CVE-2026-68141

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/af_iucv: fix NULL deref in afiucv_hs_callback_syn() afiucv_hs_callback_syn() allocates

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/af_iucv: fix NULL deref in afiucv_hs_callback_syn() afiucv_hs_callback_syn() allocates the child socket with GFP_ATOMIC. If the allocation fails, nsk is NULL. The connection-refused path is entered when the listen state check fails, the accept backlog is full, or nsk is NULL. The code unconditionally calls iucv_sock_kill(nsk) in that path. iucv_sock_kill() does not accept a NULL socket pointer and immediately dereferences sk via sock_flag(sk, SOCK_ZAPPED). When nsk is NULL, calling iucv_sock_kill(nsk) results in a NULL pointer dereference. Only call iucv_sock_kill() when a child socket was successfully allocated.

What it means for a small business

Linux is on the computers, phones or browsers your team uses every day. Turn on automatic updates and restart: most of these fixes only take effect after a restart.

How likely is an attack? The Exploit Prediction Scoring System, run by FIRST (the global association of security response teams), puts the odds of this one being exploited in the next 30 days at 0.52%, higher than 44% of CVEs. That’s low, but low isn’t zero, and the odds jump the day someone publishes an exploit. Scored November 2, 2026, updated daily.

Check your own setup

  • Website check: reads what your site runs from the outside (WordPress version, plugins it can see, old server software) and matches it against this database.
  • Server check: what your web server says about itself, and whether that version has known flaws.
