Does a small business still need a website?

Short answer: Yes, for almost every business that wants new customers. Your Google profile and social accounts belong to platforms; your website is the one place you control, and it’s what Google, maps apps and AI assistants read to decide what you do and where.

What only a website does

  • Ranks in Google’s regular results for your services and towns, not just the map.
  • Gives AI assistants something to read and quote when people ask for a recommendation.
  • Holds the details customers need before they call: services, prices, menus, policies, booking.
  • Belongs to you. A platform can change its rules, suspend an account or fade away; your domain and site stay yours.
  • Makes you look established. Many people won’t call a business they can’t find a website for.

When a simple site is enough

A one-page site with what you do, where, your hours, photos and a call button beats no site. Many businesses start there and add pages for each service and town as they grow. What matters is that it’s fast on a phone, accurate, and yours.

Isn’t my Google Business Profile enough?

It’s essential, but it’s one listing among many on a map. A website gives Google more to rank you on, and gives customers more reason to choose you.

What does a website cost?

A website, a booking system, an app, or the thing you've been running out of a spreadsheet for three years. A few lines is plenty.

02A planning call, then a written plan with the price and the date
03A preview on your phone while it's being built
