CVE-2026-82960

Improper Control of Generation of Code ('Code Injection') in ModelFormField in the Apache OFBiz cms plugin before 24.09.08 on all platforms allows a remote auth

Improper Control of Generation of Code ('Code Injection') in ModelFormField in the Apache OFBiz cms plugin before 24.09.08 on all platforms allows a remote authenticated attacker holding only CMS content-editor access to execute arbitrary operating system commands as the OFBiz process user via a single HTTP POST request, by submitting a crafted caContentIdTo parameter to EditAddContent, because the CMS screen copies that parameter into a top-level context variable that is interpolated into a form field's use-when attribute and the resulting string is passed unvalidated to GroovyUtil.eval(), whose compile-time SecureASTCustomizer sandbox does not restrict runtime reflection, allowing a payload that closes the expanded string literal and invokes java.lang.Runtime via reflection. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 24.09.08, which fixes this issue.

What it means for a small business

Apache OFBiz runs on web servers, so this is mostly your hosting company's to fix. On shared hosting you can't patch it yourself, but you can ask.

Ask your host whether your server runs it, whether it's updated, and on what date. A good host answers that in a day.

How likely is an attack? The Exploit Prediction Scoring System, run by FIRST (the global association of security response teams), puts the odds of this one being exploited in the next 30 days at 0.62%, higher than 49% of CVEs. That’s low, but low isn’t zero, and the odds jump the day someone publishes an exploit. Scored November 6, 2026, updated daily.

Check your own setup

  • Website check: reads what your site runs from the outside (WordPress version, plugins it can see, old server software) and matches it against this database.
  • Server check: what your web server says about itself, and whether that version has known flaws.
