker controls. Only a malicious template author can control external app URLs. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 applies a URL-scheme allowlist in the CLI and limits `$SESSION_TOKEN` substitution to trusted destinations like the web frontend. As a workaround, avoid running `coder open app` for untrusted workspaces.

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55430 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubMedium 5.8
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, the workspace app proxy resolves the target app from `httpapi.RequestHost()` which prefers the `X-Forwarded-Host` header over the real `Host` header. No middleware strips `X-Forwarded-Host` before routing and the header is not browser-forbidden so client-side JavaScript can set it on `fetch()` calls. Practical exploitation requires subdomain app routing (wildcard hostname) enabled, a victim who visits the attacker's shared app and a deployment whose upstream proxy does not strip `X-Forwarded-Host`. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 trusts `X-Forwarded-Host` only from configured trusted proxies and otherwise resolves the routing host from the verified request host. As a workaround, place an upstream reverse proxy that strips or overwrites `X-Forwarded-Host` on untrusted requests.

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55429 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubHigh 8.7
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, `UpsertWorkspaceApp` overwrites an existing app's `agent_id` on a primary-key conflict and `insertAgentApp` accepts the app ID from the provisioner's `CompleteJob` payload without verifying it belongs to the workspace being built. `CompleteJob` runs under `dbauthz.AsProvisionerd` so the authorization layer does not block the cross-workspace upsert. Exploitation requires elevated access as a template author or external provisioner operator. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 verifies that any existing `workspace_apps` row matching the supplied ID belongs to the workspace being built and rejects cross-workspace agent reassignment. No known workarounds are available.

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55428 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubHigh 8.2
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, the tailnet coordinator validates that an agent's `Addresses` derive from its authenticated UUID but applies no equivalent check to `AllowedIPs`. The coordinator forwards agent-supplied `AllowedIPs` verbatim to tunnel peers which install them into the WireGuard peer configuration. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 validates each `AllowedIPs` prefix against the authenticating agent's UUID just like `Addresses`. As a workaround, monitor coordinator logs for agents advertising unexpected `AllowedIPs` prefixes.

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55427 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubHigh 8.3
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, `coder config-ssh` wrote server-supplied SSH settings (`HostnameSuffix`, `SSHConfigOptions`) into the user's `~/.ssh/config` without sanitizing embedded newlines or restricting directives so a malicious or compromised Coder server could inject arbitrary SSH configuration. Practical exploitation requires control of the server-supplied values through a malicious or compromised deployment, a man-in-the-middle position or admin access to the `HostnameSuffix` and `SSHConfigOptions` settings. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 validates `HostnameSuffix` and `SSHConfigOptions` against a strict character set that rejects newlines and other control characters. As a workaround, inspect `coder config-ssh --dry-run` output before applying changes.

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55079 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubMedium 4.9
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Starting in version 2.24.0 and prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, `NewDataBuilder` in `provisionersdk/proto/dataupload.go` allocated a byte slice using the client-supplied `FileSize` from a `DataUpload` message without an upper-bound check. Although the DRPC wire limit is 4 MiB, the `FileSize` value itself was unconstrained. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 validates `FileSize` against an upper bound (`MaxFileSize = 100 MiB`) before allocation. As a workaround, restrict access to the provisioner daemon serve endpoint to trusted provisioner daemon service accounts.

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55078 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Starting in version 2.17.0 and prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, `POST /api/v2/files` converts zip uploads to tar in memory via `CreateTarFromZip`, which enforced a per-entry size limit but no aggregate limit on total decompressed output, writing to an unbounded in-memory buffer. Exploitation requires authenticated file-upload access and the impact is limited to availability (denial of service). The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 adds a metadata preflight check that sums projected entry sizes and a streaming writer that enforces the aggregate limit during decompression. As a workaround, restrict file-upload permissions to trusted users or place a reverse proxy with request-body size limits in front of `coderd`.

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55077 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubHigh 7.2
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, the `PUT /api/v2/users/{user}/password` endpoint authorized only `ActionUpdatePersonal` and did not prevent a `user-admin` from resetting an `owner` account's password. It also did not require the current password when an admin reset another user's password. Exploitation requires the privileged `user-admin` role so practical risk is limited to deployments that grant `user-admin` to less trusted operators. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 prevents non-owner users from resetting the password of an account that holds the `owner` role. As a workaround, restrict the `user-admin` role to trusted administrators.

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55076 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubHigh 7.4
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, Coder's OIDC callback checked `email_verified` with a direct Go `bool` type assertion. When an IdP returned the claim as a non-boolean (for example the string `"false"`) or omitted it, the assertion failed open and the email was treated as verified. Combined with an unconditional email-based account fallback, this enabled account takeover. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 coerces `email_verified` across bool, string and numeric types (fail-closed) and blocks the email fallback when the matched user already has a different linked IdP subject. As a workaround, ensure the IdP returns `email_verified` as a native JSON boolean. The email-fallback linking issue has no configuration workaround; upgrading is required.

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-55075 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubHigh 7.4
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, two flaws in Coder's OIDC login chained into account takeover. Email-based user matching fell back to linking by email without checking for an existing link to a different IdP subject and the `email_verified` claim was only enforced when present as a boolean `false` so an absent or non-boolean claim was treated as verified. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 restricts the email fallback to first-time and legacy linking and defaults `email_verified` to false when the claim is absent or of an unexpected type. As a workaround, configure the OIDC provider to disallow self-registration or to require email verification before issuing tokens.

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-46354 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubCritical 9.1
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. In versions prior tp 2.24.5, 2.29.13, 2.30.8, 2.31.12, 2.32.2, and 2.33.3, `azureidentity.Validate()` verifies that the PKCS#7 signer certificate chains to a trusted Azure CA but never verifies the PKCS#7 signature itself. An attacker can embed a legitimate Azure certificate alongside arbitrary content e.g. `{"vmId":"<target>"}` and the forged `vmId` will be accepted returning the victim workspace agent's session token. No authentication is required. The attacker only needs to know a target VM's `vmId` which is a `UUIDv4`. That's a practical limitation which would typically require prior access to be exploited. Versions 2.24.5, 2.29.13, 2.30.8, 2.31.12, 2.32.2, and 2.33.3 patch the issue. As a workaround, reconfigure any Azure templates to use token authentication rather than `azure-instance-identity`.

Jul 7, 2026Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform.CVE-2026-45796 · Other software · coder · reported by GitHubMedium 6.5
Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Versions prior tp 2.24.5, 2.29.13, 2.30.8, 2.31.12, 2.32.2, and 2.33.3 are vulnerable to unauthenticated semi-blind Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) via the Azure instance identity endpoint (`POST /api/v2/workspaceagents/azure-instance-identity`). An external attacker can force the Coder server to issue HTTP GET requests to arbitrary internal or external hosts by submitting a crafted PKCS#7 signature. The server does not return the target's response body, but error messages in the API response reveal whether the target is reachable and what type of failure occurred. Versions 2.24.5, 2.29.13, 2.30.8, 2.31.12, 2.32.2, and 2.33.3 patch the issue. As a workaround, if the Azure identity-auth mechanism is not being used then restrict access to the corresponding endpoint (`/api/v2/workspaceagents/azure-instance-identity`) using ingress firewall and/or proxy ACLs.
