CVE-2025-38619

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: ti: j721e-csi2rx: fix list_del corruption If ti_csi2rx_start_dma() fails in ti_csi2

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: ti: j721e-csi2rx: fix list_del corruption If ti_csi2rx_start_dma() fails in ti_csi2rx_dma_callback(), the buffer is marked done with VB2_BUF_STATE_ERROR but is not removed from the DMA queue. This causes the same buffer to be retried in the next iteration, resulting in a double list_del() and eventual list corruption. Fix this by removing the buffer from the queue before calling vb2_buffer_done() on error. This resolves a crash due to list_del corruption: [ 37.811243] j721e-csi2rx 30102000.ticsi2rx: Failed to queue the next buffer for DMA [ 37.832187] slab kmalloc-2k start ffff00000255b000 pointer offset 1064 size 2048 [ 37.839761] list_del corruption. next->prev should be ffff00000255bc28, but was ffff00000255d428. What it means for a small business

Linux is on the computers, phones or browsers your team uses every day. Turn on automatic updates and restart: most of these fixes only take effect after a restart.

How likely is an attack? The Exploit Prediction Scoring System, run by FIRST (the global association of security response teams), puts the odds of this one being exploited in the next 30 days at 0.18%, higher than 7% of CVEs. That’s low, but low isn’t zero, and the odds jump the day someone publishes an exploit. Scored October 29, 2026, updated daily.

Check your own setup

  • Website check: reads what your site runs from the outside (WordPress version, plugins it can see, old server software) and matches it against this database.
  • Server check: what your web server says about itself, and whether that version has known flaws.

Part of the Huttenlocher Technologies vulnerability database, refreshed twice a day from CISA and the NVD. The title, category and plain-language guidance are ours; check the linked record before acting on a detail. This is general guidance, not a review of your systems.
